Oh man!! SO glad it helps you! I have shot all the film for the rebuild of the bottom end and am working on the top end this weekend. So, hopefully in the next couple of weeks, I'll have the full engine rebuild video up for you and your son to use. Many more vids coming on this bike over the summer too. Thanks for watching and taking the time to share such a nice comment!

Well, I stumbled across your channel while scrolling through RUclips. You explain everything very well. I posted a video about my 2003 Suzuki DRZ110 (basically KLX) but nobody has commented what could be the culprit of the noise and hard shifts at high rpm. I will use this video when I tear it down to check all my tolerances. Thank you much!

Thanks Jason. Checking tolerances is really boring, but it’s so important. It’s a procedure that should not be skipped

Hello Brian, enjoying your video series, they are very intuitive. Question for you, just finished up replacing the crankshaft with a kit. The replacement all went very well except for I discovered with the engine back in the bike all assembled, added new oil only to discover a small oil leak at the bottom of the split line. Took special care to clean the surfaces, acetone wipe and used Yamaha #4 gasket sealer, torqued per service manual, with a good squeeze out bead around mating surface. Not sure how I can remedy the leak without a complete teardown and reseal. Any suggestions outside of that. It is a Yamaha WZ250F by the way, thanks

First of all, bummer! So sorry for the trouble. As for remedies outside of splitting the cases, probably not! You can try draining the oil, leaning the bike on its side for a couple of days, then clean the leak area obsessively, then coat the area with the crankcase gasket material. But this is a band-aid and will likely not work forever. So sorry!

hay man thx for your informatic videos. appreciated
    .. i need help i have question :
i scuffed my crankcase mating surfaces and now its not even flattened as ican see light through. its about 4 dzm.
will RTV solve this or this will make leakage after a while !?!?
and somebody adviced me to use paper gasket .

Hi Minomad. The short answer is; no. Using RTV is not likely to last, especially if the defect is toward to bottom of the case. The proper fix is to TIG weld the affected area to build up the damaged area, then file the repair until flat with the mating surface. Sorry I don’t have better news.
