Famous American linguist Noam Chomsky has described the actions of the Israeli occupation in Palestine as “worse than South African apartheid”.“In the Occupied Territories, what Israel is doing is much worse than apartheid,” Chomsky says, according to Days of Palestine. “To call it apartheid is a gift to Israel, at least if by ‘apartheid’ you mean South African-style apartheid. “What is happening in the Occupied Territories is much worse. There is a crucial difference. The South African Nationalists needed the black population. That was their workforce… “The Israeli relationship to the Palestinians in the Occupied Territories is totally different. They just do not want them. They want them out, or at least in prison.”
In Israel Arabs have the right to vote, serve in parliament, are on the Israeli Supreme, give commands to Jews in the IDF, receive the same social security benefits and decided the most recent prime minister. But yet Israel is an apartheid state. OK LMAO. Arabs have more rights in Israel than anywhere else in the middle east. FACT. You are INSULTING all south Africans who suffered under the apartheid regime. In South Africa blacks and whites couldn’t walk on the same side of the street, eat in the same restaurants, go to the same schools and universities, let alone vote or sentence a Jewish prime minister and president to jail (which actually happened). Do you honestly think this sort of stuff happens in Israel? If you are referring to the treatment of Palestinians, might I remind you that the Palestinian Authority is in control of the west bank and Hamas seized the gaza strip and that they are responsible for their people. To suggest Israel must give citizenship and annex the west bank as someone suggested would be to violate binding international law signed between Israel and the Palestinians in the Oslo accords. Not to mention this is a very unpopular idea amongst Palestinians as then they cease being Palestinian and become Israeli, the same people they are indoctrinated to hate. Israeli's are not allowed to enter the gaza strip, but gazans can enter Israel. Where is the apartheid? In the west bank there are signs saying Jews shouldn’t go into certain areas because they might be killed. Where is the apartheid? There are over two million Arabs in Israel and yet Jews have fled from almost every single middle eastern country. Nearly all of which have racist laws discriminating against Jews. Where is the apartheid? Hamas and PA literally pay Palestinians and their families to murder Jews. Where is the apartheid?

Briefly, for the record: Palestine prior to the arrival of foreign Jewish Zionists: In 1882, Jewish land ownership in Palestine totaled only 0.09 per cent while 99.9 per cent was Arab Muslim and Christian owned or public and state land. (Clifford Wright, Facts and Fables, p.185),
Jews has always been in Judea, Samaria, Palestine, Israel, in small numbers and in big numbers. There were jews in Jerusalem, in Tzfat, in Hebron and alot more places. that is an inaccurate number the land was 6% jewish and nothing close to 90 on the arab side...but your are missing the point- the land the arabs had was happily SOLD by the arabs to jews who started to migrate back home- since the majority of the arabs there, were Jordanians who came to palestina to work- exactly like a foreign worker today, and send money back home- thats exactly why the majority sold the land to jews fair and square - they had no affiliation to the land other than work and profit -so they were happy to sell(with aprofit) the land that wasnt the land of their fathers to the people who wanted to return to the land of their fathers after numerous exiles throughout 3 millennias (which are well recorded).

The United States should end military aid to Israel 1. Israel can pay for its own military. Israel has a strong economy, an excellent international credit rating, and runs frequent budget surplus. Israel ran an annual surplus of more than a billion dollars six out of the last ten years. 2. Military aid to Israel is a security risk. Israel is a major supplier of military technology to China. These sales have been instrumental in the modernization of the Chinese military. Israel developed the Lavi fighter from American technology with 1.5 billion in American subsidies. Israel sold the Lavi fighter to China. It is now called the J-10 and is the mainstay of the Chinese Air Force. Israel has also sold China missile guidance systems,, advanced radar systems and targeting systems. 3. Israel is a diplomatic liability. 4. Military aid to Israel is illegal under the Leahy Law because of Israel's human rights violations. Any aid to Israel is illegal under the Symington amendment which prohibits aid to nations with nuclear weapons that have not signed the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and do not permit inspections of their nuclear sites

