When I was deciding on what kind of equipment to buy Eric's videos really helped. I was split between JD and Kubota and then Eric posted how his Kubota got plugged up and I decided to get a John Deere. I was posting my findings on a tractor forum and everybody criticized me for criticizing Kubota, they started assuming it was Eric's fault, that he probably got sloppy and allowed dirt into the line and Kubota cannot be the one to blame. I responded: "Eric is a mechanic and he knows how to operate machinery, something is wrong with those Kubotas". and now sure enough, Eric got to the bottom of it; Kubota's design is poor. But Eric not only found out what is wrong with that model, he also offered a solution. Bravo. I'm glad though that I went with John Deere though. Thanks Eric.
Thats great news and helpful! Sadly many equipment companies didnt mention about issue for fuelling. Thank god my excavator (Kobelco) have a fine mesh on the fuelling port, but i was renting many other equipment and a lot of them dont have!
Got mine about a month or so ago and thus far so good ! Didn’t notice any slow down in filling tank from a 5 gallon can. This should help with a little more filtration. Have a Blessed Day
I have one of these filter in my BX2680, someone else...hmm Messick's did a video a while back about this as well. But its not just a Kubota issue, every piece of equipment out there has this problem in one place or another. Don't blame Kubota alone...don't matter what color you bought, you'll have a fuel issue at some point due to junk getting in your fuel tank.
I live very close to a gas station. I did this, and though I like it, I can warn that you do have to pump slowly from a gas station pump if you are pumping directly. You may not have this problem from a can though.
Great tip... I'll see if I can find a fine mesh of some sort for my walk behind mower. Debris getting into the gas tank and eventually in the carb bowl can end up being a hassle for sure. You would think all gas tanks would have something we could periodically pull out of the filler hole to clean out any thing that could easily fall into the tank. Believe we have an aftermarket idea here. Thanks again!!
Great tip. Amazing you found that exact fix. Not good news for the Kubota Dealers service department I guess. That said you would think Kubota would have come up with this easy solution.
im going to buy one of those for my BX2350. i had a problem with the tractor when i bought it used. i didnt pay the dealer, i went through the headache and removed the fuel tank myself. i found a little piece of foil in the tank (that the previous owner dropped in the tank). it was probably from a can of anti jell or fuel treatment. i dont want to do that job again.
Wow, briliant thinking!!!, who would have thought?. That filter looks like it was made specificly for that wide mouth opening. Is that filter manufactured from Stainless Steel?
LOL should have bought a New Holland, they already have screen filters on the fuel tank. I can testify both my T6 and Workmaster 40 had them from day one when the dealer delivered them.
@@danharold3087 It goes to show motive in the design. Older tractors have had something like this, but some specific manager decided to omit the filter to save a buck on manufacturing. Some say if it doesn't contribute to new sales, then it shouldn't be included. Others see long term reliability as a value-added proposition for the brand that drives future sales. Which leads me to ask: what other important but easily overlooked feature was omitted?
@@PatrickKQ4HBD Not saying your wrong but I drove farm tractors in the 60s and 70s and don't recall gas or diesel tractors having screens on the tank filler. Maybe this is because farmers were using cartridge filters on the fuel storage tanks and fuel servers. Having a screen sure makes sense on smaller tractors like the BX. Ordered one from the amazon link. Arriving in July! LOL
WOW! What a great save for Kubota owners. Kubota owes you BIG time. A true gentleman and scholar. You and Jenn stay safe, well and cool.

I think the companies would prefer not to tell the things that could go wrong over time-
Even a harbor freight predator has a filter on the fill that comes standard. Nice hack! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!

That’s fantastic. It’s in my Amazon cart now for my BX2380. Thank you.

I can imagine that! The screen is so fine and the fuel is pretty thick.
Ordered one. The BX is a great little tractor.
Right on! I hope it will save you some hassles in the future
Where do I get filter and part number

Good point on the walk behind mowers for sure.

Lol, your right. Now the service dept mechanics are going to be sitting around like the Maytag repair Men!!!...lol🤣👍
@@ericdee6802 IMO, you have to work hard to design something you can't fix easy.
just bought it, thank you man 🙏
Glad I could help- Simple fix to save a ton of headaches
That's pretty slick! My one gas generator has a similar setup that came from the factory.
Excellent! An excellent suggestion for owners of Kubota mowers :)
Absolutely!
Awesome 👌 fix

Farpoint farms do you know were i can find any of the Tampa sweet cigars

IDK seems that is far from enough to base a tractor purchase decision on.

Thanks, will do!
I have a filter similar to that for the gas tank on my pressure washer.
I wish that all the fuel tanks have them, it would save so many headaches
Wow thanks for the tip, a bad oversight on their part for sure
Agreed!
10 4 that is OK. I will get me one. Thanks Eric. Ironman in Alabama 73s.
Yep, they are now unavailable. Kubota people ARE SNAPPING THEM UP.
thank you
you are welcome
Kubota management made a conscious decision to omit a vital piece of filtration. Looks like a class action lawsuit to me.
Typical, bone headed American response.

OK.

I bought it, it didnt fit.
Push. It's a really tight fit at the opening.
