I have a 12 foot Bass Tracker boat. Mostly my two boys take that and I end up fishing from the banks and piers. It is Bass, Trout, panfish where I fish. There are a couple of places where I can get Catfish from the banks but I've never caught one. My son catches enough though. Making me look bad all the time. Keep making these videos! Love them all!
I loved it, I started out with a Zebco 202, my 12 birthday, before that it was a Shakespeare open reel, spent more time untangling line than fishing, I love your program, I'm 77 Yrs. old, I live in West Michigan, and I use an 8 ft. Thank you brother lol you seem pretty cool too , you don't know how long I've secretly wanted toi visit Hawaii man that's a beautiful place . I appreciate you commenting my new friend
I still have my 202 with a solid fiberglass rod in working condition lol . Even after 30+ years. But I remember my first 33 still have it and use it occasionally. I just recently went thru it and polished up the top and bottom . It looks better than ever now. Keep up your vids man. Just subscribed.
Can't tell you how many Zebco 33's I've fished with growin' up! Great reels for kids to learn on! Great build! Can't say that I've seen many folks fish with their rod pointed downward while in a rod holder. Personally I'm a rod upward kinda guy. Using this design, I'd have to engineer some type of rear ledge or ramp to hold the reel from slipping/falling backward out of the holder. Great DIY!
Thank brother, I agree 33s are still awesome reels for kids to use . I appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a comment I love feedback, it helps me know what ppl think about what I'm doing

You like to do the same as me lean the rods forward it's fun watching them stand up when you get a full pull
@@FishinNStuff hey no prob bud been watching your stuff for a little while now and I have used a lot of the tips and tricks you show on your channel and has helped out

I've been trying to buy stands like this for years. Finally got one off eBay. Then bought 3 cheapo flimsy versions from a tackle store. All shipped from North Carolina, to me in Indiana where no one has ever seen anything like it. Only thing I'd want different with your superb looking version is the addition of a slight indication of upward swept circle BEHIND the reel cradle. To eliminate the admittedly outside chance of the reel (and rod) recoiling backwards after a hit. (yes, I understand the drag should be off or on click only, so a recoil swing should in theory never happen) ...or any other thing _including human error_ (me clumsily bumping it with my toe) from jostling the reel out of its intended cradle pocket. The excellent (square stock) one I bought off eBay includes a little bit of upward cradle circle behind he reel. Whereas the flimsy ones I bought are perfectly straight behind the reel. But because they are flimsy (much lighter gauge metal, round stock) they are actually quite prone to rocking and vibrating when any abrupt lateral pressure is applied, even when they're planted correctly/fully into the ground. If my foot lightly touches the flimsy holder while I'm messing with something else, the pole might well launch/flop backwards out the cradle. Again, that's pure human error, but why should that even be left as a possibility? Just a little indication of an upward arc behind the reel, *obviously not enough to interfere with cleanly snatching the pole out of the holder in an instant when you get a strike,* fully prevents that possibility. I've written emails, commented back-and-forth on RUclips videos, and called tackle shops. In about 6 years, I've found 4 to stands buy. BTW on my "nice one", the whole thing is rubber dipped, except the 12 inch stake part that goes into the ground. It also has a step bar with an angled support member, for easily stomping the stand into the ground. I went to your product link all happy, but there are no rod holders there, lol.

I've had the boat thing but sold out and bought my vibe kayaks and love them, no fuel to worry about nor a plug that I normally forgot until I was sinking!!
Ol lord don't forget your plug lol that's not good . I bank fished for years then got a yak then upgraded too a Hobie outback and then I bought a boat and now I traded up for a lil bigger boat . I wanted ti do it before I got too old to pay a payment

It is a real educational show/channel you have reeeaal Awesome ! / Paul
You should make one of your monster rod holders that you built and add those half circle but you got on this video to keep fish for pulling your rod out the way you build stuff I know it's going to look cool and there would be nobody else out there the has one like it
Are you a professional fabricator? I really like all of your DIY videos. You do a great job of explaining what you're doing and then show it, so it all makes sense. Very cool.