@@letXeqX You know as well as I know that RUclips will not allow either one of us to post links. But anyone who bothers to google "Israel budget surplus habit" will see that Israel has run a budget surplus while the United States paid for 20% of Israel's military budget.
The United States should CONTINUE military aid to Israel. 1. The giving of U.S. aid to Israel has very strong wide-spread bipartisan support. Surveys confirm that the majority of Americans see the wisdom of providing aid to our ally Israel. 2. The overwhelming majority of US aid to Israel is provided in the form of grants and loans for the purchase of military products that are manufactured in the USA. This helps boost the U.S. economy and creates many new American manufacturing jobs. 3. Israel is the only steadfast ally of the USA in the Middle East. Israel is always willing and ready to support our great country. Israel and the USA have a long successful history of critical covert military operations against Islamist Terrorists around the world. 4. US aid to Israel is also used to bolster valuable joint U.S.-Israeli research, development, and intelligence-sharing projects that result in new and highly effective ways to protect innocent American and Israeli lives from Islamist Terrorism. 5. The US and Israel are collaborating to develop cutting-edge, sophisticated missile-defense technologies (such as the David's Sling counter-rocket and the Arrow missile defense systems), which will be utilized by the U.S. and our allies to protect innocent civilians. 6. The USA and Israel are also collaborating on the joint-development of sophisticated technologies to combat the serious threat of “Cyber Warfare”. A portion of the aid to Israel is being utilized to create new sophisticated tools that will safeguard the data and technology resources of the US and our allies. 7. Israel has the very best intelligence gathering network in the world, and they regularly share crucial information with America. According to top Military leaders in the USA, access to Israeli Military Intelligence has helped to save numerous American lives. 8. Israel is our best and most profitable trading partner in the region. Although Israel is barely 3% of the population of the Middle East, it routinely purchases more than 35% of all US exports to the region. Also, many large USA corporations have established highly successful “technology incubators” and “think tanks” in Israel. American businesses have benefited enormously from Israeli innovations. 9. As a result of the peace agreements that emerged from the Abraham Accords, Israel is garnering new powerful partners in the region. Also, No Arab ally of the US has ever refused to cooperate with Washington on counter-terrorism activities or denied requests to access bases or overflight rights in reaction to the aid provided to Israel. Bottomline: Aid to Israel offers an excellent Return on Investment and it is highly favored by the majority of American citizens.

That was their workforce…
“The Israeli relationship to the Palestinians in the Occupied Territories is totally different.

There was even an ancient jewish community in Gaza. I wonder what happened to it...

that is an inaccurate number the land was 6% jewish and nothing close to 90 on the arab side...but your are missing the point- the land the arabs had was happily SOLD by the arabs to jews who started to migrate back home- since the majority of the arabs there, were Jordanians who came to palestina to work- exactly like a foreign worker today, and send money back home- thats exactly why the majority sold the land to jews fair and square - they had no affiliation to the land other than work and profit -so they were happy to sell(with aprofit) the land that wasnt the land of their fathers to the people who wanted to return to the land of their fathers after numerous exiles throughout 3 millennias (which are well recorded).

The United States should end military aid to Israel
So informative ,and interesting many thanks for sharing
israel has not run any budget surpluses. give a link to prove me wrong. the rest of it is all lies and half lies as well. and you keep copying and pasting this same comment all over the place.
@@JazzATrain Hmmm. Very detailed... but perhaps a bit cookie cutter (straight from a hasbara website?). His bias isn't far from Benji and the new Benji's, but while the devil's in the details, he pushed for what sounds like a pretty fair solution, notes Palestine rejected it, but doesn't begrudge them enough to stop campaigning for what's at least a lot better than Palestine is getting. Mehdi was way too aggressive to get Olmert to address his apartheid question with the answer he's hoping for; which was official condemnation of Israel as an apartheid State by a former PM; aka propaganda. Sounds like he was sold out by the far right to both Israel and Palestine's peril but still genuinely Loves and serves both nations. I'd like to see him get more political support for his peace proposals in Israel and Palestine and so should Mehdi.
You know very well Palestine will be free. The question is will it be all of Palestine or the 1967 Palestine. They say “if you want everything you will lose everything” As an American 🇺🇸I feel guilty for allowing the horrible crimes happening in Palestine 🇵🇸 We are awake and most of us today are willing to support Palestine. As human being you need to be ashamed. Most of the world is sick and tired of Israel’s 🇮🇱 arrogance.

