  • I had an absolutely EPIC metal detecting trip in Croatia! My friends Aaron, Nikki and Geoff were with me and between us we found 13 GOLD RINGS, a GOLD MEDALLION, 3 SILVER RINGS, A SILVER CHAIN, 150 EUROS and MORE! Did I mention that 4 of these rings had DIAMONDS!

    though I had some problem with sea water It also ruclips.net/user/postUgkxa-FNYUOM93a388gi9a4brtSCEVmrHgJH land for finding any things very easily. (thought it would work as normal due to it being water proof within certain parts of the detector), on dry land and sand worked well. My first one, so still have lots to learn

    What an Amazing Video, excellent finds! We already have our tickets booked, can't wait for Summer 2017! I have a CTX and am from an Island near Zadar. I'm curious, what gloves are you using? Also are you using a chest mount for your Go-Pro? Do you replace the gaskets on your CTX often to make sure you keep the water out? Thanks for your help!

    • @AmericanDiggerInEurope
      @AmericanDiggerInEurope  7 лет назад +1

      I've been to Zadar many times over the past 20 years! Which island are you from? My wife is from Otok Murter which isn't far from Zadar!I'm wearing 3mm neoprene diving gloves and mounted my GoPro on the bill of my baseball cap. I changed the gasket in my CTX 3030 to a much thicker one and I highly recommend that you change yours too, especially if you're MDing in the water! I switched mine out over a year ago and I still have a tight seal. Just make sure that after every hunt, you clean the gasket so that it maintains its integrity!Thanks for watching and if you need anymore advice, just ask! GL and HH!Craig

    • @poljana
      @poljana 7 лет назад

      Thanks for the tips Craig! I'm from the Island of Ugljan, I haven't been there since 2010 and started detecting in 2011 so I've never detected there. I've beach hunted before, but only submerged my machine a few times, however I'm planning on being in the water there a lot. I have a 9' T-Rex stainless steel scoop that I may bring with me, haven't decided for sure yet. Do you use the scoop much in the water or just fan the sand? What tether are you using for your pin pointer, anything special or just a plain old piece of rope? When you get out in the early hours, is the water temperature warm enough, or would you put on some light gear on? Sorry for all the questions, thanks again!
      Eddie

    • @AmericanDiggerInEurope
      @AmericanDiggerInEurope  7 лет назад +1

      Eddie,Make sure you get WATERPROOF headphones for your CTX if you're going to detect in the sea. One slip in the water and the regular CTX headphones and most importantly, your audio sending unit are done!When I'm beach and shallow water detecting, I always use my scoop. I fan only while SCUBA detecting. As far as securing my pinpointer, I use a pistol lanyard. They're very cheap, but "bombproof". Early in the morning, even in August the water in the Adriatic is still cold. I always wear a shorty 2.5 mm wetsuit! This past August, after the bura was past, the water was so cold I needed a 5mm wetsuit to stay in the water more than 20 minutes!Anything I can do to help!Craig

    • @poljana
      @poljana 7 лет назад

      Awesome, thanks for all the great advice! I actually have Grey Ghost Underwater headphones. What heaphones are you using for the water, the yellow Minelab ones? I'm definitely picking up the lanyard you mentioned for my waterproof Garrett pin pointer. Where did you pick up those new upgraded seals for the CTX? Also what scoop are you using, is it around 3lbs in weight? By the way, I also have the 6" coil and I see you use it in some of your vids. It's a lot easier to swing the 6 vs the 11 right? Should I bring both coils with me? Thx bud

    • @AmericanDiggerInEurope
      @AmericanDiggerInEurope  7 лет назад

      I have Grey Ghosts and the yellow Minelab headphones for the CTX. I'll have to get back to you on where I bought the seals.
      My scoop is a Stealth 720i and I prefer it over some other scoops because it has a pointed tip, which really helps picking out targets that are stuck between big beach rocks.
      Bring both coils with you! You'll probably need them!

    hello, is garret at pro useful for the search for underwater in croatia??? I mean depht signal... or you recommend garret sea hunter mark II... or you recommend any metal detector? Minelab is for me too expensive now. thanks

    • @AmericanDiggerInEurope
      @AmericanDiggerInEurope  7 лет назад

      The AT Pro is ok for beach hunting, but in salt water it has problems with false signals. If you're looking to metal detect in the sea and at any depth past waist deep, I recommend the Sea Hunter MK II. You'll get good depth and almost no false signals. (BTW: I used an AT Pro and a Sea Hunter MKII before switching to Minelab.)

