- LED Light Bulbs jam Liftmaster garage door motor remotes! Door goes both up and down with the button on garage wall. Will go up with the remote but will not go down, such as when I drive away.
Replace or remove the LED bulbs. Your sanity will return!
I did find older model GE LED bulbs with heat sinks, that work. The culprits I removed were Feit brand from costco that look like a regular bulb with no heat sink. Приколы
3 years later and this video is still helping people, THANK YOU!!!! I searched everywhere and nothing was working; watched your video, knew I had just changed the bulbs in both of my systems, replaced the LED bulbs with regular 60 Watt bulbs, pushed the button on the remote and the darn things worked again.
I really appreciated this video! I had done everything I could think of, and was ready to just replace it. To find out it was something so simple, really made my day!!
I had the same problem, just removed the light bulb and problem solved. Thanks so much for posting this video!! Who would have thought that the fix was so simple and will make a huge difference when I leave early in during a snowstorm. Thank you!
Thank You! Now I have to find my receipt for the new remote control switch I just purchased. It makes all the freakin sense. I thought the Home Link was garbage. This should be included in the instruction sheet. Thank You!
Thanks for sharing! I think you’re onto something here. It worked when I removed the light bulb.
Thank you so much! I was going crazy over this issue for months! You are a kind person for making this video and sharing it.
THANKS! This was driving me CRAZY!
Had the same symptom, was not the bulbs, but i had mounted my battery chargers for hand tools on the wall, after watching this video it led me the correct the problem, thank you.
Thank you! Changed my bulb a few weeks ago and have been dealing with it ever since. Just Removed led bulb and now opener works again!
This absolutely worked! Although now I'm a bit concerned about what LED bulbs are emitting to block a signal from a remote...
Trevor, thank you very much for sharing this information. I erased codes and re-programmed the remotes which failed to solve my problem. I thought I was going to have to replace the old opener or its motherboard. I gave RUclips one more search and found your video which easily solved my issue.
As soon you mentioned LED light bulb interferes remote transmission signal, I replaced my recently installed LED bulb and now everything works. Thank you, thank you... I almost go thru the trouble of replacing my garage door opener. Phew.
YES, YES, YEEEEESSSSS, that's it. Its fixed. It's been 2 years and finally find the solution. I remove the bulbs and will never put it back !
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Solved and now working.
Thanks for posting! We had the same problem and removing LED bulbs worked!
thanks for info, it worked like a charm as soon as I took the led lights out , the door went down, tks so much was going crazy to figure out what happened , as it just happened this morning, went up and down for a long time with the led lights in the opener,,, tks again
Oh wow!! I can’t wait to try this. I literally have a remote keypad in my Amazon basket and my current one is only a few months old.
Wow what a life saver. Such a weird situation nevwr would have thought it was the 💡
Thanks this was the problem I was having
I watch the video I took the two bulbs out and it worked I cannot believe it was that simple
This video pointed me in the right direction. It’s not just LED; it started happening to me with halogen during the winter. Given that the remote works on Infra red/radio, some interference appears to be happening. Mine started doing after a year plus with the bulb so not sure if it’s the coating (on the bulb) or what changed.
Thank you very much,I could not even solve the problem with a [garage door service call ] You solved the problem for me!!!!!!!!!!!
This fixed my issue, thanks!
Thanks, very helpful 🧠
I’ve had FEIT lightbulbs on my lift master opener for years. Just now it’s not closing. I have the same problem. I just opened it with both lights on and it works, up and down with both remotes. I even tried it from inside the garage and from the curb. This thing must have a mind of its own.
Thank you so much!! Have the same problem. Hope this will fix it.
You rock dude. Thanks
Huuuuge help! Thank you sir.
THANK you! Solution worked VERY well for me. What bulb do you recommend as a replacement?
Thanks
I have this problem and checked my opener units and found I do have LED bulbs in there. So, that could be causing it. However, I have LED bulbs in the other bay's unit as well but the issue has never come up there. I took them out of the problematic side and will see if it improves. Thanks.
Mine doing the same thing but no lED lights! I think my car has them .
Did it fix the problem
Incandescent bulbs will also cause the problem.
Had the same issue. I had an LED bulb so I changed it to an incandescent bulb but the issue was not solved. I found if I wait for 5 min. after opening, until the bulb turns off automatically, then my remote could close the door, even without any bulb! waited for 5 min. until I hear the click, the remote worked. Now, I turn the light off manually using the switch on the wall, then the remote works without 5 min. waiting. Weird...
I have the same issue and going to replace the mortherboad and do not know if and solve this issue. It takes me a lot of time to wait the light off every day!
@@stevewang6817 I have the exact same issue. Did you change the board and did it fix it?
Has the same problem after changing to a garage door specific light bulb. Goes up with remote but won't go down with remote.
Same here! Has opened in the middle of the night by itself. So I brought the remotes and fob and put into a tin cup. Now I can’t close from outside 😢
This isnt the issue mine didn't even ha e a bulb in it. So that has nothing to do with it
Did you ever figure out what the issue was?
@@williamluis9846 I've seen other posts that suggest this symptom is a faulty 330uF 35V capacitor. Most users replace this to resolve the issue.
Didn’t work
Thanks for nothing, slow talking guy.
Considering he took the time to make a video that wasn't intended just for you, and you did nothing to contribute to the making of this video, and also that it is a very niche troubleshooting video, I'd say he did quite a bit. You really railing on the guy for not knowing what specific issue your opener is having? Lol. Like... how can you expect his video to be tailored to you when it's about his opener and he's sharing his experience to try to help others. People are so unbelievable. Ungrateful, selfish, grumpy-ass people.