I do fab for a living but I don't do the kind of stuff I do on my videos . Ive did a lot of different stuff over the years lol I appreciate you watching brother
These are nice, I think I might make one similar to it with a bottom part that will mount in the oar holes of my boat maybe come up with a way to tighten it so it points in a single direction. Have you Thought about building a "Rod Pod"? one of those folding, portable, multiple rod stands? A DIY for one of those would be interesting.
@@FishinNStuff i mean when the fish bite the bait and pulls it. It will automatically set the hook. For example the rod holder that you make in the video if you put some spring at the back and make some trigger mechanism for the line so when a fish bite and pulls the bait it will automatically sets it.
For spinning rods and reels they're called tilt stands. There's a few guys here on RUclips that show them. The arm of the reel is what gets caught in a U shaped piece and the carp can't run off with your stuff and you also get the rod lifting effect when they run.
Can you build this one or the non-adjustable one with althread and nuts and bolts for people that don’t have welding equipment. I have a pacemaker and can not be around welding equipment. Thank you. Love all your DIY videos.
I need to check your other videos, but I have some fishing rod holders I got at either Academy or Wally world. I have 6 and they are plastic, and adjustable up and down for rod angle to water, but I would like to set them on a raised stand on my ProCraft fiberglass bass boat to do Crappie fishing in a spread of 3 on left of bow, and 3 on right of bow. I can see where my front casting seat is mounted.... But I'm having a difficult idea if how to anchor them solid for the rods. I could still a stainless plate to the inside of the gunnels, and bolt on to that. I do have a mig welder.
@@FishinNStuff haven't seen all but will do that.. Your vids are DYI friendly and I like to do my own stuff. So I'm subscribed. You have my attention. Except on Kayaking, I'm too old and creaking in the joints to be getting into one of them. Of course, if I needed a bath, they would probably work well to dip me into the water.
I get that man , I totally understand . I like about any kind of fishing but the older I get the less I like kayaking but I still try to go some to keep in shape . I don't do a ton of kayak stuff . But I try not to leave anyone out lol .
ruclips.net/video/KrVeO1RtMf8/видео.html That's the video I was taking about that might work , maybe not but you could convert this to hold different types id rodholders
I've been thinking and trying to figure out how to make a backpack Live Well for panfishing Creek's something about a magnet small aquarium pump and some coil wire. And some kind of thick plastic bucket or bag or something in the backpack.
Ive seen a couple people use flat storage/ free standing mesh hampers as "in the water" live wells. But if you are looking for an "on the land" live well the battery operated air-raters. for fish tanks like the one featured in this channels 17 bucket hacks video would work. and then you would just need to swap the solid 5 gal bucket for a collapsing camp bucket. you can get folding camp buckets in the camp and sporting goods section of walmart for I think $10. If you wanted to be adventurous and try it you can get a really big dry bag and then use some paracord or bank line to tie the top to a branch to it dosent fall over and spill. there are alot of collapsing containers in the camping and survivalist sections. Finding an appropriate battery powered fish aerator for your needs should be as easy as your local pet store that deals in (exotic) fish
Fishin N Stuff square tubing 1 just a little bigger than the other drill holes in it for the height and but a bolt and nut through it that way u can adjust it to a short stand for kids I have a 2 year old want to get it so she can jerk em till she gets older have a medium adjustment and a tall adjustment have it where u don’t have to angle without tilting the whole stand I would do it but I don’t have the tools to do it

Yeah I love collecting old reels too . But I really did use em years ago . I'm 49 not for much longer but I'm gonna enjoy every minute of my 40s hahaha
not all of we catfisher people use baitcasters and have nice soft shorelines to put holders in. I fish only from the bank with spin tackle and rocky banks are my nemesis. Oh yes,, I've tried single rod stands but in less than 6" hit rocks. I've destroyed spike type stands trying to hammer them in. I've even bought freestanding holders but none have held up! so do any of you have a freestanding two rod holder you've made, please?
small led to usb connection on the end shining down to the rod tip on the side and you could use a Dewalt drill battery to power a single led to light the rod up for days ... Pretty slick setup !

I've had the boat thing but sold out and bought my vibe kayaks and love them, no fuel to worry about nor a plug that I normally forgot until I was sinking!!
