@@DarthChief1995 A few years can feel like such a long time ago when you get busy or when things get absolutely crazy in life. The Force Awakens debuted about 7 years ago, and TROS and The Mandalorian debuted about 3 years ago, but it feels like such a long while since those days cheering in the theater for SW movies. And after the stuff that’s made everything go crazy in the world from 2020 onwards, those fun days of the ST hype/fun and the action and excitement of the Mandalorian back in 2019 can feel genuinely nostalgic.

I love, that they actually had an idea which aliens to recycle for the show. They used species like Mimbanese, Hassks, Kyuzo, Rodians, Twi'leks, Weeqays, Gamorreans, Niktos, Ugnaughts, Zabraks, Kubaz, Onodones, Quarren, Silvasu Fis species, Trandoshans, Mon Calamari, Jawas, Tusken-Raiders, Devaronians and I could go on for ages. It's just species, that are common in the galaxy. Even such small details are well planned out. Truly a blessing for Disney+.

Book of Boba Fett and Kenobi are two actually underrated shows, especially Kenobi. It felt like people just wanted to scratch up all the negatives and mostly ignored the positives about the series. Jedi: Fallen Order is pretty great too. Can't say much about the gameplay, but I know the story through Let's Plays mostly. Can't say much about Battlefront II, since I watched Let's Plays of that game over 5 years ago and remember literally nothing about the story. Fight me, but Resistance wasn't half bad either. Some people think it's just "that dumb little-kids show", but that's really just the surface. It's much deeper than you think, it has serious commentary on slow takeovers of facist regimes. Even if it's actually Non-Canon, Visions was a very fresh, artistic take on Star Wars and proved, that this is literally everything we need. Sure, I can't deny Andor had some great stuff as well, but there people seem to completley ignore the flaws of the show. The overuse of recycled species, that there are so much sub-plots going on at once, which really hurts the pacing, that a galaxy potrayed this dark doesn't have any criminals (No, I don't count Andor himself, because he turns a rebel at the end) seemingly, the fact, we are spending so much time in the ISB-center or with Syril, for..what exactly, Saw Gerrera didn't have a whole lot to do either, he's just there for a subplot, that archieves...what exactly, Luthens speech is actually riddled with holes, most of the characters were alright on their own, but besides B2 not actually memorable, the cinematography was not above Boba Fett and Kenobi, in fact it was a lot worse on many points, the whole series is extremly semi-emotional, which is maybe ok for Thrawn-books, but not as a TV-show with the goal to appeal to a wider audience. But even besides that, there are a lot of decent books and an even greater amount of truly amazing comics. So, no, we got so much more good content actually, but people are just missing out on it.

I really love all the moments where Din takes off his helmet, both in season 1 and 2. Season 1's moment shows that he trusts IG-11 to some degree, mainly because it's his only way out, yes, but at the same time, it is a baby step.
Season 2 on the other hand flips everything on its head, I think it was a bit predictable looking back that Din would take off his helmet at some point, it's more when that's surprising. Instead of it being a beautiful moment between him and grogu, the first people he has to take his helmet off around are his enemies and a person who he mistrusts. You can really see how shaken he is, and to give credit to Mayfield, the guy realizes how terrified he must be, and covers by saying he didn't see anything. It's probably my favorite moment in the entire show because of how scary and unceremonious it is.

I was late to the party viewing the Mandalorian but fortunately, the reveals had not been spoiled for me. I didn’t even know who Pedro Pascal was. But that opening scene totally sold me on the show. My favorite episodes were the ones directed by Rick Famuyiwa. All the trials Mando went through just for the bounty in epi. 2 showed his tenacity, skill, ruthlessness, and the beginnings of teaming with others. Using a puppet for the child is perfect. One of my favorite scenes is Cara beating the snot out of Mando. I’m missing her character already but consequences! Honestly most of my favorite scenes are when Din opens up a can of woo pass on the trandoshans, the bounty hunters, storm troopers, Moff Gideon etc.

