Yeah, trains no longer use that stretch of track. Thats why we were going so slow because there was so much debri on the tracks that had to be cleared first before it was safe to drive the car on.
some cars are 4 feet 8.5 inches wide The Delorean is! but I'd do this to a junker, insulate the wheels so the signals don't go off & put on a turntable jack to lift & turn the car around to go in the other direction
That is amazing! I am sure the one in the movie was only a non working prop! Now you can say you have a real working on rails BTTF 3 Delorean! 1 of a kind in the world!
hey, why don't you people take the car to jamestown ca to the railroad yard and have it pushed by old sierra nevada no. 3? she's fully restored and up and running again :D
They are off a small train car. Then they are drilled out to fit the hole pattern of the delorean wheels. No the steering must be free to turn with the curve of the tracks. You just sat back and the car steered itsself.
See that brown and Tan (and other colors) apartment block when they 1st set out? I lived in on that faced the street near the rail crossing during filming. It was a pain in the ass at the time, as I had to walk blocks out of my way coming home from school. But it was fun to peek over that wall and watch filming. Oh and only 1 side of the train was built. Inside was a normal diesel electric train with half a shell build over it.
Great stunt! its cool the way the Deloreon came full circle in the series of movies reaching a high tech zenif in the second film and back to the old white wall tires and the massive microchip substitute on the bonnet in the third!
@AlexRedShock The We're Going Back celebration was a fundraiser put on by a group of fans last year in order to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Back to the Future and to help raise money for the MJ Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research.
That was 1955-Doc's replacement for the blown time circuit controller, as seen in Part III. But I hadn't noticed that in was housed in am old PepsiCola case in the film!
Now you know you guys need to get the off road whire wall tyres and red wheels and take the car to monument valley to recreate the indian scene from bttf3 !!..that would be good to see..
It looks like a new one I have spent some time going fanboy over dmc the 80's cars didn't have the dark grey plastic around the rear tail lights. I assume when the company was resurrected in 95 the tins used to make those pieces where lost what they most likely did was make molds of an existing one and now they are plastic.
@AutoPilotDeLorean The newest Sony Vegas has an internal deshaker... or you could use Virtual Dub, which is better at some things than Vegas, but takes more steps. I have used VirtualDub deshaker more than Vegas, but lately i'm liking the convenience of Sony Vegas!!
this was a really good tribute to the third movie and as well as a good point for parkinson's research. I wish a DeLorean appeared out of nowhere on my town's train tracks.....
@BFKAnthony817 No, the car and the train both worked. Now I know the train was a mockup (see my post below), but there was a real and stunt Delorean. The "real" one was self powered, but I do not know if was a real Delorean. The stunt one was made to be run over by the train so I am sure it was not a Delorean. Fun fact though....we were finding bits of Delorean for weeks after the crash!
This is one of the acutual screen used Deloreans for the third film. I think it may work its way to the Peterson Auto Museum. How do I know this??? I was there to see this thing roll back and forth AND they let me sit in the thing!!!!! How cool is that!
i was a docent at railtown state park and got to sit in that one time . i have a photograph of a friend of mine and myself in the car. we didnt touch the "time controls"
I surf at the beach 1 block from those tracks. It was fitting for choosing my go to surfing spot because I love surfing and I love Back to the Future. It was destiny to end up there I guess.
@ShaurntheSheep Maybe we'll see the DeLorean and the Train on the tracks at the same time. The DeLorean could go first and then the train could stop behind it.
There is an old delorean here a town over from where I live. The guy has it covered in an old service station. I broke in one night. The car is a mess!
When I saw the movie Back to the future it is sticked in my brain. If I might make my own de lorean real time machine. But no way. Time travel is not possible and never possible at all. Nice video.
@MrCrazypython Ah, i see... Well if it makes you feel better there was no damage done to the car. This recreation was just to raise money for parkinsons research.
@yootoobnoob1 Agreed... You should have seen the video before i ran it through a deshake filter. This was the best i could salvage from the footage... If you know a better program for deshaking video, LMK... Thanks for the comment.
Yeah, trains no longer use that stretch of track. Thats why we were going so slow because there was so much debri on the tracks that had to be cleared first before it was safe to drive the car on.
I've always loved Deloreans, they're so beautiful. I wouldn't mind getting behind the wheel of one!
Imagine sitting in your car at the boom gate, and the DeLorean goes past, on the track!! What a spinout!! 😀😀
Marty, you're not thinking fourth dimensionally!
I see you must be a big Back to The Future fan and you read the description thoroughly before commenting...Thank you for the very educated comment.
THIS IS SO COOL! I noticed the hoverboard on the passenger side too!. Nice touch and great video!
We did several times later in the day. But didnt catch that on this video. There are other videos that show that part.
How did you get it to match the track guage?
That would be a mad way to explore abandoned rail tracks!!
some cars are 4 feet 8.5 inches wide
The Delorean is!
but I'd do this to a junker, insulate the wheels so the signals don't go off & put on a turntable jack to lift & turn the car around to go in the other direction

You guys are serious fans. Great job! Long live the Stainless Wonder!
@corvetteguy1980
They are actually train car wheels that were drilled out for the correct delorean hole pattern.
thanks for the reply, amazed how simply it fits the track!
csm101000 it doesn't they had to build Special Wheels.
Great! I wish, I can build my own Time machine by a DeLorean. BTTF is the best movie ever!
The best thing I've seen all day
hey, why don't you people take the car to jamestown ca to the railroad yard and have it pushed by old sierra nevada no. 3? she's fully restored and up and running again :D
Absolutely awesome. I can't believe it worked so well!
Just force of habbit. Its a strange feeling to be in a car going forward and not holding onto the steering wheel.
They are off a small train car. Then they are drilled out to fit the hole pattern of the delorean wheels. No the steering must be free to turn with the curve of the tracks. You just sat back and the car steered itsself.

