PATRIOTISM KILLED THE CAT
by RainbowGirls
As we all go marchin’ in
And we’re drownin’ in our sins
But the world keeps crashin’ in
While we’re all on trial
As we walk this hallow ground
And it makes a violent sound
But the world keeps spinnin’ ‘round
And we’re all gonna die
And I am here,
I might be sleepin’ on the floor
But I am standin’ in this desert out here
On my own
We’re just tryna pay our dues
And there’s fire on the news
And I’m holding on to you like a kid on his bike
In the route till he’ll get wet
I can’t light this cigarette
And I’ll try to not forget
That we’re all gonna change
And I am here
I might not return all your calls
‘Cause I am standin’ in this parking lot
And I’m yellin’ up to God
And it’s always 2 am
And they say it’s us or them
All good things will end
If we keep tryin’ to win
Wars that arrogance begun.
Fight by father, fight by son
There’s nothin' to be won
And they’re charged for blood and soil.
And I hear the wrecks drownin’ in my ears
Racked with pain and hate and fear
But it’s all in the name of love
Loved the guns and pressin’ one
Buildin’ walls and droppin’ bombs
We’re so proud of being in dump
Waivin' flags and draggin' asses
Approved.
Reminiscent of Rilo Kiley. Love it.
Feeling tipsy? A little from a lot goes a long way. We really appreciate any $$ you can send us

As we all go marchin in
And we're drowning in our sins
But the world keeps crashing in
Well we're all on trial
As we walk this hallowed ground
And he makes a violent sound
The world keeps spinning 'round
And we're all gonna die
And I'm here
I might be sleeping on the floor
But I'm standing in this desert
Out here on my own
We're just tryin to pay our dues
There's fire on the news
And I'm holding onto you
Like a kid on his bike
And the road to hell go wet
I can't light this cigarette
And I'll try to not forget
That we're all gonna change
And I'm here
I might not return all your calls
As I'm standing in this parking lot
And I'm yelling up to god
And it's always 2am
They say it's us or them
All good things will end
If we keep tryin to win
Always that arrogance (we got?)
Fought by father fought by son
There's nothing to be won
In the charge for blood and soil
And I hear
The rats drowning in my ears
Racked with pain and hate and fear
But it's all in the name of love
Love of guns and pressing '1'
Building walls and dropping bombs
We're so proud of being dumb
Waving flags and draggin ass
And I'm here
I might be sleeping on the floor
But I'm standing in this desert
Out here on my own
And I'm here
I might not return all your calls
Cuz I'm standing in this parking lot
And I'm yelling up to god
I LOVE YOU

the left wing and the right wing belong to the same bird. rise above
What is it about a cat
This is a bit disorienting. They look like they're playing southpaw.
lovely tune girls except the world aint spinning, the earth is fixed and firm and flat! just as God describes it in His Word!
Flat? Oh dear, you poor chap.
@Terry Quesenberry nope but if you want to believe otherwise....
At first I Iiked these girls til I listened to their politicized bs in tbeir lyrics. They're going to lose a lot of fans! Leave politics out of music, it has no place in song!
That is the most ridiculous statement ever stated on the internet.
What an odd thing to say, I don''t think you've actually listened to their music. They don't monologue or preach, they rework covers to create beautiful harmonies, write songs that are fun and almost always are smiling. As far as political theme goes I don't get that but if they did I could still like their music even if I didn't agree. That's why I thought we were proud to be Americans because, we can disagree on politics but come together to have dinner, enjoy arts, play music and dance. Without the willingness to except differences or in this case even except the Idea of speaking your mind though music like so many have done and continue to do you are bound to be stuck in a loop cavity damned to never see anything new, how sad.. Moreover, it has been though the stage, radio , movies and concerts that political ideas have been exchanged, debated and sometimes agreed upon.
