protip: the drive shafts that go into the final drive make sure to keep the collars greased, we neglected the inner collars on our 8240 last year and it stripped the splines off. wasn't terribly expensive but it was a half a day down time. oh and check the final drive oil regularly. our 8230 lost all its oil and went out, that one was a bit more spendy.
It's 94 and humid in Missouri and I just got goosebumps when you pulled out the 8230! Absolutely awesome, love watching you guys farm God bless & take care!
My dad retired when he was 50 and bought a hobby farm in West Virginia. He loved mowing fields, putting hay bales in the loft, etc, etc. I spent one week a year there on vacation and we would work together every day on some job which I knew zero about. It was a great experience for about 25 years. This video reminded me of working with dad. There was always something broken or whatever and a solution had to be figured out on your own. It was an hour trip to buy a loaf of bread so we would have to dream up some way to fix it or go another route. You do the same stuff, but on a much larger scale, and not just for fun. You are also good video producers. Well done.
Really enjoyed this video, the drone footage of the test drive was absolutely fantastic, my second favorite was watching Scott cower when you yelled at him to "get it done, I'm going to get coffee... wait..." lol really enjoyed this video. Glad all your hard work is paying off in some exposure benefits to big companies to showcase their products. God bless!
Keep up the great videos. It is great to see how you tackle everyday farm challenges. Not always the safest way but sometimes you just need to get it done. May God bless you Welkers.
CaseIH should really do a lot of new equipment Demo's and other videos around and on your farm! You have the greatest drone operator's and editors and you always are pushing your equipment to the limits.
Love the editing, been watching this channel for like 5 months and never bored of it! I have no farming background I live in San Francisco but great way to learn. Keep it up!
Another machine "Welkerized" ! Lol....she looks awesome boys. Should be a very comfortable ride for harvest and much less soil compaction for the land.
Very impressive tires & install ... great job in recording all the aspects of getting them installed, not to mention the creativity that was also required. Great team work. Going to be very impressive watching it in the field as well.
i can already tell you that these new tires will work better in muddy conditions than any set of duals out there.in the Netherlands we do a lot of testing as well, and it has been proven that wide singles are better than duals that equal thew same width as these wide singles. i'd say that's a good purchase!
Lol that picture of leg arms bench pressing the tires up !!! Lol 1000 thumbs up...... An them are some wicked wide tires ... Pounds per square inch should immensely help on soil compaction also should make a huge difference going through the wet ground. Also?? I am extremely curious on the ride part of the tires... In theory it should write better then the duels but I think you're going to find a little more side rock.. Only possible downside to that is the pounds per square inch for traction. You now have less pounds per square inch of weight traction but that being said traction is not the issue it's soil compaction that's what cost you money... Like you I'm extremely interested to see how it performs... We just NOW this week we're able to get on the fields in my area lots of seed corn went back or was held over for next year everything we got is going to soybeans... It's almost too late for soy beans all we can hope for is a very late Frost and late winter cuz it really sucks big time combine beans in the snow... But it's in God's hands now make-or-break it's in his hands.... But love the sweet tires!!! Ok I got to get back on the sprayer got sixty acres to get sprayed with Roundup yet tonight ...
Worked at a New Holland dealer for a couple of months and we put those tires on combines and a big 4 wheel drive tractor. It was pretty cool! I would love to come work for you guys for a summer! I love welding and fixing things and I’m going to a diesel tech program.
Here in row crop country, dual are preferred because the corn stalks will chew up a set of tires every year. Duals are easier than floaters with stalk stompers.
Lots of CaseIH combines in my part of the world with LSW’s, they’re 1250’s though. I haven’t seen one with 1400’s yet. On a different note, we will be getting 3 new Claas Lexion Terra Trac’s to harvest rice with this year, y’all come on down to Mississippi and drive one.

