Hi, Tiffany I like your tune tutor series, it's really helpful. I'm a beginner harper but I like dance tunes like this. Today I tried recording "Morrison's Jig ". It's fun. Thank you, Tiffany.
@ShelleyE yeah sometimes you have to be careful with the Session too, not that the different versions are wrong per se, but sometimes they can be notated incorrectly (key signature not matching the actual notes, e.g.) The best thing to do is listen to other versions and see what matches best! I'm glad you liked the video! This is one of my very first one ages ago - nowadays I'm teaching a new Celtic arrangement every month with accompanying sheet music at www.patreon.com/tiffanyharpandsong if you want to try it out!
@@tiffanyharpandsong thx Tiffany! Now to work on speed. I decided to learn this on a 22 string blevins so using invertedn on root left hand. Now to find people top play with.
Hi Tiffany!I think this is an intermediate jig, yes? And I am a beginner... But the way you paced this video (so patiently!!) I think I am going to try it... without the hudderums for a while. Part A is so catchy! And I bet part B will grow on me once I learn it.It’ll be s “slow jig” for a while... 😊
Hey Tiffany! A patron here and a quick q for you. In listening to you play the melody first, maybe it's just my ears, but I think I',m hearing some quick ornamentation (grace notes) thrown in that gives it the crisp and ethereal Celtic flavor. Am I imagining things? Asking because I'm trying to recreate what I'm hearing/imagining.
Hi Serena! Yes you are correct. At 1:16 I am playing two E's very quickly with fingers 3 and 2. At 1:41 I play triplet or roll which is 3 of the same note quickly with fingers 3-2-1. I am planning on doing a video just about ornamentation soon, so hopefully that will help. :)
This was my favorite clip of your old channel. Could you please record it once more with the now more up-to-date camera/audio equipment, and upload it here? That would be awesome.
@Tiffany Schaefer Hi, lovely teacher. I am trying to improve my tempo on the guitar at the moment. Is this exactly the same version as the Bothy Band recorded? With that píb uileann thick sound I have difficulties figuring precisely all the notes, especially the 2nd half of the A-part. And are those chords the same Micheál Ó Domhnaill did? Sláinte! Kind regards from Belgia, Brussels
Heyo Tiffany! Cén chaoi a bhfuil tú? Thanks a million for that ceachtín! I play the giotár and to learn a tune by ear the best for me are slow version from a guitar, fidil and the cláirseach. I hope you have more cool and beautiful tunes on your channel. My weak point is the triplets, especially in some reels but also jigs. Do have a video lesson on the triplets by any chance? Cheers and God bless ;) Le dea-mhéin. Tomás from Begium

Thanks so much for letting me know! I love your videos of Morrison's jig!
I really like your process of teaching! I went to get the sheet music of the melody, and the Session must have 20 versions!

Hi Helen! Yes, totally go for it! You can always adapt things to suit your playing level at the moment, like you said. :)

That's great, thanks in advance!
furzkram I'm going to be recording this with my husband on bodhran for this Friday ;) so your request is finally answered a year later lol

Hi Tomas! Yes I recently did a video on ornamentation, and I do go over triplets on the harp. Check out my tune tutor playlist for more fun tunes.
