I got a CDR from you a few years back and absolutely love it. I'm interested in a 110 CSR set-up. Do you still do full custom set up with a carbon RA barrel, or are you selling just the roller head and parts?
Fantastic! Iam going to buy a rollergun and they told me that it s going to be with 16mm bands and a 6,75 shaft , can I put 14mm bands for easy loading?
Nice video and great looking product Chris, it looks effective. Do you know if there are any buoyancy issues on a shorter 700 barrel if it has a reel attached as well.
Hey Chris, can you swap out a 16mm bands and a 7.5 mm shaft with this ultra light muzzle? Or if I wanted to switch out between the two would you recommend the CSR Max for the traditional muzzle?
Very cool, does the light weight muzzle make it possible for a shorter (1 meter) aluminum barrel to float it? I remember your video saying with a standard roller muzzle you would need a carbon barrel to make it float. Cheers 🤙
Jake, That is a good point, One I have not tested checked the buoyancy on all the ali barrels. Will see how short can go on an ali barrel. But a 100 should float no problem.
Great video thanks for sharing Chris! I’ve got RA 1200 conventional railgun (Snapper). Would I be able to convert it to a roller gun with your CSR and using 16mm bands? This for targeting kingfish in NZ.
Hi David, Yes absolutely. either a RA single roller or a CSR will work. Being an ali barrel the gun will be a little heavy in the water. The CSR will help with the buoyancy as it is 50g lighter.
Hey Chris the muzzle looks awesome. Do you see a problem with using the CSR in combination with sharkfin shafts? And do you know if uneven wishbones have any advantage with the CSR?
The muzzle has been designed so you don't need a uneven wishbone. The rails are very low and only designed for 6mm-7.5mm notched shafts. For shark fins you have to have high side rails which are not great for the guns the CSR has been designed for.
Howzit bud the first time I have watched your Video was years back when u spearfished with Morne when u guys both sat on the couch explaining your trip to mozam, do you guys still spearfish together? Hey there, This is a Blackfin7 coatesmans.com/shop/coatesmans-blackfin-float-bag-ver-7/ Eliminates getting taxed off your stinger. A have to use out this way with somany sharks.
Hi Chris I noticed on some of the trips you've been part of some of the guys are using invert rollers on a rob allen handle. Is there a product or a way of modifying the handle/rubbers to ocommodate line anchors for the invert bands and still use a reel? Cheers
Hey Blair, There are a lot of mods that need to happen. From converting to a side line release and anchor points. This also means that you cant add a reel .... well all that easily.
@@CoatesmansSpearfishing yeah that's where I'm at at the moment. I've added a side line release and a line guide to keep the shooting line away from the lugs. I wonder if there would be a fixture that could be attached via the lugs that could act as an achor point?
Hey Chris, great vid. I'm keen to get one of these muzzles. With this setup does it shoot flat, ie. Shaft exits the gun with no tail lift and hits where you point(no compensation)Thanks
@@CoatesmansSpearfishing one more question. Is the CSR able to run 16mm rubbers as well? I know it was designed for 14mm and that's what I would run probably 100% of the time anyway but curious if that tidy little roller head and bearings would handle the extra load.
How does this compare to the rob allen roller muzzle? Is it the same build quality, same efficiency, and same power? Is the only difference the weight of it? Also, you should come to the UAE, 1 hour boat ride out and we get 60 kg king mackerel, but they have teeth so be careful.
M7airbi, I love hunting Kings in the Gulf. Can't wait to get back. The CSR is 50g lighter than the RA muzzle and uses a smaller ceramic bearing. The CSR has been designed to be as light as possible to full fill a specific need in the short roller gun market. The RA on the other hand is designed (as all RA products) to be virtually indestructible. So they use the largest and strongest bearings. As far as efficiency the small rollers are super smooth and the power will be determined by the rubber & shaft setup. The CSR is specifically designed for small rollers needing to be light for buoyancy and sleek for maneuverability and visual down the gun. I am sure you guys are using 120 &130 rollers, on this length gun the RA is 100%
Hi Chris roller looks like it works pretty good. Did you do much testing of roller position in terms of height. Does it affect shaft flight if the roller is set to high or low?

Drop me an email and I will send you a price list of the guns I am building.

Hey Chris,
do you think I can use this muzzle on a 120 carbon barrel with a 16mm band paired with a 7.5mm shaft?

What gun are you looking at and what length?
Hi a handmade one with 95 cm barrel
Nice video and great looking product Chris, it looks effective. Do you know if there are any buoyancy issues on a shorter 700 barrel if it has a reel attached as well.
Will be doing some buoyancy tests and get a video out there on various gun lengths and setups.
Hey Chris, can you swap out a 16mm bands and a 7.5 mm shaft with this ultra light muzzle? Or if I wanted to switch out between the two would you recommend the CSR Max for the traditional muzzle?

Saw Morne in the surf yesterday. Those old trips / videos are epic. I should get them up on the tube.
I recon I'd like to see them again👌
Hey Chris, nice looking muzzle, just want to ask if the bearings are the same size used by RA ? thx
No these are much smaller, and lighter.
Hi Chris have u try'd The RA drop barb??? or do u think the double flipper is the better bet????
GH my preference for most spearing is the double flopper. But with large pelagics like wahoo and doggies then the drop barb is the way forward.
Hey Chris, hello from Palau! Nice gun, but what kind of float/bag is that?

Hey, Coatesman you don't have csr anymore! You need to produce more of them, when will you have them again?!
Great video as always! Cheers!
stock will arrive this week 👍
Hi chris, how many wraps of shooting line are u using? How many wraps would you use on a 90 cm single roller with a reel?
Hey Pablo,
I use double wrap on all rollers. A single wrap is just too short.

Fish Hunter,
Almost 10 years of RnD has gone into this muzzle. The CSR & CDR both take care of basic issues like shaft lift. 👌