I love the ProRockets but the 6500 C3s are awesome reels too im not sure about the C2s though
Ol lord don't forget your plug lol that's not good . I bank fished for years then got a yak then upgraded too a Hobie outback and then I bought a boat and now I traded up for a lil bigger boat . I wanted ti do it before I got too old to pay a payment
Really good work there ! havent fished for catfish yet not allowed here home in sweden nearest legal area is rio ebro in spain .. when im carpfishing i use regular banksticks and rodpods (uk style) havent seen anything like that for the 12-13foters well i guess i need to get rich and buy loads of tools . It is a real educational show/channel you have reeeaal Awesome ! / Paul
Thank you Mate
Real funny just had to rub it in thanks awesome rod holders
Haha sorry brother you might as well admit it though we old lol . I'm still waiting on a video man
You should make one of your monster rod holders that you built and add those half circle but you got on this video to keep fish for pulling your rod out the way you build stuff I know it's going to look cool and there would be nobody else out there the has one like it
Oh yeah, just subscribed. Love your work
Thank you for that
Are you a professional fabricator?
I have been thinking about it but , it seems difficult , the folding up part any way
Best video!!!!!
Thank you , your the best ,,,,, best Sister in law 😁
Awesome rod holder! Can you make a cool automatic quick release rod holder. That would be great.
What do you mean by quick release ? Like getting it out of the holder faster
@@FishinNStuff i mean when the fish bite the bait and pulls it. It will automatically set the hook. For example the rod holder that you make in the video if you put some spring at the back and make some trigger mechanism for the line so when a fish bite and pulls the bait it will automatically sets it.
I was thinking about doing that already man . Ive just got to think it all through so it'll be easy for anyone too make
@@FishinNStuff looking forward to see that sir.
Awesome! What about a video of your weld table?
I could make a video of it but I wish I would have recorded myself making it . Im going to post a video of how I made my weld cart will that work
You should make one for a spinning rod and reel.
Ive been thinking that over a while and trying to come up with something awesome just for spinning reels
I have an ideal for modifying this for spinning reels and rods. Contact me and we can talk
For spinning rods and reels they're called tilt stands. There's a few guys here on RUclips that show them. The arm of the reel is what gets caught in a U shaped piece and the carp can't run off with your stuff and you also get the rod lifting effect when they run.
Just look up tilt stand carp run and you'll be able to see how they are built.
Thanks brother
Yes Sir thank you for watching brother
Can you build this one or the non-adjustable one with althread and nuts and bolts for people that don’t have welding equipment. I have a pacemaker and can not be around welding equipment. Thank you. Love all your DIY videos.
I'll see if I can come up with something brother .
Thank you so much. And keep coming up with more videos 😜👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hell yeah bro awesome
Thank you Sir
Brother have you watched the cleat mount rodholder video that sounds like what you need
But I try not to leave anyone out lol .
ruclips.net/video/KrVeO1RtMf8/видео.html
That's the video I was taking about that might work , maybe not but you could convert this to hold different types id rodholders
Made to last👍👏👏🎣
Thank you Sir
I've been thinking and trying to figure out how to make a backpack Live Well for panfishing Creek's something about a magnet small aquarium pump and some coil wire. And some kind of thick plastic bucket or bag or something in the backpack.
Oh yes and under $40
Ive seen a couple people use flat storage/ free standing mesh hampers as "in the water" live wells.
What about a completely adjustable stand be able to change the height and angle ur rod down or even?
That's a good idea
Fishin N Stuff square tubing 1 just a little bigger than the other drill holes in it for the height and but a bolt and nut through it that way u can adjust it to a short stand for kids I have a 2 year old want to get it so she can jerk em till she gets older have a medium adjustment and a tall adjustment have it where u don’t have to angle without tilting the whole stand I would do it but I don’t have the tools to do it
Hey bud what about a diy on a rod holder to go across the back of the boat like the one is on your sea ark boat been looking your one to make just haven't found one I like .just a idea of you decide to make one thanks Russell
I may just have to do that , I'm just careful to try and make things anyone can do , most ppl can't weld Aluminum and that eroded be ideal , what you think it should be made of?
