Hi Steve, the sheet metal component you have extracted the middle surface is simple. And as I have noticed majority of the things work based on the surface pair. So if you can demonstrate the video for complicated plastic component using midsurface by face pairs as well as different NX modeling operations ( creating curves, surfaces ), it would be a great help.
