Nacido en un ambiente pobre, Enrico Caruso recibió su primera educación musical como niño de coro. A la muerte de su madre, Caruso sigue los deseos de la difunta y desarrolla sus condiciones para el canto. Pero los años pasan y Caruso no es más que un cantante que alegra las concurrencias de los cafés. En este medio, se enamora de una amiga de la infancia, Musetta y, por ella, trabaja una temporada en el molino de su padre, Egisto Barretto. Pero una disputa con éste le obliga a romper sus relaciones e inicia su carrera operística. De regreso a Nápoles, Caruso se dispone a ganar fama y dinero, cantando en diversas capitales europeas.

Mario Lanza es el tenor que me enamoro de la música lírica y el Bel Canto allá a mediados de los años 50, aún era un niño pero la conexión fue instantánea. Para mí gusto, el mejor después del fenómeno Pavarotti. Inolvidables..!!

thanks philip, for that wonderful comment about mario. i have been a member of the mario lanza institute & the new york society of mario lanza for more than 30 years. i was very good friends with marios son damon, who sadly passed away some years ago, also my best friend was terry robinson, marios health trainer,and marios best friend. when mario sang, he sang with so much feeling, and emotion, he actually could make you feel the song he was singing. now thats the mark of a true tenor, and mario was that man! a voice like no other!! the three tenors pavrotti,domingo,& carreras, all said, they use to watch his movies, and he truly inspired them to sing!,and i must say he did us a special favor for that. god bless you mario, rest in peace, you are not alone, all of us remember you, and love you.Louie Vaccaro tenor, las vegas.

Карузо и других певцах... от Карузо сам Марио был в восторге, но я в восторге от голоса Марио Ланца и его дикции... не зная языков, на которых певец поёт, я слышу, как дивно он произносит фразы, слова, а вместе с музыкальным сопровождением, получается шедевр, разве это не прекрасно, поэтому Марио Ланца для меня - самый лучший певец, замечательный актёр! 👏👏👏👏👏🙏🕯️🌹🌹🌹

I’ve listened to all the tenors and Mario is still the best.The recordings of Enrico Caruso are poor by today’s standards but Lanza is the closest that Iv’e heard to Caruso.
And unbelievably, the live version by Mario is at least as good.
No other voice like his.