@@FishinNStuff Hey Keith just thinking of what to make it out of maybe a thin wall metal tubing or thin wall square tubing I have seen on RUclips some were made and looked very heavy but you know as well as I the lighter the better for the boat I just don't have a idea on making one or seen one like I like the one on your boat is ideal if you make one out of thin wall metal material the rack Shouldn't Beto heavy for the boat just an idea if you decide to .Great job on all the diy stuff you make and saving money I've price some of the stuff you made and it's alot cheaper to make it than to buy it so keep up the awesome stuff you build great job Keith
HOLA, TE ESCRIBO DESDE ARGENTINA, ME PODRÌAS DECIR COMO PREPARAS EL PLASTICO DERRETIDO? COMPRAS ELMATERIAL O LO FABRICAS VOS CON CALOR, COMO SERÌA!!!! ABRAZO Y EXITOS
Great design. Do you have one for spinning rods and reels?
Have you tried have you tried to make a rod holder like the takedown rod holders? Just wondering how it could be done without a welder or if it could be.
🇺🇸 made in the USA 🇺🇸 not China that’s awesome 😎 I like the color on it
Everything von that video was USA official lol . Thank you brother I appreciate you watching brother
Do you sale them Rod stand
No I don't but there's a lot of places around here that do sell em , I saw some for sale at the catfish conference last year too
Could you make some rod holders for open face reels yes the old school fishing rods holders are
I've working on some alreadt
Thank you bro I really appreciate that
Although that one is sweet I'll bet one made out of aluminum would be a lot lighter...... Cool DIY......
Ive thought about that actually but most ppl can't weld Aluminum , and it would cost more , but it would be awesome lol . Thank you by the way SK
I really like the adj kind I didn't know they was that easy to make I gave 130.00 for four
You need adjustable reel holder for when the rod tip is up higher so that the reel don't slip out backwards at a higher angle. It's a great idea you got
I've made 2 of these one it's regular and the other is adjustable
@@FishinNStuff nice good deal thank you
I've seen one like that Long time ago. Ide love to make me 2 to 4 dor me and friends out fishing. But don't weld prob never will now. But great diy you no I love your stuff i Thumbs up before I even watch. But if ide seen this in my 20s ide been making and giving some away some sell for price of material only. But great job being it ajust A+++. God bless
Do you by any chance go to the catfish conference, I've seen ppl selling then there ,
@@FishinNStuff no never have to far for me to drive. Ide love to. But even if I got there cost to much to get in for me. Lol. But it's cool. I'll keep making my kind. Or make some new ones for my wheel chair. I really want to fix that one. But hope you have fun and fish on God bless
Did you watch that video Luke Nichols did about fishing in a wheel chair ? He had some good ideas on mounting rod holders to a wheel chair
Can you receive text messages on the phone number on your about page , on your channel Danny
@@FishinNStuff yes I answered sorry wasn't paying attention was just getting up me and my daughter was talking. She just moved back in and we're trying to figure how to get the bills payed and food till she gets a job as a care giver for me. Yea sounds sad but some days I need alot help on good days I fish then the next day need help. Lol. But now that she's home she can cook and clean and help me load or unload the trailer I use for fishing. So I get to fish more and if I get hurt she's there. So I'm happy she's home again sadly she was crying the day she moved back was supost to be 2 moving in. But now just her. But yea I'm sorry I didn't read for 2 hrs. But I did answer back. And thank you. God bless
Good video as always, but in words similar to David Allan Coe, "you've not built the ultimate bank fishing rod holder." Call me...I got a rod holder / collaboration idea....like you need another idea thrown at you....LOL!!
😜 yeah my list is getting long , I'll call you maybe wer Can do something soon , got Thanksgiving and Christmas vacation coming up
Ps just because it ain't pink , don't mean it ain't awesome lol
Hey, Your videos are awesome. I was wondering if you could do a DIY video on a rod holder for a fishing dock. There's always never enough rod holders at a fishing dock
I wanted to do that but every sick I've looked at has different railing or no railing
ou can pat them with bedliner then paint over that any color you like.
