    What a horse. Growing up in NZ in those days you didn’t get to see the big Australian races. I believe he was only average over here before moving to WA and we never saw him again.

      Bill Horn (owner) never left Australia with him. Even though he was purchased from NZ.

      Doubtful any horse at that time could have beaten Village Kid in this race from anywhere, but a dreadful drive from Knight, I watched it at the time and it left me scratching my head, you have a trail on a horse that's running what at the time were blistering quarters to move off the fence and sit outside. One of the worst drives I've seen in a major race in Australia.

      Bag limit would have finished 2nd at best. Nothing would have beaten the kid that night
