The science is not just the explanation "who cares about it". Understanding how the body responds to exercise, the psychology of exercise, the biomechanics etc. will improve programming as well. Programming should be an evidence-based "art". Would you go to a doctor of the middle ages who did not know how the human body works? I m sure he had plenty of art based on experience, but I m equally sure most people would not go to such doctor these days. We should use the science to improve programming
