Trump tried to remain in power to avoid the other pending lawsuits against him. He just added the J6th stuff to it all and brought down many others with him.

Our Founders didn't include "immunity" for a president because that would make him/her a king/queen which was NOT in the cards for a country built on LAWS for every person.
They have some immunity, in that they cannot be sued civilly while serving that position.
There's no immunity for flagrant crimes.

And Trump only needs 4 SC Justices to agree to hear the case.

Immunity is not something the forefathers ever thought about. Qualified Immunity was invented by the court in 1967. And even then, the supreme court did not have the power to invent a new law.
Supreme Court cannot LEGISLATE, that is true. But the bulk of law is case law.
I'm in law school - we're not learning statutes and regulations, we learn Supreme Court rulings.
