I haven't heard any other extreme bands doing his style of pitched screaming, and not to mention his massive range and infinite lung capacity. The songs "Manufactured extinct", "your disposal", "pacific grim" are must listens
So glad you're listening to a band like Cattle Decap now. I think a few years ago you might not have been able to appreciate the training/practice and hard work that goes into being able to make this kind of music. I'm personally not the biggest Cattle fan (no reason, just never got into their stuff) but I appreciate how much respect they get in the wider Metal community. I love Cattle and had a chance to see them live back in 2015. So happy you are working with Travis. My favorite thing about the band (other than just how awesome the melody singing is) is that you can understand like 75% of what he's saying even without the lyric sheet. This is exciting!
Awesome I've been waiting for Cattle Decap since I started following this channel, I love the way he does his style of 'clean' vocals it's so unique and unmistakably Travis.
For me, I'd always heard of Cattle Decap, but they didn't stand out to me... UNTIL I heard Travis doing the melodic screams. Then, he became my favourite vocalist, because it's so unique. I've heard melodic lows from Gojira's vocalist and pitched screams, but these melodic highs Travis is doing are insane!
I absolutely LOVE that you're covering Travis's work. He's incredibly talented and was the one who coined this style of singing that you hear so much now in newer mental bands like Lorna Shore and alike
Cattle Decap is one of my all-time faces, I am SO stoked to see you analyse more of their music His vocals changed my music taste direction hugely when I first discovered them, and changed in the best way
What I like about Travis is that he's one of the few harsh vocalists I've heard that conveys emotion so deeply, the shift from brutal in the verses and the melodic harsh vocals in the chorus is incredible.
Heeeeeeell yeeeeeeaaah!!! Finally a CD video. Travis is defo one the best. And this new album is even more awesome. Great song choice... as my friend and i have talked about often, Will must be inspired by Travis (meant in a very positive way). Great vid as always!!! :D
Endarkenment or Obscene As Cancer (both of which have references to great literature too) would be my choices. I really hope Anaal Nathrakh keep going and do another album. I was gutted when they announced they were finishing up - the fact they are still doing stuff is great, but will they make anything new? 🤞
Cattle decapitation has become one of my all time favorites. From the lyrics, the vocals, instrument playing, they are the whole package. I wasnt expecting to see this on your channel! Awesome stuff!
I've been watching for a hot minute. I've known will for a long time from afar, but Travis is my boy. Last time I saw him was right before the world shut down. Love him and Dave. Those dudes are so cool!!!
So excited. I started listening to this band a couple years ago. I think Travis’s melodic singing is just amazing. He touches my soul with that voice. I honestly love that so much, I am not sure I would have fallen for this band without it.
At about 18 minute mark you were wondering how the implementation of more melodic parts affected Cattle Decap's popularity and at least for me it's the big part of why I became a big fan of them. If their music was just like the first couple of minutes of this song I wouldn't like them all that much. They would be just another death core/whatever band out there. But the melodic parts are so masterfully done and bring a wonderful and beautiful contrast to the brutality that it's so magical. In this song especially. The melody, lyrics and Ryan's delivery of the chorus works so well with the melodic guitars behind him. Such a good song.
Cattle Decapitation!! I remember the first time I ever heard this band. The song playing was Bring Back The Plague from their album Death Atlas. I was vibing with how chaotic it was and then the 'sing scream' vocals started with the line "Every body a host, every body infected" and when that section of the song ended I had to go back and relisten to it. It completely blew me away, I'd never heard something like that be done before in metal and I've been hooked ever since. I had the pleasure of meeting Travis and the rest of the band last year when they did their Australian tour, I met them in Adelaide and got some pics with Travis. He's a genuinely nice guy, and funny as! So glad to see Cattle getting even more recognition, they truly are something else. Thank you for this video, brought me to tears ha!
I have been a fan of them since the very beginning and Travis Ryan is simply the best Death vocalist in all areas... When he started to do his brand of singing I always thought it sounded like a Transformer singing lol very robotic... Then years later he is personally asked by The Transformer corporation to do voice over for the new line of toys they put out and Travis does the voice of Unicron and others and its awesome!!

I love Cattle and had a chance to see them live back in 2015. So happy you are working with Travis. My favorite thing about the band (other than just how awesome the melody singing is) is that you can understand like 75% of what he's saying even without the lyric sheet. This is exciting!
I found Cattle Decap last january and I have been completely obsessed with them ever since. Their sound is so unique, especially the vocals!
7:49 😂😂😂 awwwww you love it! Let’s goooo!! 🤘🤘🫶🫶🫶🫶
Cattle Decap is one of my all-time faces, I am SO stoked to see you analyse more of their music
His vocals changed my music taste direction hugely when I first discovered them, and changed in the best way
What I like about Travis is that he's one of the few harsh vocalists I've heard that conveys emotion so deeply, the shift from brutal in the verses and the melodic harsh vocals in the chorus is incredible.
