    As a casual dooter I always looped overhead smash -> kick -> double swing to get magnificent trio and maybe perform if I got a opening and I was dubious about my playstyle. Great to find out I was doing sub optimal double swings the whole while and not doing enough performances for sharpness. Amazing video that clears up a lot.

    I didn't knew that double swing has a clockwise and an anti-clockwise animation. I avoided this move at all cost cuz how slow it was but if all i need to do to get the better double swing is putting my left stick to neutral position then i'll reconsider using it again.
    Great work guys, keep thoses informative videos comming.

      If you go back to the combo flowchart, the colors indicate the notes which = the buttons pressed. On a switch controller;

      🔴 = A
      🟢 = X+A

    This is epic Zook. Amazing work by HH community. Thanks for the effort and time to make this! :) writing scrips and presenting things is its own challenge. Excited to see what comes next!
    Also so glad Protective Polish is a thing. I love the Kick into Multicrush when a monster is downed. Feels very lethargic seeing all those shockwaves pop off in succession. I don't wanna give it up.
    Also I didn't know about the anti-clockwise double swing thats an interesting note, will try to incorporate it and see how it goes!

    More slight corrections:
    For the Raw HH input values, I listed CE5 as 0.15 when it should be 0.25. sorry for the typo.
    For the elemental HH section, I accidentally used a crit rate of 0.25 instead of 1.25. With the correct values, Kick > Multicrush would not be as strong as it appears in the video. Again these are all theoretical matchups, try out the spreadsheet to see where your best combos are!

    Really loved the video! I love learning the info, but of course will play and adapt to situations. Though maybe I'll do a better combo for a downed monster. I had actually forgotten what each attack looked like so I had to go back in the video to refresh my memory.

    So I have over 900h in this game now, have been playing HH from the beginning and I feel like I'm still not that good. I don't have to be a speedrunner, but I'd like to get more efficient in fights. I've watched all the recommended videos and know in theory what to do but somehow I just don't know how to translate this into the actual game. I try to read monster movements but still get smacked into the face way too much!
    So I used to use performance mode but I'd like to learn how to play with echo because of the faster perform and because I like the way it plays songs better, but I've noticed you need to stand a little closer to still hit the monster and I somehow can't manage that without continuously getting hit.
    I thought maybe it was the evade extender lv2 (which I originally added for better mobility) that made it hard to position right, but I've seen plenty of people use it without issue?
    My times often range between 20 and 25min (though sometimes even up to 30min) solo (or with npcs) I don't know what I can really do to start getting better other than to "keep practising" which I have already been trying for several hundreds of hours.
    Am I just that bad or am I missing something? How come people know how to dodge and still stay in range for opportunity attacks and the only way I know how to be safe is to do 3 rolls backwards lol (maybe I'm exaggerating but you get the point)
    I've been thinking of trying multiplayer but tbh I always think I'm not good enough for that. Especially when people see my rank they probably expect better.
    Has anyone had the same experience? So many people in forums etc seem to know exactly what they're talking about unless they're complete newbies.

      Been playing for over a Hundred hours of hh. But I've basically also been playing multi-player for most of that. I think multi-player is a lot more forgiving as a hh player. As long as you don't die, apply buffs and exhaust / knock down the monster.. You won't be hearing any complaints about your damage efficiency from team mates.

  • @AlanxMatt93

    This was really interesting as someone who picked up the weapon somewhat recently. Was surprised to see Magnificent Trio is seemingly never the best dps option. Is there any situation where we want to be using it? Even for popping Infernal we can use Slidebeat or Silkbind Shockwave switch skills to set it up, one of which is better dps and the other helps upkeep our buff. Thanks for putting together such an informative video and thanks again in advance if you see this and answer my question!

    • @Zook0001
      @Zook0001  2 года назад +3

      Absolutely! I read all comments:) MagTrio is still really good but only when we can combo into infernal and preferably when we have shockwaves active. Outside of that, it just burn too much sharpness and has no follow up so we don't want to spam it on its own.

    • @AlanxMatt93
      @AlanxMatt93 2 года назад

      @@Zook0001 That makes a lot of sense, thanks for the reply. Is it still generally better to activate Infernal via Slidebeat or Silkind Shockwave when we can? Or is MagTrio the best way to do that even if those are available?

    • @Zook0001
      @Zook0001  2 года назад +1

      I think all 3 are good options. If you have SS active, you will want either magtrio or slide beat to activate, and then it's all down to situation and matchup. Some monsters, you can't hit a good hzv with every attack of magtrio so you might want slide beat. Or if you are low on sharpness, use slide beat instead of magtrio. Etc

    Excellent work! I'm looking at the raw HH input values affinity and I'm summing to 0.85 affinity, did I miss another 10% somewhere? Maybe CE5 is a typo and should be 0.25?

    Great video. I'll have to keep trying HH. For whatever reason I'm terrible with it... I don't think it's a matter of the weapon speed...I just don't understand the positioning. I'm decent with Lance and Gunlance and Insect glaive...but especially with speedy monsters I have issues with HH.

    So without oversimplifying the video, for those of us just starting out and in Performance Mode, I'm getting the Overhead Smash into Neutral double swing is one of the more spam-friendly combos if you're trying to just support your team. Pair that with the Kamura horn which has health recovery (s) on green and you have a decent raw set without being a detriment to your damage or team if you're just learning how to use it more efficently.
    Is that a fair assessment?

    • @Zook0001
      @Zook0001  2 года назад

      I wouldnt say "spam heavy" but if the monster is staggered or Ko'ed then it is one of the better combos you have available in performance mode. When the monster is still moving around and attacking, then you will be more reaction based, using your performance to i-frame attacks (when you can) and using good positioning with pokes like backslam or crush>backslam where applicable.

      Hello! The main combos talked about can be seen throughout the video albeit only shortly. This is not intended to be a guide video or 'intro to HH' to show how the moves work. More so a detailed breakdown of why certain combos are better than others. If you would like to see visual representations of the moves, I would recommend checking out Amadeus225's intro series or some HH speedruns to see how the combos are used and in what scenarios they can be used in. For sure tho, I will try to be less spreadsheet heavy in any upcoming videos.