Yeah the bedliner spray is awesome
i see your rods are a lot neater now. enjoyed your video. only thing how does an open face reel set in this design?
That is a problem ive been thinking about a while . I need to make a rodholder for spinning reels.
The other style of carp stands, I think they call then Buffalo stands, only the front rest is adjustable and has a foot peg
Me and you must be the same age. Had me a couple 33’s👍🏼
Uppity....jk haha!
I'm 19 and got one still in the package I used them before i started with baitcasters but now i use them but man it's fun to pick old equipment up for the memories and use it
Lol
Yeah I love collecting old reels too . But I really did use em years ago . I'm 49 not for much longer but I'm gonna enjoy every minute of my 40s hahaha
50’s ain’t so bad. 👍🏼
not all of we catfisher people use baitcasters and have nice soft shorelines to put holders in.
I've been trying to think of something that works but I don't care much for junk . I'll think of something
Use anti welding splatter which helps when cleaning up welding BBs
small led to usb connection on the end shining down to the rod tip on the side and you could use a Dewalt drill battery to power a single led to light the rod up for days ... Pretty slick setup !
Thank you brother , that would work good , we used beepers back in the 90s so it would wake you up when you got a bite lol
Do you have a video of a rod stand for spinning reel
Now I gotta get me a welder!
Could you make a set of the carp stands where only the front bar moves but not the reel part?
Love it. But I use spinning reels so I would have to figure an adapter or something for that. Great information and great video my friend
Ive been try ti think of a really cool spinning reel stand , I mean there's stuff out there but nothing awesome lol
How do you keep your fishing rod and reels looking new?
NIIIIIICE!!
Thank you brother
How do I contact the maker of these rod holders to purchase them?
Will this work for other types of reels though???
It should work fine for round reels or low profile reels . It's not really designed for spinning reels
@@FishinNStuff lol. That's what I kinda thought. All my sons and I got are closed and open faced spinning reels. Still have 3 old zebco 33s on some 1980s ugly sticks.
@@natureboy6410 now 33s will work in em too , im going to make a spinning rod stand soon
I would like to see someone build a serfcart out of a golf caddy I am trying to but I have no idea but I am not doing to bad so far
Wonder if you could spring load that and make a hair trigger to make it a self setting whatchamakallit? I will take 1% for the idear! LOL! Not to much overhead for that part! Great video! 💡 Thank ya!
I was already planning a video like that haha , the problem is making it simple so everyone can build one you know ,
@@FishinNStuff "You can do it!" Have faith in ya! Keep it simple and cheap! Love all your wisdom and videos! Keep em Rollin! Tight lines and keep catchin!
Thank you brother, I believe I can do it , keeping it simple is the hard part lol
That’s great for those barrel reels but how about one for a spin cast or open face reel?
Ima make one ,,, some how lol
@@FishinNStuff thank you we all don’t use the barrels
I would like to know if you can make the ones for carp fishing without the cups. For Buffalo carp fishing.
My buddy makes em for Buffalo carp like your talking about . The one that makes the steps
put some thing on the metal so it wont scratch the reel ?
It has a rubber coating ?
Now we are getting to things that work forme sinve i dont have a boat and do nothing but bank fishing..
I try and rotate the ideas so there's something for everyone lol im sorry brother , I love it all lol . I even got a yak
@@FishinNStuff i lm working on trying to get a yak and then work on getting a boat.. I enjoy all your diy videos.. Keep up the great work brother
@@prestonfrady9259 thank you brother , you can do anything you put your mind too do brother . I really believe that . I appreciate you watching and commenting more than I'll ever be able to Express with words
Another great video. Thanks for all of your hard work. What kind of welder are you using?
Thank you Sir I use a millermatic 211 MVP
Sweet. Sure beats using a piece of PVC. How bout building a (? Chrome) Rocket Launcher rod holder for a boat?
What style , an extension type or you mean that bolts on a rail .
Can you make some boat stands to remove a boat from a trailer the back stands are like car jacks with adjustable up and down the front also like jack stands with a bar going across with a v shape in the middle off the bar to fit the haul
That's a good idea