Mehedi bro is right
.. and what about the extreme violence by illegal settlers ?... both sides should be prosecuted but illegal settlers are never prosecuted...
The difference between the crazy end of the Israeli society & the extreme end of the Palestinian society is that the Israeli crazies are a tiny .% & I’m the Palestinian society the crazies are upwards of 50%+. This conflict could have been resolved in 1948 with the Arabs accepting the UN Partition plan as the Jews did. End of story. 70% of British Mandatory Palestine became Jordan (that’s one Arab Palestinian state & the UN votes for another @ was rejected by the Arab world & they lost the war of annihilation against the nascent State of Israel & have been crying foul ever since.
@@zevnadel8516 today facts do show that zionist never accepted the partition, proof is the illegal occupation of palestinian territory as recognised by international law ... and thanks to the UK who had no legal right to give away a land that belonged to Palestinians to others, for history has it that Europe did not want zionists in Europe ... no wonder why double standards are applied ..

- [ ] You really do not know anything about history or international law.
- [ ] International Law - a body of rules established by custom or treaty and recognized by nations as binding in their relations with one another.
- [ ] In other words these are accepted conventions & binding only under signed treaty.
- [ ] According to ‘International Law’ Judea & Samaria are disputed territory whose ultimate disposition is to be negotiated by the parties to the dispute. Israel & The Palestinian Authority. Therefore not ‘occupied’ regardless of how you or anyone else refers to it.
- [ ] So, the governing authority after WWI the newly established League of Nation which was later supplanted by the United Nations. Since Great Britain was given the ‘Mandate’ for the Ottoman geographic area of Palestine they were the governing authority. France got Lebanon/Syria.
- [ ] That whole area was referred to as Syria/Palestina after the forced exile of the Jews Judea who revolted against Rome & the Romans tried to erase Jewish history in the area- Titus Caesar Vespasianus was Roman emperor from 79 to 81. A member of the Flavian dynasty, Titus succeeded his father Vespasian upon his death. Before becoming emperor, Titus gained renown as a military commander, serving under his father in Judea during the First Jewish-Roman War.
- [ ] Jews have always had a connection & lived in the area for 3000 years. Archeology proves that.
- [ ] Israel has offered a negotiated peace with the Palestinians 8 times in the last 70 years & have been rebuffed each and every time.
- [ ] Judea & Samaria are the biblical names for what is referred to as ‘The West Bank’. In fact the UN Partition plan refers to them that way in the plan. The Plan called for a Jewish state with an Arab minority & an Arab state with a Jewish minority. The flag of Palestine was a 1/2white-1/2blue with a Star of David. The term for Jews as Jews is a reference to Judea. Arabs of the area didn’t refer to themselves as ‘Palestinian’ until 1964 when the KGB propaganda machine & Yasser Arafat came up with the idea.
- [ ] Israel has always been ready for peace and the Arabs (now called Palestinians) have not.
- [ ] During the Ottoman Empire the area was a backwater of the empire & the land was own by absentee landlords living in other areas. Jews who arrived from the 1850’s onward bought all the land on which they lived. None was conquered or occupied.
- [ ] When Israel declared its independence it was attacked by 5 Arab armies in a war of annihilation & they lost. The Green Line was an armistice line & never a final border.
@@zevnadel8516 since you are the smarty pants that think you are a law maker and expert, please note you omitted quite a few things in the whole bla bla...
1. The territories illegally occupied by Israel since 1967. This comprises of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip. Israel unilaterally annexed East Jerusalem in 1967. However East Jerusalem is still considered an occupied territory under international law. Further, despite Israel unilaterally withdrawing from the Gaza Strip in 2005, it still controls most of its borders, including its airspace and territorial waters
2. Article 49 of the Geneva Convention is very clear about flagrant violations of Israeli government
3. Moreover, Resolution 2334, adopted by the Security Council on 23 December 2016, stated that Israeli settlements constitute "a flagrant violation under international law"
4. United Nations resolution 37/43, dated 3 December 1982, “reaffirms the legitimacy of the struggle of peoples for independence, territorial integrity, national unity and liberation from colonial and foreign domination and foreign occupation by all available means, including armed struggle, so yes indeed Palestine has the right to defend themselves and their territory which is not occupied but "invaded"
5.NOPE, There is no right of self-defence for an occupying force.
6. the Fourth Geneva Convention as the applicable international legal instrument, and calls upon Israel to desist from transferring its own population into the territories or changing their demographic makeup
7.Israeli settlements as “the engine of the occupation”, and responsible for a wide range of human rights violations against the Palestinian people.
These include land confiscation, severe restrictions on freedom of movement, and racial and ethnic discrimination.
Most seriously, the purpose of settler implantation - rupturing the relationship between a native people and its territory - is the denial of the right to self-determination, which is at the very core of modern human rights law

