    My Chrysler Neon SE has been by far the most reliable car I've ever owned. I've since upgraded to a Subaru 2.5 turbo but I still really miss that Neon. Oh the memories and the journeys in that car!

      I am not going to sell mine, Chrysler Neon LX, automatic. Its now at 325000kms, but its amazing! Not sure why and i found it funny that people always move to slow lane when i am driving behind them on the highways LOL

      I just watched this video and read this comment and I'm like "Wow, I had an SE and I once upgraded to a Subaru 2.5" and then I realised it was my comment from 7 years ago.... Mind blown! Oh I still miss my Neon SE! I wonder if I'll watch this video in another 7 years and read this again and not realise at first.

    I had a Chrysler Neon for a couple of years,possibly 1 of the best cars IV ever owned,why Americans say its a crap car I will never know....fully loaded for £800

      Agreed! I bought one (Chrysler Neon LX, Auto) here in Cape Town for ZAR 28000 back in 2015. Most are sold for ZAR45000. The car is unbelievable, very reliable. I am servicing it myself now, no major problems than just replacing certain parts after so many years it's been running..

    My wife has had the same RT from new, it's now 16 years old and she just won't part with it. It's been tremendously reliable and it's also pretty fast. I got one new on 02, at the time it's styling and equipment spec were way ahead of the Focus unless you spent a lot more money, mine was £14K new company car and I loved it. I will agree it has a lot of road noise but other than that it was an excellent car if a little thirsty. Even today the car looks fresh and sporty, it's a shame we never got the SRT-4 in the UK, I would have loved one of those. The Crossfire was an upgrade for a small sporty car, the SRT-6 with 330BHP was a real mover, but with only two seats it was totally impractical for the family, the RT however, could seat 5 in comfort. It's a shame that this little sports car from the States is much maligned and there is a lot of snobbery and arrogance from us Brits about American sports cars that I find tiresome. I would buy another today if I could find a low mileage black RT, but they are like rocking horse poo now.

    My Neon is 17 years old and I cosider it an excelent car. It is very comfortable and reliable. I realy can't understand people who are complaining about it. I, as a mechanical engineer, appreciate meny of it's qualities.
    I bought it 7 years ago for almost one third of the price of VW Golf of the same production year (2002.).
    It is powerfull, well equipped and I really enjoy driving it.

    God damn it. Just as a lot of other reviews of the day, the time has shown. The rivals of the car are out of the question as used cars to be bought. Neon despite it's rust problems stays strong. Automatic boxed and engines still kicking.

    It looks like this neon was retired in 2017. Untaxed and expired MOT Feb 2017

    Had one of these as a rental in LA. Drove it to Vegas and back. Yes it was a cheap car but so was the rental price. Didn’t dislike it.

    Got an 02 RT from new, still have it. Does not cost much to service, still like new only done about 90000miles. Won't sell it. Compared to some of the cars in it's class it got more leg room and space in the back.

  • @MrROTD

    People scoff at it but I bought one and it's been great other than idling rough which seems to be a problem with these cars, if I could find a mint one I would buy one again mine is getting worn out, the srt 4 turbo version is a quick car

    • @alexlevy322
      @alexlevy322 6 лет назад

      It needs a new brake master cylinder and a new clutch slave cylinder if it is a manual transmission.

  • @franciscorodriguez3141

    "that little american trick" wait is pressing the clutch before starting the car an american thing only?? wtf?!! I'm sure I've heard of european cars with that, no??

    • @kofola9145
      @kofola9145 6 лет назад

      I believe so. You do not have to press the clutch to start a car, unless you have a speed already in.

    • @pepevonkek7803
      @pepevonkek7803 6 лет назад

      Depends what car you have. Automatic cars usually like break pedal to be pressed. Manual cars, just key. Of course there are libtards who ruin planet for everybody else, so there can be some safetytards who require clutch to start the vehicle
