When you replace or clean the egr valve, you may as well remove inlet manifold to clean and replace gaskets. Ideally cleaning inlet bore on block too if confident enough. Great videos.. thanks
@Dosedmonkey They are quite easy to remove... just try to ensure you don't drop too much carbon into the bores when cleaning. Ideally using compressed air to blast down each bore, alternatively using a rag pushed down with a screwdriver. Search transit inlet manifold removal on RUclips. Should find something
Thanks for these two videos - i have the exact same error code and a loss of power when pulling off with my van. Do you think a good squirt of carb cleaner could bring it back to life? It obviously gets clogged with carbon over time, surely giving it a good clean out should bring it back to life?
@@ResurwreckAutosUK Was thinking i might just book it in with one of those carbon cleaning services and hope it works. Seems a much cheaper option and will likely see benefits elsewhere - ill ask them about the EGR when booking :)
My van is a 2.2 RWD and although I've got the EGR valve loose, it won't come out of the engine bay. Upwards it won't come past the inlet manifold and downwards the Cooler is in the way. Any advice appreciated!
My auto mechanic broke the screw that holds the agr pipe. The opposite side of the side where the hose connects to the EGR valve. Now he refuses to repair it because too much work?!! Everything has to be removed to get to that broken screw. My question is, is that screw broken in the engine block or does the EGR hose screw directly onto the turbine? My van is whistling right now. Strength is also questionable. Need to fix that, but if it's broken in the turbine, they say I have a big problem, if it's a block engine, then it's not a big problem. What do you think? Greeting
Hi maté sounds like a big problem I would definitely get the mechanic to sort that out tell him you will report him to trading standards I fill you pain buddy it’s a big job stripping it all out sounds like you will need to replace the egr valve
How long did it take? took my AWD transit into the garage they have had it for a whole day then some and they said that because it's a 4x4 they couldn't get it from underneath like they would with a 2wd so coming in from the top takes longer.

Hi. Ive just had my egr replaced on mine. 2007 2.4 transit. At low revs still sluggish and loss of power. But nice and smooth after 2000revs. Any ideas. Ive had 3 egr valves in 5 years pn this van. Thank you
@@ResurwreckAutosUK hi thank you for reply. I had a new turbo put on a few weeks before new egr valve. As the old turbo had seized. Its an ebay one at £199 new. Is it possible a brand new after market turbo could be faulty. It kind of judders at low revs. 1500 - 2000 Black smoke. But when engine warm doesnt judder as much. Thank you

crankshaft sensor is ---looking at engine...drivers side....back behind manifold...close to exaust...you can just reach it as its reached from top...has electric plug on it...iv just had to get one for my 2002 2.4tdi ..as wont run /keeps cutting out instantly :( hope you find it...fella off forum sent me a pic of engine parts on (catcar.info....its great just put in ford etc and shows you where everything is )
pardon my ignorance, but what is limp mode? My van has had the management light on for about 6 years and its the egr valve coming up. just last week the brake symbol and the abs light and the esp light were on aswell the van started losing power as I was driving along city streets doing about 20 - 30 just briefly for a second or 2, 2 or 3 times every minute or so and the speedometer dial was dropping to zero and then going back up. Took it to garage in for 3 days before looking ( I know your all busy.) sorted the brake disc symbol thing but couldnt get the abs light the esp light to go out, told me it was some kind of problem with the abs module and on a van that age he would just ride it, he said it was safe just that the abs wouldnt work, but it is still losing power as I am driving along and the speed dial is still flicking up and down. any body got any ideas what it could be.
@Matt Anderson l am not really sure tbh. I can't even remember what he said there was a number of issues. I was looking under the bonnet and noticed like a loose rubber hose that after the repair had some kind of nipple or connection replaced. I'll look out the invoice see if it says anything
Hi Matt sorry that was something else in regards to the start stop and losing power it was the earth terminal just to the right of the battery on to the chassis or body of the van was corroded
I just cleaned and reconditioned one, checked it for functionality using a battery, works fine. But still getting the same error when refitted. Know anyone with knowledge of checking the wiring harness?
didnt see you showing the coolent draining out? Or how you managed to drain it etc....these are the things people want to know. Removing bolts is simple , so i would of put more into technical bits. thanks anyway. i learnt where its situated and what it looks like
@@ResurwreckAutosUK as far as I am aware, as long as it doesn't cause the EML to come on it should be fine, there's no way it can be checked if the egr is blanked off or not (that's just my understanding)

Can you erase the light with the OBD2 if you use an EGR blanking plate?
