I had a similar problem with a transit years ago, on tic over the engine was hunting.. slightly reving up and down. A local garage said the egret valves needs replacing which they did, it didn't make a difference. I took it to an independent Ford specialist, he done an update on the van with the Ford IDS computer, problem solved, it drove like a new van.
pardon my ignorance, but what is limp mode? My van has had the management light on for about 6 years and its the egr valve coming up. just last week the brake symbol and the abs light and the esp light were on aswell the van started losing power as I was driving along city streets doing about 20 - 30 just briefly for a second or 2, 2 or 3 times every minute or so and the speedometer dial was dropping to zero and then going back up. Took it to garage in for 3 days before looking ( I know your all busy.) sorted the brake disc symbol thing but couldnt get the abs light the esp light to go out, told me it was some kind of problem with the abs module and on a van that age he would just ride it, he said it was safe just that the abs wouldnt work, but it is still losing power as I am driving along and the speed dial is still flicking up and down. any body got any ideas what it could be.
Hi buddy I’ve got the same problem, I’ve had mine on for 3 years, now a new MOT. Centre won’t pass it until it’s done. Have you tried to turn the Light out. It won’t work on the reader and was wondering if you knew of any other way of turning it out Regards Paul
I understand that if the gasket slow because it’s a pressurized system the it messes up a bunch of stuff and I don’t know what all it messes up but I imagine that that might be why the EGR is down because I have a 2018 transit van here in America or whatever and it has a bad EGR now but I recently ran it to where it had less than 30 miles to the tank so I understand that it’s that
A friend of mine removed the entire EGR system on his Mercedes Sprinter and got 20 - 30% lower fuel consumption, have heard many other also get similar reduction on other brands of cars also...
Hi. I've got a machanic changing the EGR valve. For some reason while doing this he has soaked the whole engine with engine oil. Not sure if he knows what he is doing. Is this a normal thing that happens when changing or is he messing up my van? Thanks.
It might be worth running Terraclean through the engine and changing the EGR Valve again. I think it's about £150-200 to get a garage to do this. Did this to mine and the light has stayed off so far. Running like new.
I get the brake system light and the stability control light at the same time ,then goes into limp mode 🤷🏻♂️ , I’ve had It round about 6 garages and none of them know what’s going on 🙄 one said it was egr valve then another said it’s not , someone have any idea?
Hi did you ever get your van sorted, mine has the same lights on the dash aswell as a spanner,, it's not going in to limp mode as yet, but cuts out sometimes, then starts straight back up,,,any information would be a grate help, iv only had it a few weeks, but love it

Hi how is your egr valve is it sorted now ? I'm gonna have to do mine as eml light comes on and then it goes into limp mode because of it , looks a pig but doable , thanks for showing me where it is .

@@jordanscott7931 Hi mate , I always use mr muscle oven cleaner and spray all the valve and leave for an hour then wash off , depending how bad it is you can give it a 2nd or 3 rd clean and it will come up like new , just make sure you get in the port where the valve lifts up and down and it will be sorted..👍
I understand it to be the think it’s it it’s a 12 gallon sorry 12 quarts of oil five cylinder diesel I think it’s a 3.2 or 3.1 I’m not sure I understand that it’s something is called a puma it might be my exhaust system I’m not sure but the dealership reset the light because I had a little lot they say that it might not be under warranty and I might have to pay the cost for the diagnosis and the replacement about a 50-50 chance that it’s under warranty I can’t afford that right now and yeah so I’m thinking that I’m gonna leave the check engine light on and not idle it for hours and hours on end anymore
@@ResurwreckAutosUK If your valve is OEM then stick on one of the cheap ones temporary and give your original a really good clean until it’s like new , test it to make sure its opening and closing properly and then stick it back on and keep the cheapo valve in case you need to do it again in a years time..👍