2:07 Nice car!))) Thanks guys)))
All fun and games till a train comes ._.
Brett Metts "Well doc. It's destroyed. Just like you wanted..."
well read the description
Great stunt! its cool the way the Deloreon came full circle in the series of movies reaching a high tech zenif in the second film and back to the old white wall tires and the massive microchip substitute on the bonnet in the third!
@skrapmetal They are actual Rail car wheels that my friend Charles Kline had modified by a machinist to fit the delorean.
@AlexRedShock The We're Going Back celebration was a fundraiser put on by a group of fans last year in order to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Back to the Future and to help raise money for the MJ Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research.

i love how they used the power supply from a computer for the front thing
Same wheel base as a train.
Now that was class.
YOU ARE SO AMAZING FOR DOING THIS!
@AidanMaurer911 they actually are still producing DeLoreans (albeit in limited quantities).
@vfIskullangel
That portion of the tracks is not used anymore...
@GamePlayer0105 We had permission from the city of oxnard as well as police supervision while this even occurred.
Now you know you guys need to get the off road whire wall tyres and red wheels and take the car to monument valley to recreate the indian scene from bttf3 !!..that would be good to see..
A flux capacitor.... sheeesh!!!
@AutoPilotDeLorean Thanks for that bit of insight. Awesome video!
I live in Oxnard, so that's just a beautiful thing to see.
Scrub Lord same! :)
@AutoPilotDeLorean now did the city or railroad company have to close down the tracks for a whole day or they didn't have to
Great Job. Felt so good watching this. Epic!
I have been around that area, not to the tracks, I wanna go next time
Damn that thing handles like it's on rails. Oh wait...
this was a really good tribute to the third movie and as well as a good point for parkinson's research. I wish a DeLorean appeared out of nowhere on my town's train tracks.....
This is just awesome. Great work guys, appreciate it!!
@Matt3985 We drove it down the tracks under its own power...
@koroshbaradaran Yeah, This is in Oxnard CA, where the movie was filmed. Yes its a running car.
i never thought id see this...
Ventura County Railway Hueneme branch.
@delorean61 They were off a train car and modified to fit the cars lug pattern.
Verry cool guys im sure Doc Brown wil respect this...
@BFKAnthony817

1.21 gigawatts!!! Where are we going to get that kind of power??
I wanna know where he got them railroad wheels!
I wants a set!!
but I do wanna do this to a junker Delorean to make a Railorean hehe
This is one of the acutual screen used Deloreans for the third film. I think it may work its way to the Peterson Auto Museum. How do I know this??? I was there to see this thing roll back and forth AND they let me sit in the thing!!!!! How cool is that!

OMG THE DELOREAN!! EPIC!!!
thats awesome, should have made like prank videoes of setting off the track lights and going across
Nice! I hope you enjoyed it.
@AutoPilotDeLorean
wonder what your gonna do on the 30th.
I have a DeLorean Time Machine to. mines powered by a 396 Chevy. The original V6 died and i did a swap with it.
@ShaurntheSheep Maybe we'll see the DeLorean and the Train on the tracks at the same time. The DeLorean could go first and then the train could stop behind it.
@tigerboy1227
It did set of the lights and the crossing rails ended up coming down later...
THEME IS FROM THE BACK TO THE FUTURE III
BETTER HOPE THAT TRACK IS CLEAR CUZ U GUY'S WILL GET CRUSHED
@InquietantLeMonde Yep, the same location as the film.
There is an old delorean here a town over from where I live. The guy has it covered in an old service station. I broke in one night. The car is a mess!
This put a smile on my face :)
Now you just missing the old steamer to give you that extra push... NICE vid tho, I want one.
I was moved to tears 😭
BTTF has my important memories
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! Love it A++++
a real blast from the past or to the future
@mrcrazypython They were putting their delorean where a replica of the 3rd one belongs.
I believe they are off a train car. Then drilled out for the hole pattern on the car.
2:07 nice car.-thanks guy :)
Freakin' SWEEEEEEEEEETT!!!!! I really wish I could've went to that 25th anniversary event!
When I saw the movie Back to the future it is sticked in my brain. If I might make my own de lorean real time machine. But no way. Time travel is not possible and never possible at all. Nice video.
You should have been dressed as a cowboy and actually went through the train crossing while people and were stopped
@MrCrazypython Ah, i see... Well if it makes you feel better there was no damage done to the car. This recreation was just to raise money for parkinsons research.
@tigerboy1227
Yeah, There is alot more footage... Im sure it will be posted once the event is over.
Sometimes I think part 3 had the best music, this song in some ways was just so amazing...
Ya had to be there, these guys get it done
0:29 That headlights is when Delorean makes it look sad
This is amazing... well done... BTTF - my favorite film... thanks you so much... Pozdrowienia z Polski...

Totally awesome!!!

Where did you guys source the wheels? LOVE IT!
I hope one day to not have anything better to do.
This just makes me feel really happy! 😀
@yootoobnoob1
Agreed... You should have seen the video before i ran it through a deshake filter. This was the best i could salvage from the footage... If you know a better program for deshaking video, LMK... Thanks for the comment.
I can't believe I missed this :(
To think where the delorean would be now if they were still producing...
I would say raising money for charity is time well spent.
its the time circuits from part 3 that doc made in the past because the future ones where fried from lightning in part 2
wtf man ... it needs 88 mph !!! don t go so slow
this video makes me happy
.... sorry, passed out from awesomeness
hi my nmaes damien auksorius ,i love this train track scene its so cool
Huh. I had no idea Port Hueneme was the filming location. I'm from Santa Maria up north, so I should know this.
