I’m glad they fixed the helmet paint but it’s a huge letdown for my that they painted the the tabards like they’re part of the armor. It might ruin it for me, but it’s still a great figure overall

He looks fantastic. Totally agree we need Daine Jir to complete that scene on Tantive IV, on a Star Wars card. He was on my March Madness list, but did have to bump him out of the top 25 for other figures. Also need Commander Praji, General Tagge, Yularen, hell just give me all of them on single card.

This figure is amazing, AND YET, I'm gonna pass. I've already got Dark Times Vader and Split Helmet Vader, and that's good enough for me. I think he looks awesome, though.
Dark Time Vader is so good. Not a whole lot of difference really
And the Anakain one that came in the 2 pack. I think TDT Vader was the ultimate and all the variations we get are about the same
I have the latest "Return of the Jedi" Vader, and I will also get this one. I think I may get two so I can open one. I really like the design for New Hope over Jedi.
That figure again shows how far these 3.75s have come - amazing detail and paint job. Hardly anything that can be topped…. brilliant 🎉
Good review and comparison vid! Loveba good Vader fig. In fact, I just opened (which is pretty rare) that new "A NewHope" Vader from the BlackSeries and I was just blown away.
I realize it's like his 3rd release or something to that effect, but daaaang that fig's incredible. If this one's half as good, it'll instantly be my new favorite. Thnx again!

I have this Vader, it's a good Vader, the only thing that's wrong with this and that's the cape, there is to much material.
I was definitely grabbing this one purely for the cardback...but I may get another just for the differences with the Dark Times Vader to A New Hope...thanks for this review Tim!

I will be picking this version of Vader to add to my ' New Hope ' collection to bad they didn't include the hand that choked Capt. Antilles and a clear stand to support the weight it would of given the appearance of Vader choking Antilles.

Yesssss!!!! Only got this figure because of your recommendation buddy. So do you think it is now the definitive Vader? That last pose looks so cool. So iconic.
Yeah, I mean some would want soft goods to go over the shoulders but I think it looks good.
Sadly, still not definitive due to the HUGE error of having glossy tabards covering the chest armor! Your close up shots really show off this mistake. You can see they've painted the tabards matte directly below the bottom edge of the armor, but they should be matte all the way up. Been waiting on Steve to address this. He's definitely aware of it, but has not commented thus far. Hopefully a running change is on the way.

Four details make him ANH, not sure if there might be more? Robes on outside. Red eyes. Colours of chest plate switches. Lines in gloves run perpendicular to his forearms. TESB and ROTJ they run parallel to forearms.
He actually has an entirely new head mold because the ANH and Kenobi helmets and masks are different. I didn't expect Hasbro to go the extra mile that way and that's the kind of effort we should reward.
Now we need his ship.

The cardback isn’t one-to-one from the Kenner days/VOTC/VC08/VC93. I did point out before in a previous comment that they flipped the chestbox to prevent the mirror effect to be noticed although the gray of the mask remains unchanged.. A reminder that the OG image was flipped as were many shots in the editing of the original film.
I still prefer the RotJ Vader as a full package, but the novelty of having the closest to definitive OG Vader is great. Both carded and loose figures are next to my 3D Sculpture Puzzle of Vader, and I now need the definitive Empire version so I can then complete the circle.

That’s the definitive TVC Vader for me.

I want all of these “Star Wars” card figures in mint condition but so far I’m struggling in obtaining that here in the US… anyone have recommendations? I got some in from GameStop and all had the ring of death
