To play this: Standard tuning but the high E string is tuned down to D. Capo 2. Relative top the capo, intro is a B5 and F#m (just remove your index finger from B5), occasionally strumming the higher strings. The lead guitar melody is shifted down a string so not to use the high "E" string with the bass note 11th fret on D string. The "Take apart your head" part is G5. Chorus is same as intro. The "I'm on my own, I'll never say anything right" part is G5 and F#5 (slide the G5 shape down 1 fret).
@@jeremym4551 If you you have any bands that are actually covering songs who do that, please could you possibly for the love of all that is seen and unseen. maybe leave me a a comment on my very presently barren but soon to have a couple videos uploaded channel and then Maybe it would enlighten me and I could actually check out some new bands on one hand and also learn a couple covers quote sheet but mostly by ear but I know my basic I’m a piano player but I use stuff I did use I was on guitar pro guitar tabs where he paid for it for a while but it’s just like really I would not mind a little cheat sheet to figure it out so 😊 thank you in advance in case you actually oblige me 🎸🎶

loved this. it’s amazing to see that people still cover brand new’s old songs :’) this is a little bit annoying but can you tell me where did you get the chords? thank you already ^^
I'm not sure how this particular cover is transposed but without the capo the chords run through mainly E minor and D major with C thrown in during the end of the verses and bridge followed by B minor during the "I'm on my own" bits, most of what you hear in the song is E minor and D major, of course Jesse plays them as barre chords with a particularly unusual variation on the D and Bm chords but that's basically it. The lead over top is also based on variations of Em and D.
i have listenend to this more times than i expected i would've
thank you for sharing Alex. I love your feel on the guitar for this performance. really great stuff

Replying so I have this saved to come back to when I'm sober!
cant i just capo the strings below E and leave it there?
@@andreywittmannlopes5426 sure. If you’re able to have your capo skip the high E that would work. I can’t with my capo so I tune it down.
Man you killed this. Great job.
Could you please post the tabs that you're playing here? This is definitely one of the best Brand New covers I've seen, ever.
Idk why youtube cover artists NEVER post the tabs of the songs they cover.
