    Love your videos, very helpful and informative. I own a Rocket Giotta but I've never descaled my machine in 6 years of owning for the simple reason the instruction manual advises against descaling the machine. On watching your video I removed the large screw on the group head and there was in deed a build up green scales which I scraped away then refitted but now I'm a little concerned about the condition of the boiler. Maybe time for a service from a professional I'm thinking although the machine still works perfectly...

      glad you had a look inside, best to drain the boiler using the hot tap a few times now and remove the hot tap diffuser screen as it will catch the build up., this will help in the mean time. then yes look to a service for a descale, or wait till the element dies then do it as its the same process and you may end up paying twice.

    Dear Video Presenter , i am trying to arrange below steps for cleaning grinder including Dozer Champer and Hopper , are you able to help me please to arrange from step 1 to step 7 , please find below
    Remove the hopper and remove all remaining coffee debris and grit.
    Disconnect the grinder, remove and dispose of or store any unused beans or ground from the bean hopper
    Ensure all coffee beans and grounds are removed from the hopper and chamber and store these in air-tight containers as required to maintain freshness for future use.
    Check the chute from the hopper and where coffee dispenses from, and remove debris with a non-metal implement such as a chopstick, cotton buds, or a dry cloth
    With a dry cloth wipe the inside of the hopper during service hours and wash with hot soapy water/damp cloth at the end of each day
    Remove burrs/blades, clean/wipe down (inner burr sets are more difficult to remove and may be better wiped clean in situ).
    Remove the grinds chamber (if this is removable) and wash and wipe down thoroughly (if not removable wipe this out in situ)

    Always appreciate your videos, practical information you can trust. Can you give any information on buying Vs leasing espresso machines and coffee equipment? What sort of service and maintain can you expect when buying Vs leasing etc.?

    • @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters
      @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters  3 года назад

      Great question, there is a lot to cover in this scenario. We will do a buying vs leasing video pros and cons for sure, as for service on the equipment per year, basic services are 2-3 times a year and then a major service, this varies on volume per week. On a 2 group machine and grinder the basic services will be approx $250 and a major would be $500. But this really ball park considering high end grinder blades can cost over $350 a set when cheap ones are $65? Cheaper water filters are $50 we use the Puretec basic double kit is $200, the ones we use on Lm’s are $550. So very ball park figures

      I have seen professional maintenance videos from usa recomending not to use these added menerals as they start to coat your boiler temp sensors and with time the machine will over heat and you will brew at wrong temperature. Just use internal water filter.

    Thanks for the vid, love how informative your videos are. Keep up the great work 👍🏼 Quick question... what is that commercial-style filtration system you were holding up? Could you link the name or exact product so I can check it out? I can see it's Puretec but they seem to have a lot of different products.

    • @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters
      @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters  2 года назад +1

      They have lots, we will be doing more on these soon. We use 5 different types depending on the water quality. Co-uz150 kits or co-t150kits👍🏻

    I never would have thought about water quality when construction is occurring nearby. Thank you for the tips. I have heard of people using distilled water with minerals added back in to around 55 ppm. Is that a good alternative to filtration? I currently use a Zero water filter mixed with tap water but, would not mind changing over to distilled. What are your thoughts?

    • @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters
      @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters  2 года назад +2

      Yes this is good, you can have a (RO)reverse osmosis system then add back a range of minerals to make great coffee. It’s the most precise way to get your water right

    • @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters
      @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters  3 года назад +2

      Yes, I’m on tank water too, so you won’t have chlorine or chlorides in the water so don’t buy a filter that filters this, you want to ensure your filter is a sediment filter and may have a softener to it, but that depends on the water you catch from you roof.

    What would you guys recommend using to descale a coffee machine with a copper boiler?

  • @olipito

    How do I put the acid in the machine if it's directly connected to the tap water supply?

    • @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters
      @ArtistiCoffeeRoasters  3 года назад +1

      Good question, most machines also have a tank, so you can use this. Or you would disconnect the water line, make up a descale and water mix in a bucket and suck it up through the hose. This is best to to by turning your machine off and leaving the hot tap on. It will empty the boiler, Let the machine cool, then when you turn it back on it will suck a lot of water up to fill the boiler. 👍🏻

    For a home machine is vinegar strong enough to use for descale?

    • @peaceful3250
      @peaceful3250 Год назад

      I'm just a home barista so no expert but I know that with earlier Breville models they wrote in the user guide to use vinegar. Later they said not to use vinegar and to buy their products instead. To my mind that was a lie to try to sell their very expensive products. I used vinegar in my Breville machines with no problems.
