nice one! gotta learn to play with a pick, currently I use only fingers and I'm not too good with the little piece of plastic... Could you tell me what picks do you use? I can't decide which one to choose, the 1mm Dunlop Tortex or 3mm stumpy's...
Hi,Im not fussy about picks but they are usually larger in size to guitar picks. If you look at Gibson picks, they have a black selection,i go for the largest and they're quite thick,3mm sounds good to me.
@zynorg The zoom is ok but never used anything else to compare with,It does all sorts but too complcated for me so don't really mess around with settings etc.A lot of the preset distortion effects sound the same to me.Its has a tuner.is it worth getting? suppose so if its cheap.......Sorry if thats not much help!!!!!
Lemmy uses marshalls,if they are bass heads and cabs im not sure.I played through a crappy Lany 65w combo and just used the effects pedal just to get a different sound.Cheers
i read somewhere that lemmy doesn't even use a distortion pedal its just that he puts everything all the way up and it creates a fuzz sound and i think he uses guitar amplifiers is this true? oh btw nice bass cover!
yes! i've read that lemmy uses a marshall bass amplifer(very old model with a marshall distorsion!) and puts up the middle like you have said ;)thanks!!!
Hi,it took me a few weeks on and off to master this solo,it was getting the timing right on those high notes towards the end of the solo took some practice.Depending which cd you listen to,the solo can vary.Motorhead tabs can be found on bassmasta and also on catch my smoke.Cheers
i am pretty shure he is just using his marshall stack. He turns bass and treble all the way down and put on middle to full. or opposite, cant remember. try it, and tell me how it worked!
Yeah, its a great solo, takes a bit of practice figuring it out but once you've got it its not that hard. Will be posting the bass solo to Lost in the Ozone soon, another great solo
Hi,thanks for your kind comments. The stickers i made myself, how sad am i???? Don't know why that website is unavailable, its been like that for a while, shame, lots of tabs on there. Its a hard solo to master, especially if you listen to the studio version.Think Lemmy plays something different everytime you hear a live version, long as i could get close to a decent effort then i was happy.Cheers
Hi,15s to 27s for me was the easy part,it was just getting the timing right after that i found the hardest. If you look at the bass tab for the solo, the first part isnt that hard.Ref Lost in the Ozone, ive got most of that sorted, just gotta work at the end part from the highest note then down to where the vocals come back in,i know the notes just got to get the timing and finger technique sorted. At the moment i cant post anyting else on here.Good luck figuring out
Hi,its a Kramer bass guitar, ive had it 10 years or so,where i got it from I can't remember.I bought it second hand.Jackson do a similar shaped bass,Dave Ellefson(Megadeth) usually plays them.Wouldn't mind one to replace my Epiphone Thunderbird. Don't mind negative comments from people who can play better then me or have something constructive to say, fair enough...as you can see, there's some wankers on here. Cheers mate
Pick or fingers, can't see what all the fuss is about. Some of my fave bass players use picks,Lemmy,Jason Newstead,Cliff Williams(mostly),Gene Simmons.Yes,some great bass players use their fingers ie Steve Harris,Cliff Burton. Its all down to personnel taste,i've tried using fingers and i personnally don't like that style plus i ain't any good at it. Some songs fit the finger playing style ie AC/DC'S The Jack and some songs sound better with a pick ie Ace of Spades. Cheers
Trousers and Ben Sherman shirt......thats what i call rock n roll.Hold on whilst i throw my tv out of the window. Think i filmed it during my lunch break from work or something.
Dementedmole: "because he's a guitarist, the first motorhead album they had to record again because it had no bass, so lemmy decided to be bassist." * * This just proves you talk out your ass. Lemmy switched from guitar to bass for HAWKWIND on a LIVE SHOW. He formed Motorhead AS A BASSIST. Educate before speaking. (PS: The bass guitar was designed with the intention of using a pick.)
gantzmetallica says: "I'm a whiny moron that knows nothing of history. I don't even know that the electric bass was designed with the intention of pick use. Look at me bitch about picks, Wah-wah-wah."
Great job!

A website called bassmasta has the tab on there as well as other Motorhead tabs.
Lemmy uses marshalls,if they are bass heads and cabs im not sure.I played through a crappy Lany 65w combo and just used the effects pedal just to get a different sound.Cheers
What is the effect that Lemmy use?? what's the name of the pedal??
Hi,i used a Zoom 3000B which has various sounds,i can't remember which sound that im using here.Thought i'd try something a bit different.
i read somewhere that lemmy doesn't even use a distortion pedal
its just that he puts everything all the way up and it creates a fuzz sound
and i think he uses guitar amplifiers
is this true?
oh btw nice bass cover!
Hi. Whats the brand of strings that you are using? Thanks

@tudorsk8 Yes its a Kramer bass,Ive had it years
yeah!))) by the Nine! coool!) \m/
i am pretty shure he is just using his marshall stack. He turns bass and treble all the way down and put on middle to full. or opposite, cant remember. try it, and tell me how it worked!
I also did the same. Works pretty well, it sounds quite similar to Lemmy, with some differences here and there, but ok overall.
is that a solo?
Anyway, to use a pick it's fine... many great bass players have used picks.
Yeah, its a great solo, takes a bit of practice figuring it out but once you've got it its not that hard. Will be posting the bass solo to Lost in the Ozone soon, another great solo

i'm going to try that song to doesn't look really dificult
give it a while, you'll hate guitar too, when you realize that effort & time are required.

I mean thats your opinion but there is no need for that kind of post on a guys vid of a tight and solid solo
Keep useing a pick... i do it too,
well done, u need lemmys amp and long hairs and we can change you, noone would noitice it
Don't play one or watch vids with bass in then.....simple as that!!!!
that sentence was actually pretty stupid
