This is why Charlene McGee must take on North Korea burning their government officials, border guards and their leader making sure she saves all the North Korean defectors escaping this nation. I treat Charlene McGee nicely, caring, respectfully, and equally all the time even if she is a grownup.
The book version: The firefighter silver suits were pointless. She was tested to set fires with 30,000 degrees kelvin - effortlessly blowing apart cinderblock walls through explosive outgassing. Tungsten _boils_ at 6203 K, so this Charlie is anaemic in comparison. Also in the original movie's end scene she walks out of the facility while vaporizing bullets fired from full-auto weapons & at the very end sends off a fireball to blow up stuff - explosive effect of about a 100m afair. Here? Haybales are on fire......
The book made it so beautifully clear, just how dangerous and destructive Charlie's Powers really were. The sheer power of fire. I know a lot of people like this version, but it was a big disappointment for me as a big fan of the book and the 1984 adaptation.

In the original, her powers were tested in the facility before she broke out. In the remake, she was never tested, so we don't know how powerful she is.
Wow, how is this so much worse than the original? I was really hoping this scene would be better since we have come such a long way with special effects but it isn't even close to being as epic!
Holy moly, when did she go berserk? And also why were fire proof suits able to stop her? In the book she was able to burn cinderblock which needs over 700 degrees. Even a fire resistant suit can't endure that let alone the person inside it.
The guy took down 5 men with three shots. Impressive. Anyway, judging by the smoke that came from the other guys mouth, it's good that she let him walk away with only internal 3rd degree burns.
That's soooo freaking low budgeted! This scene was sooo much better in the original! SHE KILLED SO MUCH IN THE ORIGINAL MOVIE! The props and the set design loooks like it came straight out of a SYFY TV MOVIE.

While I admit the original was better there's something I liked about this scene when you think about the events of the movie Charlie and Rainbird have had a few encounters throughout and here they are at the end. Both have been controlled or hunted in some way be it by your loving parents or power hungry creators but now all those people are gone now it's just the two of them face to face with death and destruction all around them.
