The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows, the new studio album - released by new label home Transgressive Records.
Originally intended as an orchestral piece inspired by the landscapes of Iceland, this last year has seen a return to the music in lockdown and develop the work to 11 tracks. Further exploring themes of fragility, loss, emergence and rebirth.

I think he's definitely one of the greatest songwriters and musicians of our times, probably the best one
I wholeheartedly believe he is one of the most talented individuals in the music industry ever. I'm not saying that as a fan. Just simply look at the albums and music he's helped create, something even other crazy talented individuals haven't done.
He's been the lead in 3 bands (blur, gorillaz, good/bad queen) , created a musical, africa express giving attention to niche artists, solo work. Yes he hasn't output much compared to other artists, like buckethead has output hundreds. But it's his versatility and ability to make quality productions of entertainment and sound anywhere where he applies himself to.
Regardless of who you are, you can find some song he's had a hand in making and like. Whether it's britpop, alt rock, borderline prog/experi rock, hip hop, pop, synth, dance pop, sombre electronic, acoustic, whatever you'd call good, bad and the queen.
It honestly makes me a bit gutted hearing someone not know his work. Yeah there's TONS of music out there, but I've met people who don't know Song 2 or Feel Good Inc, or not know Blur for example. They miss out on very good music, while usually listening to rap/pop drivel. There is good rap/pop, but not the real mainstream stuff mostly.

I don't think is a coincidence this album releases in my 21th birthday, 12 of november. I have listen to the voice of this man since I was a little child, my mom always played gorrilaz and blur. The themes of the album seem very related of what I'm going thru: its gonna be my 9th anniversary with mental illness. But I do not belive in coincidence, I belive in destiny.

When the song started I paint a tear on my face, it is the most beautiful thing I have heard in my life.
I couldn't be more grateful for this album to grace us when it's most needed. For me, it came right when my step dad was diagnosed with a fatal disease, this song has helped me mourn and grieve a loss of a beautiful and kind soul. He always wanted to go to Iceland.
To all of this struggling with loss, thank goodness for the beauty of music and it's healing gifts.

I’m so used to this song being unfinished when Damon performed it for Boiler Room. Wish he kept in the lines “why are dreams so often taken from us before we get a chance to understand.” And the guitars remind me of Sister Rust, the song Damon did for the film Lucy
