Thanks for the videos, brings back such great memories, Scurlogue Champ most exciting greyhound I have ever watched. Ballyregan Bob best racer ever and was lucky to see last race at Hove.
I was there that night too Allen, I used to live in Goldstone Lane (next to the football ground). You are right, there is nothing to stir the memories like Scurlogue Champ - what a dog that was.
As a massive Scurlogue Champ fan I was a tad resentful of BB at the time but he was truly a great hound. Happy days when greyhound racing was in the public consciousness.
I was there that night he broke the record at Hove. Did anyone notice that the straights at Hove (back then in the mid-1980's) were grass? The race times were very quick on grass and the form was very reliable.
Good old Bob. Bet small on him 1 race, he won, bet a days wage on his next race, he came third. Cured my gambling potential addiction right at the start.
@@brianmatthews9461 No, that was before, he had past his greatness period by the time I put my bet on. Thank you Bally Bob for saving me from a gambling addiction, rest in doggie heaven.
His ending was so sad. They had him stuffed like a trophy n sent him to the museum, a modern day freak show along with Mick Miller. Laws must be change to stop these freak shows.
Completely agree with you. Heartbreaking, disrespectful and Disgraceful to have him stuffed and Exhibited in a bloody glass cage. He deserves a burial. Hope everyone involved in that decision suffered their own Karma.
A champion and a true good boy. May he RIP

George Curtis, a legend. All the tracks are now going, it’s heartbreaking
Why are they going ?
@@DisobeyZOGoutside of a couple countries dog racing brings absolutely no money anymore. Other sports dominate the betting market.
Great comment Chris, perfectly described
