Even though music is all subjective and everyone has there own list of top rappers, it's kinda hard to ignore the numbers that eminem is still pulling in. When album sales was a thing, he was the highest selling rap artist of all time, but nowadays with streams, the dude still brings in hundreds of millions of streams.
Exactly music is subjective. I don't enjoy Eminem's music so I don't have him ranked high.

@lucaondrugs4251 Not necessarily there are rappers who are better than who passed way too soon. Big Pun and Big L to name two. I think people consider commercial success to be the end all be all. For example, ensured his success by making sure that djs in ny played his music over anybody else.

@@nathanielperryii296 I don’t listen to Em very much these days myself but I’m considering other factors such as artistry, lyrical ability, discography, impact and influence to the culture, etc. just like many others I grew up listening to Em daily and although I don’t listen to him on a consistent basis daily anymore it’s crazy to say that he isn’t one of the best to do it, especially since he still putting up numbers every time he drop.
That’s not to say there isn’t anybody doing it better than him atm bc there is, but i mean as far as all time goes he’s one of the best. As far as Drake goes he is a major player in the game too for sure but he not competing with Em. I’d argue somebody like Kendrick is much closer to what Em did for hip hop.
@Milessss I'm considering all that stuff too and that's why he is not high for me. It's subjective. There are rappers that lead the way and opened doors for Eminem. There are rappers better than Eminem but didn't have the breaks that he did.

You can argue there’s rappers better than him sure, but I believe a lot more goes into being a great artist/rapper than just having good bars. A lot of rappers with great lyrically ability typically don’t make it big bc they lack personality or are just flat out boring/corny.
@Milessss Numbers are also based on who you have in your corner and the demographic you can reach. Eminem is in a lane that hasnt been exploited to its fullest. In a saturated market a good rapper who's unique can find lots of success. He had the perfect storm, plus he changed his flow from his first album to something more eye catching

We need to start separating these artist and rate them by what they are. Rappers and artist are not the same. For example, 50 is arguably top 20 artist but 30-50 of actual rapper. Eminem as a rapper is top 5 period but artist, enjoyable music, I see why people don't put him in top 5. It's not the most enjoyable.

Em is barely in my top 10 (I'd say 7 or 8th) And I'm as Hip-Hop head as it possibly gets. But I do love almost everything he puts out. And I personally think that he is the greatest "technical" rapper oat but not the most lyrical. His body of work is also inconsistent (Encore, Relapse, MMLP 2, Revival these are all bad to mid albums)
Eminem doesn't have to be in everybody's top 3, Hip-Hop music is still opinionated and it's not an obligation for anyone to worship Eminem like y'all stans. There are mad rappers that can be placed above him but people refuse to expand their listening horizons and stay in that bubble of ignorance.