You can remove the extension from the impact gun. It dampens the hardness of the impact on the nut a little bit. Also try to use a short air pressure hose, as there is a loss of pressure the longer the hose is. Grahpite grease is a nice anti seize for such bolts. BTW, no jackstand. BTW no jackstand and pushing and fumbling around at the vehicle with a forklift at the same time!!!

Hi Nick greetings from central West Nsw Aussie another great video that header should float through the crop not even leg arms could undo them bolts amazing
We had some tires similar to those on our 9770 john Deere's at klien harvesting they work awesome in muddy fields. They actually work better then tracks. And the ride is amazing
Excited to see this thing prepped and running for harvest 19!! Awesome work boys! I just want the welker family to know you guys are a true inspiration!! Also them floaters are awesome! Pretty Pumped to see the video of it stuck and what kind damage it dose to the ground trench wise. Curious to see of the combine will leave the same size trench as the buds.
I know you said you rarely need 4 wheel drive during harvest but it will cut down on compaction and I bet they will last a long time on your operation bet the ride is better as well
In illinois is it really commond too use large flotation tires in some areas on the combines but not lsw 1400. But we heared very positive things about titan lsw. The combine will on road ride beeing more stable at fast drive i believe.
If your not frequently lubricating your air impact, In my experience, when my air impact won't break a bolt/nut loose, adding a couple of ounces of air tool oil into the quick disconnect will boost the torque of the gun, sometimes enough to break it loose. It will blow oil out the exhaust onto your pretty new wheel and maybe onto you also. lol

pete hutzel forward v tread will self clean in heavy slop but I read back further and Robert Welker said that back axle is not a drive axle.
Ag tires are mounted backwards on steering axles because they are driven by the ground and will turn better reversed.

ur dad or pap works harder than kids 18 - 30. Good for him.
Back tires are turned wrong but it’s to much trouble to take them off and switch sides. Good job fellas.
When rear wheels are not power driven then backwards helps with steering. The ground become the power driver.
Robert Welker ok I understand
Can’t wait for harvest too see how the two compare
Hi Nick greetings from central West Nsw Aussie another great video that header should float through the crop not even leg arms could undo them bolts amazing
Love the new tires and good thinking on how to take them wheel nuts off 👍
You will love those tires i have 900s on my 9600 jd and that thing even only being 2wd goes through alot of mud!
Leg Arms deserves a 💲raise💲...✌ God Bless 🇺🇸🚜🇺🇸
Those new wheels look awsome on the combine!!!!
If Scott managed to squat those wheels he'll be installing a kick-start kit on the combine next, lol.
😁👍👍👍
Ll.
That is the coolest looking combine EVER!!!
Holy Cow Batman! That's A Montana Combine now!
We had some tires similar to those on our 9770 john Deere's at klien harvesting they work awesome in muddy fields. They actually work better then tracks. And the ride is amazing
7:26 when a 8230 becomes a 8250 XD
He dreams it at night, so it makes sense why he slipped up 😊
Your videos are Cinematic ❤️❤️❤️
Excited to see this thing prepped and running for harvest 19!! Awesome work boys! I just want the welker family to know you guys are a true inspiration!! Also them floaters are awesome! Pretty Pumped to see the video of it stuck and what kind damage it dose to the ground trench wise. Curious to see of the combine will leave the same size trench as the buds.
I know you said you rarely need 4 wheel drive during harvest but it will cut down on compaction and I bet they will last a long time on your operation bet the ride is better as well
we had to put those on our 9230 last fall it still gets stuck
In illinois is it really commond too use large flotation tires in some areas on the combines but not lsw 1400. But we heared very positive things about titan lsw. The combine will on road ride beeing more stable at fast drive i believe.
If your not frequently lubricating your air impact, In my experience, when my air impact won't break a bolt/nut loose, adding a couple of ounces of air tool oil into the quick disconnect will boost the torque of the gun, sometimes enough to break it loose. It will blow oil out the exhaust onto your pretty new wheel and maybe onto you also. lol
Love those big tires!! They have to be costly. Thanks for sharing the experience!! Dean from Minnesota