    • @branislavsestak5906
      @branislavsestak5906 7 лет назад

      thank for answer , how much is deeper sea hunter MKII than excalibur II? you can use discriminate on sea hunter MKII or you have on 0(zero)

    • @AmericanDiggerInEurope
      @AmericanDiggerInEurope  7 лет назад

      The Excalibur II is superior over the Sea Hunter MK II in all aspects including target depth and discrimination. I still have a Sea Hunter MK II that I use as a back-up. I don't discriminate anything when using the MK II because it is too easy to walk right over and miss gold if you do. So yes, ZERO! If I were you, I'd save my money and get an Excalibur II. You won't regret it!

    • @branislavsestak5906
      @branislavsestak5906 7 лет назад

      Thank you, but I have a question, Is too much iron target near the beach in depth seawater max 2m in croatia? Is here usable MKII on Disc 0??? I will have too much false sound (mean little iron rust,corrosion iron..) Have you any experience with croatian sea?

    • @AmericanDiggerInEurope
      @AmericanDiggerInEurope  7 лет назад

      I lived in Croatia for 12 years and my wife is Croatian. I metal detect the Croatian Coast all year round. The MK II set on zero discrimination is the way I always set my machine. If you don't, you have a chance of missing gold.

    Can I ask what part of Croatia you visited? I was in and around Split last year and it was fantastic! Have you experienced any issues detecting there? Appreciate any insight or lessons learned!

    • @AmericanDiggerInEurope
      @AmericanDiggerInEurope  7 лет назад

      I was north of Split, in the area around Sibenik. I lived in Croatia for 12
      years and my wife is Croatian. I've had no adverse experiences there, except
      two buttheads that thought they knew Croatian law regarding metal detecting,
      but I put both of them in their place!
      If you do SCUBA detecting there, you need to purchase a license to dive. If
      you get caught without one, the police will seize ALL of your equipment and
      you WILL go to jail and be fined up to 10,000 EURO!

      I'm using the Excalibur II, Nikki is using the CTX 3030, Aaron is using the Sea Hunter MK II and Geoff is using the Sea Hunter MK II and the AT Pro in this video.

    • @banjony
      @banjony 7 лет назад

      How deep did you go. The ctx only is rated for 10 feet of water....

    • @AmericanDiggerInEurope

      I was 15 feet max and was using the Minelab Excalibur II, not the CTX 3030.

    • @AmericanDiggerInEurope
      @AmericanDiggerInEurope  6 лет назад

      Actually I like it BETTER than the dive shaft! I used the dive shaft for 2 years and then decided to try a beach shaft and it works very well for me!

    • @missynunyabiz1389
      @missynunyabiz1389 5 лет назад

      American Digger In Europe i live in los angeles and i have been trying out santa monica beach next to the pier for safety since i only have time at night. But im learning. Its kind of dangerous. A drunk came up to me and demanded i detect his crotch area for treasure. On one hand it was funny as hell but on the other... i also tried long ibeach but thats not a good place at all now because there are used syringes everywhere in the sand.

      American Digger In Europe do you not worry about sharks? That would be my first fear with a close second being that the current causes me to turn in the wrong direction and i find myself far from shore!

  • @arbeachhunt4089

    What do you think about Tesoro Sand Shark? I have to figure out how to get my wife to allow me lol. I do have some really good ideas. No more than $700.00.

    • @AmericanDiggerInEurope
      @AmericanDiggerInEurope  7 лет назад

      Willie B: I've never tested the Sand Shark. I do have a Garrett Sea Hunter MK II that cost me around $550.00 brand new from Kellyco. I had great success with it and it's a solid machine. I've since upgraded to the Minelab Excalibur II which costs around $1500.00.

      It's a Minelab Excalibur II and costs about $1500.00 US. Aaron is using a Garrett Sea Hunter MK II which costs around $600.00. But like anything else, you get what you pay for! GL and HH!

    I don't doubt that you guys find anything but your video is just showing you standing in a foot of water and you just pulling out stuff out of your sand sifter you're not showing us that you actually found this stuff . I can't stand when people show people in the videos all they found all the straight and half the time they don't show how they found it