The first season was SUCH a fun time, there was so much hype going around back then. Just thinking back about it gives me goosebumps.
I love a lot about Season 1. It feels so much like Star Wars and what it should be and was the perfect introduction to live action television for the franchise. It had great action, great characters and visuals, lots of cool designs, and a killer story to boot!
First off, I love the dynamic with Din and Grogu, a mercenary thrown into a paternal role that he is so out of his depth taking on. Watching them bond throughout the season, in the big and small moments, was a highlight of the season and seeing Din begrudgingly find a place in his heart for this child he rescued. I also just love the intrigue around Grogu and seeing a member of Yoda's species. His cute little antics never get old, it's hard not to focus on how funny and mischievous he is. The moment where he holds back the flames with the Force is freaking awesome and one of my favourite scenes from this whole series.
Kuiil was one of my favourite characters in this season. I have spoken. I really enjoyed Nick Nolte's voice acting combined with Misty Rosas's physical performance, it felt so perfect. I was so bummed when he died but I'm glad that what he taught Din has continued to guide him in later episodes. IG-11 was also just fantastic. The way he moves and shoots is awesome and it was so cool to see everything with him and Din change thanks to Kuiil's repairs and reprogramming. Getting to see him take on all the Stormtroopers with Grogu in a pouch was a highlight of the season as well. I love Carl Weathers as Greef Karga, he's a perfect fit in the universe and I get so stoked whenever he makes an appearance. I've also loved how passionate Carl gets about the character and Star Wars in general and how much he's been getting into it online, it's just a joy to see. Same goes for Ming-Na Wen and her passion for Fennec Shand. I'm so glad she got to return in Season 2 and The Book of Boba Fett. She's another amazing character the series has brought to Star Wars.
The Client was an great character for me as well. Just something about the way Werner Herzog delivered his lines was so interesting and weird and felt so right within Star Wars. He made a great Imperial character and I was kinda bummed he got killed off in the penultimate episode although Moff Gideon has since won me over. I was just expecting the Client to be the main villain for the whole series so I had to make some mental adjustments. Gideon is also a great character and villain for the show and Giancarlo Espositio has been crushing it. I also like how much he's into his character as well. The Darksaber reveal made my jaw drop. Never in a million years did I think something like the Darksaber would ever appear in a liveaction series, it just seemed like it was never going to happen. It raised so many questions but as a fan of TCW and Rebels, I felt so vindicated in that final scene when it was revealed.
I enjoyed everything this season had to offer. If I had to pick, my favourite episodes of this season would have to be the first, second, fourth, third, seventh and eighth. I'll shout out the fourth episode specifically for Bryce Dallas Howard's excellent directing and the Jurassic Park callout with the AT-ST, which was very fitting. I love videos like this looking back on stuff we've gotten and just enjoying the fun and wonder of the Star Wars galaxy!

Nice breakdown! I think Sanctuary, in particular, is an underrated episode. I love how peaceful Sorgan is (apart from the raiders), and the change in the music. It's interesting in that Din is running from his recent past, but doesn't really get the idea of settling down somewhere and then holding your ground when trouble comes.
I think it has a bit more impact after The Bad Batch, not just in the echo of Hunter wanting Omega to live with Cut and Suu, but also in the recent episode on Kashyyk when he lamented that the kids don't get to just be kids. Getting to Sanctuary in my rewatch recently, I even got a little emotional when Omera almost takes off Din's helmet -- just thinking about where Din comes from and what that moment could mean, that prospect, but also the kind of tragic element in the danger that catches up to him in that same moment.
And of course, the AT-ST is very cool, and still intimidating. I love the moments of hearing it approach the village, and then just seeing the eyes through the trees.

This is well timed; I'm up to The Passenger in my own rewatch. It's been great to revisit everything (even as I'm now watching Andor for the first time). I enjoy the middle portion of the season more than I did previously. I think those episodes work pretty well together in showing Din on the run and unsure of where he's going.
I still got emotional at multiple points in Redemption: the flashback, IG-11's sacrifice, and a little bit when Grogu stops the fire. To highlight a moment that's just cool, the way Din takes down Gideon's TIE is almost the same thing Bo-Katan does in Rebels.

The Mandolorian S1 & S2!along with Andor was indeed the best we had from StarWars since the Original. Not to mention the animations Clone Wars and Rebels are up there, In My humble objective opinion, from the love of the graphic novels and old school Star Wars tales, this came the closest… Now season 3 is another case. There of course is an audience that doesn’t even like the first season, but after so many failures, it’s not surprising many people have lost hope and are very jaded. Good call on the details in all the Easter eggs for the hard core fans and traditionalist. We can have 100 super Star Wars traditionalists break down all these details over and over again and all come to the same conclusion that Madalorian season 1-2 serviced the fandom truly.

I'm not sure I actually agree with your saying it was totally fine for Andor to be "more grounded".
It's still Star Wars. The tone can vary by a *lot*, but it can't be snobby. It can't treat the universe it's in with disdain, and hide the aliens like they're gross childish toys for the other directors to play with. It can be grounded, but it has to be grounded in the world of Star Wars, not ours.
Like with the MCU, they had the decency to acknowledge the less popular movies in Endgame, too. And I don't think Star Wars should be different. Canon seems to have very deliberately avoided mentioning Midichlorians again, and honestly, I despise that.
