  • In tennis having an effective "jab" is just as important as a knock-out punch. The pros use heavy spin, that penetrates the court to help maneuver their opponent and keep them off balance. In this video Nate teaches you how to improve your "jab" by developing a heavy topspin forehand!

    I just spotted you guys behind Andy Murray at the Citi Open. 😂
    I'm home injured, otherwise I would have been there myself. I'm only 45 mins away.
    Hope you guys have a good time!

    Great tips Nate. I hit inconsistently sometimes going for too much topspin and this is why…my arm breaks down so I lose the leg/body connection to generate power. Your tips will help with this. Thanks again! 👊🙂

    great timing on this video! as i work my way back into the game...i find myself mis-hitting quite a bit on my forehand (catching the bottom of the racquet on the upswing). i know my timing is still off which is part of it...but i believe my swing is too vertical. going to try to work on fixing my swing path to drive the ball a bit better.

    GREAT video. Nadal and Alcaraz hit ridiculously heavy forehands, but it looks like they are leaning backwards at contact. We're always taught to lean forward for power. Is it just an optical illusion when they're uncoiling their body?

    My top spin always come short and land inside the service line. I dont know if it good or bad. And I then change to hightop spin that always land on service line. Im still a beginner and excited to try your advice

    I want to give sa little advise the one you show is only flat topspin, the heavy topspin is your body will go up before contact and you will see when ball bounce on the on the opposite court ball will kick..

    • @Playyourcourt
      @Playyourcourt  Год назад +1

      Apprecitte the feedback but not sure the body lifting up is ideal on any shot. The racquet path on the forward swing will ultimately dictate the amount of spin on the shot whereas the body should remain stable throughout the coil and uncoil phase of the stroke.

    Heavy topspin and penetrating topspin the same? If not, what's the difference in the swing path of both?

      @@Playyourcourt From my interpretation, heavy topspin lands deep has high bounce whereas penetrating lands short but high bounce?

    Hi I have difficulty hitting the forehand. When hitting forehand, the ball has to come to me at a very specific contact point (at waist level or lower) and I have no problem with getting my swing right. The problem is if it's a high ball to my forehand. With my backhand, no difficulty if high or low..with forehand, even if I try to move back, I lose momentum and lose power when I try to get the ball at my contact point. It gets hard for me to hit whenever I get a forehand and I'm struggling with high ball

    Sounds good, but doesn't this cause inconsistency, because, the ball is moving and rising at different rates. The wrist part looks familiar though.

      Yes they are, they create the base for rotation of the body and the froce to push from the ground to drive more force through the shot…