I agree Travis is incredible and unmistakable. And I love your passion for this cause!
omg your enthusiasm is contagious! I love your passion for extended vocal techniques and love of cattle decap
Even his basic mid range gutteral voice sounds unique as can be. Normally nobody even tries to be unique in that range. Amazing!
I've been watching you for a long time and watching such an accomplished singer like you enjoy raw and unapologetic metal is amazing.
Travis Ryan is the f***ing GOAT
The day I've been waiting for! Thank you for this! Love your content
GOTTA DO ANAAL NATHRAKH. The sheer VARIETY on something like Endarkenment is just chefs kiss
Honestly I'd love if she did Shatter The Empyrean, that song has such a range to it.
Definitely! Dave Hunt is a Monster!
Endarkenment or Obscene As Cancer (both of which have references to great literature too) would be my choices. I really hope Anaal Nathrakh keep going and do another album. I was gutted when they announced they were finishing up - the fact they are still doing stuff is great, but will they make anything new? 🤞
Tod hütet übel though
Just went to check out the video-I love discovering bands from the comments section…incredible sound and vocals!
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO LONGGGGGGGGGGGGG YESSSSSSS
FINALLY YOU DID IT! 🤘🏻🔥
Cattle decapitation has become one of my all time favorites. From the lyrics, the vocals, instrument playing, they are the whole package. I wasnt expecting to see this on your channel! Awesome stuff!
One of my all-time favorite bands. Dripping with talent.
I've been watching for a hot minute. I've known will for a long time from afar, but Travis is my boy. Last time I saw him was right before the world shut down. Love him and Dave. Those dudes are so cool!!!
The sound and reaction at 7:40 is so incongruent with the content of the video and so damn adorable.. Please never change, Elizabeth.
The visuals of cities collapsed is eerily familiar to a dream I had years ago. Awesome song and analysis! Thank you.
The Meshuggah video, I Am The Thirst is my eerily familiar dream! Cosmic demon from beyond Pluto 😰😬
This is absolutely my favorite channel. No contest.
Does not surprise me that Travis is excited about this. He's a great dude.
Wow now you’re doing extreme metal! This is a truly awesome channel!
Never even heard of this band before today haha but WOW - incredible vocals, and that chorus is sooooooo damn good
Yes! Ive been waiting for this day! Travis has nasty technique and mouth/tounge movements i always thought was interesting. Id like to see "a photic doom" done next if you do more. Also excited for the vocal research. Totally backed that project immediately.
It's amazing to see how much Cattle Decapitation has matured. When I saw them back in 2009 we were all younger and crazier then. Thanks for your excitement and your research
Yeah doxing a teenager for leaking your album is hella mature.
Yeah Travis is an OG for a lot of harsh vocal stylings, will Ramos for example
I love how I'm your journey this started off so innocent and metal was the furthest thing from your mind. now it seems your a rather large metalhead and I'm here for it all the way!
I've been to their concert, they are even better live! And love their message 🌍🐣💚🐷🌱🐮
I’m unfamiliar, what is their message? I only know them for their music
@@jeltehoekstra2952 They criticize the meat industry as well as animal abuse among other things
Edit: reading the lyrical themes section of their wikipedia will probably be more insightful than my comment
I saw them with Author & Punisher in 2019.🤯🤯
Been waiting for this for awhile! Best reaction yet. Can't wait for you to listen to more! 🤘
to all that say anyone can do this, its just screaming thank you, elizabeth
I finally got to see them live in Vegas this summer. The entire band, especially Travis, sounded so spot on. Blew my damn mind. Can't wait to see you dive deeper into them! They're a special band🤘🔥
When Cattle Decapitation brought in using more melodic elements it catapulted their music. Their last 4 albums were my favorite albums released those years.
I've seen a few of your reactions and was impressed . You keep doing this bloody brilliant .
Imminence - "Continuum" (Eddie Berg One Take) or "The Black" (Ystads Teater) please
Since i discovered Cattle Decap, a year or so ago, they've grown quickly to one of my favorite bands. I highly recommend their last two albums (Terrasite and Death Atlas) to listen too in your off time. Absolute masterpieces. Great vid as always!
You are the only person whose pauses not only does it not bother me, I also enjoy watching and listening to you very much. Good work and thank you.
I love that you are digging deeper into harsh vocal metal again. Yeah, I don't want to be THAT guy, but ... I am sure, Meshuggah would be a band that would perfectly fit your journey and reveal a new treasure. Especially "Dancers To A Discordant System" where there is a variety of vocals.
Travis Ryan is such an amazing hugger! Saw them in 04 in Seattle, My first ever show he was sick. Still came out there and met us all. An amazing guy that loves his fans
Beginning of the channel: Butt rock artists and legitimate singers
Today: Fucking Cattle Decap
Can't wait for the Gutalax reaction vid!
Gutalax is such a fun fucking band.
Haha
FINALLY! I've been waiting SO LONG for this! Travis was one of the OGs in harsh vocals and he is and always will be an ABSOLUTE LEGEND!
