giant brown paillettes, those round shouldered vintage style coats, collars up the neck, always love Prada. Star Trek meets 1920's post pandemic sterility in the hippie bedroom. Or maybe it's just a 1960's pandemic. cool and so pretty

I really loved the menswear collection so this echoing elements from it (well actually its basically the womenswear version of it) is so great. I lovee the shoes and accessories and i’m so glad they decided to replicate the colorful coats from the menswear collection. & the sparkly sequined coats are to die for😍😭
Way better than the spring collection they showed last season. The textures, colours, and silhouettes are all much of what Prada is compared to what we saw last season.
@@DonnaChamberson It felt more like Raf Simons than Prada, silhouettes had some resemblance to her designs such as a long tunic shirt with straight trousers underneath or the fitted turtleneck shirt tucked in an A-line skirt, but the way it was executed just felt a lot like Raf's designs. The polka dot prints, the teared holes in the shirts, and the giant Prada logo on some of the shirts just kept making me think of Raf's work at CK. The only thing that really felt like Prada were the kitten heels, but the way they were all styled just gave me a lot of Simons. I wonder if Miuccia intentionally did that to give him a vision since it was their first debut collaboration or if he just has very strong ideas and she just went along with it. Anywho, this is wayyy better with equal parts Raf & Miuccia.
@@alann8946 That’s very interesting! I’m just now getting into high fashion (I have a lot to learn) but I’ve bought a few vintage items from Prada, Chanel, Hermès, and Burberry. I love Prada; I can’t put it into words as eloquently as you can but they are so classy and subdued. I know Raf Simons is relatively new to Prada and am a bit hesitant on him. Some of the other Italian fashion houses seem more overtly sexy and outlandish (like Gucci, Moschino, Versace). Prada just seems different! I’m a bit overwhelmed but just trying to piece everything together and watch my first runway shows! 🙂
@@DonnaChamberson I feel like he could be a good fit if he doesn't pull off what he did at Calvin Klein. Don't get me wrong, I do like what he did at Calvin Klein but I can also see how his collections there missed the target audience that the brand is normally known for. Prada's designs almost gives me that "ugly-chic" vibe that is minimalistic but has an edge that gives it uniqueness. If Raf Simons can continue on with that Prada aesthetic, it'll be a good fit.
I can't believe I got this ad a video that was shorter than the advertisement itself, but it does make sense that I got this watching an Alice in Wonderland video. This whole setup is equally surreal and I imagine equally as unfuun to be trapped in.
May we always have an added depth of the design and process as we have now in the conversation following the show. The fashion is fresh with the set and filming a perfect match.
(Jawdropping) the set and music and styling are beautiful. Leave it to Prada to showcase a beautiful, edgy and amazing collection co-designed by two legends. Always staying ahead of the curve and innovating fashion. The wrap is signature Miuccia but Raf and her have basically thrown it into our wardrobes. A great collection and alot to disect and review.
Bravo ! 👍❤️👏
Hunter Schafer, honey, READ A BOOK and LIKE expand your vocabulary. It's kinda insulting having her on this panel (regardless how beautiful she looks). Prada and Raf collab gets better by the season, the dialogue is more clear and equal. Those men and women's bomber jackets, the prints, coats. Brilliant.
I personally loved her input here and the contrast she said between different forms of art. She is a beautiful person that may have been a little nervous she is actually very smart I know as I have read and watched a lot of interviews she has been in. You can see when you watch how enveloped into the fashion industry she is and how much she is drawn to it. Also I agree the jackets are all beautiful and the prints!
What added depth of design? So of these cardigans and coats remind me my grandma. She had a conservative test. The idea if making women's clothes manly is evil. Men and women are different and that is very good.
Why can’t women’s clothes appear stereotypically masculine? It’s 2021, these fashion pieces are beautiful. Clothes don’t have gender they are pieces of fabric orchestrated by society saying they have to belong in categories.
@Big Seltzer I was responding to the person saying that making women’s clothes manly is evil, which I disagreed with. Yes people can wear whatever they want I don’t understand the point you were trying to get at. Also I’m not saying clothes themselves are a societal construct I’m saying that clothes assigned to specific genders are. The rules that govern what men and women should wear are actually fairly arbitrary. We know that because they keep changing. For centuries in Europe men and women wore gender neutral clothes, it is only modern society where clothes typically feminine are assigned to female and vice versa.
@@caitlinfuller8317 lol their comment was very contradictory to me, and you explained your point clearly, i don’t understand how it was misconstrued like that.
If you’re looking at high fashion shows as this rigid dictation of how you should dress, then your approach is misguided. Most of these looks could be seen as impractical in the real world but a fashion show is a presentation of ideas and concepts that are constantly pushing the envelope. It is up to you to decide what you want to take from them and apply to your own life. Only die-hard fans would wear a head to toe look styled the same way in the show but when you dissect each different piece, you can see that everything has a time and place on its own, even the more eccentric pieces. Let go of the affinity to the way you think society wants you to dress and have fun with it. Enjoy the artistry :)
You're partly right. Although what's interesting is right now there are like 3 major fashion houses emulating the designs and styling from Prada of the early 2010s. So while this is supposed to be ridiculous, Miuccia Prada (and now Raf Simons) are probably really just that far ahead of everyone else. I wouldn't be surprised if this kind of stuff is copied years from now, and then eventually trickles down and becomes part of regular street fashion.
