    2 notes:
    1. I own this and the VWI edition. You can regulate these miyota 82S0 movements to +-1s a day if you spend the time to get it right. I was able to do this on both without a time grapher
    2. These watches are not WWII era designs - that’s a common misconception. They’re actually Korean War -> Vietnam war era military watches MIL-3818A.
    As always love these reviews. I gotta say I like the cream dial a little more for every day wear. But it’s all preference! These are definitely my favorite watches in my collection at the moment. I recommend a horween leather strap or green -> tan nato straps with these.

    • @whatsstefon
      @whatsstefon 2 года назад +2

      Thank you for that. The WWII field watch definitely has some visual differences on the dial design.
      And yes, I too have accurately regulated my watches to within +/-5 seconds a day using a timegrapher. I usually get the beat error down to as close to 0.0 and then regulate the watch in positions I mainly have my wrist. Crown up, crown down. Dial up, dial down.
      I’ve found that Miyota movements tend to come better regulated than some of the non-Swiss competition in my experience. A friend recently bought a Samurai. It was horrendous. Luckily I was able to get the beat error down to 0.1 milliseconds and the regulation down to +/-4 sec.
      I can’t even buy this model in Australia, it’s not even on the Bulova site, which automatically changes to the AU version of the site and displays only models that the authorised distributor/wholesaler here sells to retailers.

      @@whatsstefon nice! Cool to hear your experience with the time grapher. You can buy on Amazon I’d hope! That or use a vpn and set your geolocation to the US

      I totally agree. I regulate my automatics based on how ...I...wear the watch. Timegrapher is nice....but doesn't get as close as I can by gently adjusting and wearing them. My Orient, Steeldive and Ratio II ( MYOTA 8215) are all adjusted to about 1-2 seconds fast. If I lay them flat....they lose time....which makes them lose 1-2 seconds....as accurate or more so than my Casio quartz watches.

    I know this is an older review but I just want to throw in my experience with this watch. I ride an ebike to and from work through a very busy industrial area. A few weeks ago I was hit by a car on my way home while wearing this watch. The bike was ruined destroyed, the guys front bumper was broken where he hit me, I tore my rotator cuff and got a concussion from the impact. The watch got a single scratch and the accuracy is still almost perfect.
    I cannot recommend this watch enough.

    Got mine today. Very cool watch, easy to set up, read and comfortable to wear. Not impressed with the band and have already ordered a replacement. An important dimension that is never mentioned is the distance from spring bar to spring bar, very important when buying a strap, mine is 42mm. I’ll rotate with my Hamilton Khakis and Invicta Divers, all automatics. I agree with your Lume comments, better than many at this price point. Good video, thanks👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

    Cover you at every single type of scenario is one of the most absurd statements I have heard in some time. Not that long if you continue to listen. This level of hucksterism on the credulous never ceases to amaze as I admit even I was taken in when presented with an object whose purchase may satisfy a need that I didn't know I had and that could never be satisfied. The notion of the continued purchase of a series consumer objects as a salve for whatever you believe is missing is more related to an excess of production.

  • @Elshantonio
    @Elshantonio 2 года назад +9

    Wow, a field watch with 30 m water resistance and a mineral crystal. Screams rugged and durable to me. And it's powered by a Miyota 8 series, yaaay Just pay around a 100 more and get yourself a Hamilton Khaki field if you have to have a vintage-styled field watch. Or one of Citizen's solar-powered field watches for half the price. Bulova turning into a nostalgic cash-grab brand is painful to watch. All form, no substance.
