I freaking love this show! At first I thought the gimmick was to make a reverse isekai but at the end, as an artist like Sota and Setsuna, their struggles were very grounded. Imagine creating something out of love, being able to start growing your career to what you may have considered to be a hobby and even make a friend, just so the world bombards you, criticize you, push you down, mocks your hard work and efforts. Setsuna was a talented kid that drew and sang, she created that character thanks to a collaboration with a popular producer. A character that she wanted to show to her friend, and hoped it to be loved and accepted by the rest. It's a shame a lot of people hate her and Altair, as well, the ending of the series. If a being had the power to modify the curse of narrative as it performed, then, there was no need for a tragic ending when the people desired for a happy one to happen) If you were to step inside the art and music community just for a single second, this would have a tiny bit of sense to most of people, how popularity then constant bullying can lead someone to commit suicide, just like happened with the streamer RoroChan_1999 or other several artists who died overworking themselves or by the constant pressure of the world drowning them (Just like we see in the first opening where Setsuna Drowns, while Sota is in a desert and holding water with his hands, this, represent the visibility, likes and influence they had on the art platform they were in, which could be Pixiv if translated to the real world). A lot may believe Setsuna was the real villain here, why a kid who got immediatly popular and hated at the same time would be a villain?
