The BEST Roach Fishing Lake In The UK?
For this latest episode we took the cameras down to Homersfield Lake in Suffolk, arguably one of the best lakes in the country and home to some of the biggest specimens in the land!
Guided by our friend Phil Spinks our target was some of the big Roach that live in there! Without doubt Homersfield is one of, if not the best Roach fishing water in the country, with a huge head of specimens to over 4lb!
We had one simple aim and that was to try and beat Steves PB of 2lb 1oz.

Thats is James, John Wilson was good friends with everyone at Homersfield lakes, Martin and his Dad. Bless him. Fingers crossed we might be able to get down there again at some point. :-)

Thanks Steve, a proper Fishing Video & not an overstocked Carp in sight! It's nice to have you back from the Dark Side! It's looking like the Fishing Gods have decided that you'll break your Roach PB when you are fishing for a completely different species!

Great video looks a cracking fishery and would love a go at catching those big Roach, but if it's syndicate only that's no good. I won't join any syndicates close to where I live let alone far, much prefer day ticket fishing different places. My mate caught a 3lb Roach on the River Severn last year, was s beauty.

Great video, I love Roach but nothing is quite like catching a big river Roach. Last September I had a Roach over a 1 1/2 lb from the river Wensum near Ringland, I didn't know there were still any like that in there these days. I was actually fishing for Chub.
I'm in my late 50s now and must have been fishing thousands of times. My most memorable session was on the River Ribble some 30 or so years ago. I had 25 roach weighing between 1lb and a personal best of 2lb 6oz. My friend on the next peg had a 2lb 15oz specimen that just blew me away.

Yes my dad had two 1 and a half pounders from the wensum just last year.

Thats mega mate! Big river Roach are special. Steve's biggest was actually caught on the river Yare, we filmed a video on the Pole Feeder and had some really good fishing. The video is on our channel if you haven't seen it. :-)
I noticed the reels Steve is using are Matrix Aquos, I have one of those reels but surely those that you're using are a different version with baitrunners? And what rods was he using?
Great video Steve, are those bite alarms the fox microns? I'm looking to get myself some new alarms without spending a fortune.
Thanks Lewis, glad you enjoyed it! Yeah they're the Microns, they're mega value for money. I had the old Microns for years and years (when I was a young'un!) they still work now, but decided to treat myself!

I caught a 2lb roach, my personal best, in the lake at Loughgall Country Park in Co. Armagh.

@@FromTheWatersEdgeTV Lough Erne is the place to go for roach and bream if you're ever over here and want a really big bag. There are absolutely mammoth shoals in there you can draw in by pre-baiting.
New to fishing. Question about river chub. Some days i fish floating bread and they take it all day and the next day nothing. Is this down to conditions or time or something?
Hi mate, it could be down to the weather/river conditions, air pressure. The fish could just not be hungry! Haha. If someone has fished the swim the day before and put lots of bait in etc There's so many variables, but I guess it's why it's called fishing and not catching. Haha! :-D
@@FromTheWatersEdgeTV thats a good point. Haha does the time of day effect it at all. Shame I got into fishing a week before the season stopped haha
