I got the black dial version. It’s REALLY beautiful , I love this watch. I have the Hamilton Khaki Mechanical, which I love as well. Where as the Hamilton is based on a Vietnam War watch, this one is based on a WWII watch. After years of mostly dive watches, I’ve really gotten into field watches, military watches in general.
And I have to blame Chris for that. His videos on this watch, the Praesidus A-11 and the Bulova A-15, have put me in the poorhouse (just purchased the A-15 today).
I’ve gone so far down the military watch rabbit hole, that I actually own a real A-11 (from 1943). Also own a military issued 1972 Hamilton field watch. The history of these watches is fascinating to me (I was a history major for a while in college).

Great review Chris. I own the white dial version and absolutely love it. I think it’s design is attributed to Vietnam era. It was the Bulova military contract they before it went to Benrus and Hamilton. If you check pictures from early Vietnam, you can see the design to these are identical. Regardless, it’s an amazing purchase because you can own a bit of military history from a brand that can back it up.

These two new "tribute" watches have the original Bulova Korean War issue "Hack" design, not a WW2 one. (the Korean War issue is pretty rare.)
Great watch, I have the cream (U.S. Navy style) one.
The thin cheap leather strap left my wrist purple.
The lume is weak, especially the outer markers.
It would have been perfect if it had luminous numbers as well, like a vintage U.S. Navy style watch.
Ordered a British Admiralty Grey cloth NATO strap, coming in the mail soon.
A little pricey without the numbers lume, but it's overall a decent watch for work
    at the Hospital.........

I have the cream dial version. My biggest problem is the crown is so big and borderline sharp that it digs into the back of my hand. If I keep it on a nato strap, that helps. I don’t care for the included strap - too much hardware and it looks better on a tan leather strap if you ask me. Also the lume isn’t all that bad. It is still legible in the morning when I wake up.

The Hamilton Khaki has a mechanical (manual wind) movement. This Bulova has an automatic movement. Because of this difference the Hamilton is much thinner. The other big difference is the Hamilton has a sapphire (very scratch resistant) crystal while the Bulova has a mineral (easy to scratch) crystal. Also, the Hamilton is a bit more expensive. Personally, I prefer the look of the Hamilton. The Bulova might be a good option, if you can find it for less than $250.

      @@natives602CC 995 dollars ? which dollars are we talking about ? :D
It's roughly around the 500 retail price, should be easy to find it much cheaper, in boutiques or online.
BTW I suggest trying them out, I've found the Hamilton surprinsingly big compared to what it looks like online, and that's a deal breaker to me.
So far I haven't found a single modern Hamilton that doesn't wear significantly bigger than what its specs suggests. But I have to say that at a discount, the Khaki Field is a better deal spec wise, than the Bulova. But then again, personnal taste makes the final decision.

I bought the DLC case version of this watch when it first came out, but I returned it as it I found the case to be too thick & the DLC or Ion coating to be too shiny, also the movement wasn't very accurate running + 17 seconds a day. @@interestedbystander196 You can get 2 to 3 bar water pressure from your sink.
That's 20 to 30m depth worth of static water pressure.
This is why 30m is considered splash proof, and only safe for washing your hands. Because you can reach out far more than 30m of water pressure, by swimming in the shallowest partf of a pool : you move your arm through the water, that's the pressure we're talking about. Even taking a shower is not safe, with a 30m.