Still waiting for Medhi to interview the Palestinian leaders to talk about violence from their side.
Wich violence are you talking about? You are in their territory, you stoled their land, you controll gaza, you demolished thousands of homes , the ethnic cleansing in 1948. Do you know these things or are you covering your eyes from the truth?
go watch the video of Israëlisch army beating innocent Palestinians during a funeral of a journalist killed by the brainless Israëlisch
No palestinian leader will ever come on western media dude.
Mehdi is a horrible interviewer: never lets others talk, speaks over his guests and verbally abuses them, doesn’t listen to them and twist their words.
He answered the question. 🤷♂️
Medhi likes to talk, but not listen.
Medhi likes to condemn, but not understand
Medhi likes to ask stupidly simplistic questions about complex issues
Oops I meant "Mehdi". My mistake. I have a cousin whose name is Medhi.
Israel is an Apartheid State.
Olmert was beating around the bush ……
Yes or no questions but he wanted to give a Zionist lecture that we heard over and over again .
Must say , that this Hungarian dude ( Israeli PM) managed to pull off his trick really well. He is a Semite now !!! 😂🤔🤔
You must have listened to a different interview. Poor old Olmert seemed to think he'd been asked to make a speech. Mehdi was just trying to get straight answers to the questions he asked within the time allowed. But of course there are some questions that no Israeli can answer honestly if they want to continue to live in Israel.
@@randyevermore9323
Yeah , you make a solid point come to think of it
Mehdi should have asked 2 questions and that’s that instead of trying to own the Ex pm !
His usual technique can’t be used all the time on everyone
The only solution is that the Israeli and the Palestinian people, who are destined to live on the same land forever, FINALLY learn to live together after more than 70 YEARS!
The interviewer is good at his job and asks the right questions but too often interrupts
That`s because he`s an arrogant bully
@@melanieshapiro2217 I disagree entirely
What a disrespectful interview. Mehdi was totally disrespectful and pompous in this interview. I would expect better from MSNBC!😠
We must’ve watched two different interviews.
I think Mehdi was absolutely respectful. Olmert was the name caller, accusing Mehdi of being hostile for simply asking a question. He dodged most of the questions. I think you need to watch this video one more time and observe how the guest was behaving.
Lisa, You are 100% correct. It was completely disrespectful.

Hasan still refers to Terrorist attacks when the Palestinian Resistance fights back. Please Mehdi, which targets are the OK for the Resistance to attack?
Mehdi is a bought man, he is not the old free man he was.
He is bought by the media and has sold his soul for a quarter.
Did he just say Isreal does not have nuclear
We in the West believe that this conflict has been eternal. If the Israelis went back to their 67 borders there would be peace. Unfortunately they want everything.
Medhi, if you would listen to his answer, you would find that he correctly stated that he wants a 2 state solution once the Palestinians recognize Israel’s right to exist. There is a reason for this. Until the Palestinians, and all Arab nations, recognize Israel, there will be endless war over this territory, and that no country will hand over their right to defend themselves. At the same time, he also said that he would prosecute police or military members for doing what that officer did to that woman. Having lived in Israel in the 1980’s, involved with the IDF, I can honestly say that Israel does prosecute its own, but in a very biased way. That happens in all societies in all conflicts. So the answer is a 2 state solution with both sides halting the endless violence, and recognizing each other’s nationhood. Period.
Palestine and 22 arab countries already wants to regonize israel some already did. What Palestine wants is whole west bank with east Jerusalem as their capital
@@A13b100 What Palestinians want, and what they’ll get, are two different things. That’s why it’s called negotiations. And 22 Arab countries saying something is meaningless until they enter into treaties. All of this needs to be negotiated and finalized.
@@rabukan5842 ok but why are you not accepting what Palestinians wants? Check also arabs peace plan
@@A13b100 neither Palestinians nor Israelis will get all they want. Again, that’s the reality of negotiations. You accept the final agreement and build from there. What the Palestinians will end up with will be better than what they have now as they will have autonomy in their own nation; the same goes for Israel, which will have security and hopefully peaceful neighbors they can do business with. Only then can the two nations fulfill their own destinies and build a better region without endless war and terrorism.
