Thank you for this guide!! I’m almost 30 and I’ve never had hair before. I’ve had a buzz cut all my life and i finally grew hair during quarantine but i have no clue what to do with it and it gets in the way. I loved Ivar’s braids and i want my wife to try and learn this to do for me!!!!

@@ngelrodz I’ll let you know! I’ll have her try it in the next few days. My only concerns are that my hair is very thick and very curly. (Not like Afro curly but very curly for a Caucasian guy) so I’m hoping it won’t be too difficult. My hair also isn’t in the best condition. I don’t really know how to wash hair or have any products besides what my wife has told me. Shampoo everything but only condition the hair and not the roots to stop oil overproduction or something and basic stuff like that. It’s shoulder length now and i still have no clue what I’m doing since it’s ALWAYS up in a bun (or before it was long enough, tucked away with a hat on.) what women (and men with long hair) don’t realize is how annoying hair can be for someone who has never had it. I’m not used to dealing with it getting in my face, tickling my ears and neck etc. Even after almost 2 years i can’t get used to it and i hate it but i refuse to shave it since i spent so long growing it. So braids are my last resort haha
That’s why I cut my long hair. I had it always in a bun, & had the same issues as you, also the heat in my country is horrible. It took me some time to grow it, but I was really tired of my look & routine. I felt like a slave, I needed a change.
@@ngelrodz i totally understand. The heat is one aspect that had never even occurred to me until i grew hair. It’s rough sometimes because my hair is extremely thick and it’s about as dark as a Caucasian can have. Unless you stood me next to an Asian you’d probably think my hair was black. It definitely isn’t fun.
@@ngelrodz also I’ve always wanted to dye my hair, do you know if that’s possible? (Without ruining my hair) given that i have close to jet black hair? I’ve seen videos before and i know Asians can do it for some reason but it seems inconclusive for caucasions with dark hair from what I’ve read

Llevo un año y 3 meses dejándolo que creesca mi cabello y estaba pensando en cortarmelo el cabello pero ahora viendo estos días tipos de peinados e decidido no cortarmelo, quiero probar muchos peinados diferentes. Braids & twist cannot be washed. They can last like a week or so.

I appreciate it! I didn’t know how to style my hair, & I think that was a little before I joined youtube (2015). So I started practicing & get to know my hair. I would say it took me some months, but each hairstyle has its trick. This hairstyle specially, it’s a good one to start with; Try twisting your from one point to another, like rolling up something on your finger. It’s just practice. Sending greetings!!

My girl tried to do them to me for the second time, but both times they come more loosy after like 30min of wearing them. I used medium strong hair gel for the second time, it came a little bit better but they get still loosened. She really tighten them and use a mini elastic at the end.

I think you need wax, for better results. Also, some elastics are better than others, so try to get the best quality.
I do thid hairstyle everyday. I dont use any gel. I got small lastics, so i do like 3 turns.
But maybe you're twisting the hair wrong.
When i first started i did it on wet hair. i recommend the same

What is the best type of wax to use? Strong hold?
It depends for what you need it. If you need to hold certain style, yeah, strong hold is the best. If you need the hair to be flexible, you should go with 2-3/5 hold. Also the brands matters also. But for this hairstyle, you should be fine with a small portion of any wax accesible, or maybe even moose/creme.

Ahora si! Entonces debes hacer mas particiones, empezando por lados. La misma técnica a los lados también.
