I've played aff lock since I started in BC. being a newb, I picked my class based on the lore alone, and was surprised when I found out that SL/SL build was one of the best class builds in the game. Constantly being top DPS, and able to survive wipes by summoning a voidwalker, sacrificing, and using a trinket to instantly pop another voidwalker made me feel like a god. and for multiple expansions I continued to play my lock despite massive nerfs. It's so exciting to see the aff lock getting such a boost in shadowlands. I know they'll balance it out more before release, but it's exciting.
I really love your 'in depth' videos! What do you think about that little change I suggest? ``Haunt mini-rework´´ I think that Haunt's healing should come back for more self-sustain, and also for making ''Haunt" a more competitive option, considering it's in the same tier as "dark caller". I also think that it fits the class fantasy of "healing by hurting others" like it was in wotlk. Also, appart from drain life which is baseline, the rest of self-sustain abilities that the warlock has are optional and weaker compared with their Tier competitors (like siphon life competing with agony or corrution options or phantom singularity competing with vile taint). I also think that the healing wouldn´t be overpowered but it would feel extremely nice for sure. I found the description of the ability in wotlk, here it is: [i]Haunt. You send a ghostly soul into the target, dealing X Shadow damage and increasing all damage done by your damage-over-time effects on the target by 20% for 12 sec. When the Haunt spell ends or is dispelled, the soul returns to you, healing you for 100% of the damage it did to the target.[/i] In top of that, I would like to see a reworked animation of Haunt because, actually, it's just a white balloon that travels straight to the enemy, nothing really spectacular... I do/did really like the fantasy of self-healing through our damage as Affliction, we used to have a lot more of it and was really cool. Wotlk Haunt was much more interesting back then to me, getting that reverse haunt back at you to give you a heal was a cool fantasy thing on top of being quite useful especially in PVP. Although then you have to take in mind the uptime for the dmg increase and etc which would go against that. That said, yes Huant could use a graphical update :p
I love Aff lock, I benched him totally in BFA as I hated the play style relying on dark glare. It seems like the tuning seems a little bit more how I’d like my lock to feel. Deffo considering lock again for my ranger char.
leveling my first lock and i find it to be a lot a preparation for little reward, so like i have to dot all the mobs, then focus on one mob to dump all my crap on, it just seems to be to much bs, when on my warrior i can just run in cleave and nuke whatever i want, i enjoy affliction in open world questing with my void walker, but in 5 man its just annoying.

So affliction is going to be one of Shadowlands S tier classes, I wonder in what ways players will exploit the specs lack of weakness.

MM is definitely my first alt. It would have been anyhow, but at least I'm excited about it

I would trade malefic rapture with soul swap without thinking tho.
Malefic rapture as only ability to use shards is quite boring for me.
