If you answer those questions correctly does not mean you can handle the hands on and solving real technical problem on what you will working on it. The interview is set to give the interviewer how you love and know your major. IF you failed, it does not mean you are not an engineer, just tell the interviewer that you can prove it on real technical problem by hands on and math solving. Don't lose hope my engineer friend! peace

Nice!!! Great video, been waiting for your release of this one, as you mentioned it weeks ago. There is a ton of great advice here guys! And wow thank you so much for linking my channel in the description man, appreciate that soooo much :) !!!
Had a couple interviews with component makers like Texas Instruments (I'm also an EE major). They actually get impatient when you think out loud and don't just spit out the answer. It feels more like a hazing session than an interview to see if someone will be a good investment as an employee. I'm kind of losing hope in the job search.
@@hanibaydoun9423 I got a job with a small product safety certification company, and I love it. No high pressure to squeeze out project finishes, good pay, good benefits. Hardly any extra work beyond the normal 9-5 grind.
In some mechanical interviews they tell you to take about a device and I identify the sensors and why they are included on this device. This was at iRobot. Haven't heard back yet.
good sir I am a second year student of aeronautical engineering and i likes your videos so much every one.....I saw and i got that....very nice.....for future path as was i the pre mature journey to post mature....this helps
That honestly sounds pretty accurate to me. I got 3 interviews off probably 75-100 job applications. So nothing that insane. Look for opportunities at your school or career fairs and all that stuff.
MajorPrep thank you, that makes me feel a lot less hopeless. It has only been a month or so of looking, but I was definitely getting discouraged. I also have decided to go to graduate school in 2018 to get my masters in Control Systems. I can’t go to job fairs at the university I graduated from because that was in NY and I have moved to AZ. I may move to CA depending on if I cannot find a job here.
Yeah just keep trying man, I know that rejection or simply NEVER hearing back doesn't feel good, but you're not alone. Hopefully after the master's things change as well but it takes time.
Hey Jason, I know how you feel. I applied to 60+ jobs in 2011 and still only got interviews at places where I knew people. 80% of jobs are no even publicised online, so you have to be an incredible candidate to just come in off the street. I highly encourage you to network more, as it's all about who you know. There's a wholllleeee list of things you can do to boost that :) How's everything going right now? Cheers!
Jake Voorhees Thanks for the encouragement, if you can, check my comment on MajorPrep’s “Dream Employers for Engineering Students”. I am employed now, but I gave a little background!
You are amazing bro, Im a colombian looking for a chance on a double degree program at sfu and I fell your videos have given me a lot of directions towards the situation in America. Now, if the opportunity comes, I will be prepared on what to expect.
I am currently about to start my second year of college and I have yet to pick a major. I know I want to do something in the physical sciences but I am not sure what. I have been finding your videos very helpful. thank you
On that "Salary Negotiations" part, why do some people (especially managers, CEOs, etc) put down "$1" as their salary expectation, even though they know they are most likely getting far more than that in terms of total compensation? Examples include: Mark Zuckerberg, Arnold Schwarzenegger, John F. Kennedy, Elon Musk, and more.
I’ve been a pipefitter for almost 18 years and I’ve always been interested in becoming an engineer! I got an interview for Siemens Energy for an early entry engineer position! I don’t know what to expect and I hope my mechanical background helps me in this interview.
I really wanna know what happens with this one. I don't have any experience managing projects of any sort and I am about to start final year of my degree. Job interviews are not too far away.
If you haven't ever managed people on projects it's okay. So if they ask you about a time when you managed people you can say something like "I haven't formally been in charge of managing a team, but I have been assigned a specific task on a large project where I was expected to....." and you can talk about how you had to kind of manage your own task on the project so that everything fit together in the end. Even if it's not engineering related, I'm sure there is something you can come up with.
What do you recommend doing if you accept two job offers? I got one offer early on in a location I am not crazy about, and accepted because I was initially interested. Then a company in my city of choice offered me a job and I accepted that immediately.
Another reason I accepted the second one, the first offer I received requires security clearance, and a long road to employment. I was worried that I would not make it through and did not want to decline the other offer only to find out I didn't make the security clearance.

Step by step solutions to problems. Newton raphson is a numerical algorithm, what he means is that they'll present you with a problem and you'll have to write an algorithm to solve it. What are you studying?
No you can’t be anywhere, on earth you could only be at the North Pole, it would have to be a much smaller sphere for it to have the infinite solutions
If your summer job has nothing to do with engineering you could still include it and maybe talk about managerial experience or something. But no they won't look over it too much unless it relates to the company you're applying for.
So I was thinking that you would make a circle with a circumference of one mile with the South Pole at the center, then you start anywhere that’s 1 mile above that.
65K!!! damn engineers in the west are damn rich, and they deserve it, imagine here if you have 20K you are lucky and some stupid engineers boast about it.

How are you doing? And do you have free time or do you have to be doing a lot of research all the time?
How was it first interview I am in my last year of electronic engineering technology

On the surface of the earth where I stood.
