Man you are like a mad scientists for anglers , always creating new must have items that make the fishing life better ,thanks for sharing , now get back to the lab and work on the next creation that I'm sure to copy ,
Awesome video like always. One of my favorite channels hands down. I appreciate all of the hard work you put into everything you do. Thank you! Awesome rods too $140.00 each!! That’s quite an investment. Lol I was convinced I needed 6 new rods but it looks like possibly 1 for now.
Another great DIY. I think I need to get me a welder and some scraps to play and learn with...sounds like a great winter project....learn to weld...lol
Hey fishing n stuff preacher Jerry here I'm the one that saw you at the outdoor store remember the pvc. Bumper for fishing boat.i really love your channel keep it going.
Dang Keith that was AWESOME..You are a dang Genius i use to know a bunch of guys that carp fish using spinning reels but they never had a good stand to use. Great idea. Awesome Video Brother THANKS for Sharing
That’s real nice like;! Ironworker Doug here, I make all kinds of stuff to, I made a four (4) pole holder out of some 3/8 rebar! Love your channel it’s so cool 😎!!!
thats pretty darn awesome-only thing i see is i would add a peg to side to place foot to help push into hard ground here where i live-enjoy your channel -i like it when you test things in neighbors pool-nows thats cool right there
G'day mate, great show as usual, being a welder myself i made something similar that goes on the back of me ute, very handy when you live in croc country. Luv ya show mate 🍻
Cool, now do DIY reel covers for spinning reels.....I tried to use coozies, and even with an industrial sewing machine it was a pain to get anything close to functional.
Excellent video as always... I wonder if you can remember a while ago you done a video of the hot weld against aluminium and wouldn't break. What would be the name of the video I'm trying to show a family member Cheers. Look forward to more as always
Awesome idea. Unfortunately I don’t know how to weld let alone have a welder. I’m wondering if it’s possible to put something together using pvc to make something similar… probably use a cap with a hole cut in the middle and stick a piece of rebar at the base to stick it in the mud.
I would absolutely LOVE to make a rod holder like this! But I have no access to a welder (nor do I have the slightest clue how to use one lol) and the local scrap yard sells scrap aluminum just .50 cents cheaper than new.
Have you watched the aluminum rodholder I made I used braze to put it together . You could do something like that possibly . Brazing is like soldering aluminum pretty much , also look around there's 5 to 7 scrapyards in a 50 mile radius from me
Hey Chris, you alway seem to have a new idea for a rod holder. I saw one the other day made out of conduit and ground clamps and I got me thinking. I came up with one made out of black pipe. Those Mul T Bars are awesome and I’d love to have a pair but until I can afford them, this will do. The pipe is 3/4” and the plugs are drilled and tapped at 1/2” x 13 so my monster rod holders will thread right in. I need to plastidip em and they will be ready. Got a few pics I will try and send…
I may build this one and the one for the casting/conv reels,it's one of the few things I have seen on here that I didn't already have made or make after watching. You could also weld 2 single pieces of chain links on to it and use it as a sling attachment points. Then you could just throw them over your shoulder. A lil tip on grinding your parts... I notice you use a flap disc most of the time. They work great but they shouldn't be used on sharp edges, the edges eat them up.Should use a hard disc for such grinds. Had a problem with good many guys at a company I welded for building dozer blades, rakes, grapples, thumbs, buckets, and other heavy equipment items. and even a beach comber. All they wanted to do was use the flap discs and would go through a ton of them,so much so the higher ups was going to quit buying the flapper discs.I showed them what the problem was and told them they need to have everyone learn to use the hard discs on sharp edges, corners or fresh torch cuts. This fixed the problem....yeah we needed a 2nd grinder so not to have to waste time changing wheels but it saved a lot of money being wasted on those discs using them improperly. Once the hard discs took down the sharp edges the flapper disc was much quicker (that also saved time/$ for the company) at flattening/removing weld that held the lift points and etc. that had to be torched off before/during final assembly and paint. The hard discs also don't catch on the sharp points/edges and either throw the work piece or the grinder itself and possibly causing an injury. You can also weld those thin pieces without burning through, just have to adjust your welder (some don't have much adjustment so yeah the spot weld will have to suffice).I used to weld a lot of 3/16 plate to 16ga cold rolled at another company that built steel buildings.Actually got stuck with that job anytime it came up as I was the only one capable of doing solid runs without blowing through it with 85/15 .045. Oh BTW,you may want to make up some small triangle pieces to weld towards the bottom to run into the ground. They'll do 2 things, help keep a fish from pulling the stand and your rods over, and keep it from swinging around if you bump it or a fish pulls on it. I run all my rod holders at least 12" in the ground, deeper at the ocean, even though I use baitrunner reels.Seen to many fish pull others over or right out of the ground because they didn't have them in far enough. The taller they are the more leverage they put on the bottom and easier they are to pull over.
Your right I just don't like changing out grinders lol . I only pay 50 cent too a dollar a piece for em . I get the cheap one so I'm not too gentle with em lol
i have a rod holder that I've built, If you would like to improve let me know on where I can send the drawing of it. Love watching your videos keep up the awesome work.
i like the way its made out of square stock . i made some real cheap . 30 inch square stock with a coat hanger { like the ones riveted inside school lockers } bolted at the top . Have you ever thought of making 1 side for spinning and otherside for baitcaster ? that would be awesome and cover both types in 1 rod holder . another question. do they make aluminum square stock for those of us not fortunate enough to own a welder ? cuz id love to make 1 for river fishing.
Good stuff. Another one of your great DIY's. As the video played I was worried that this rod holder would not keep the rods secured. I was wrong it does.Think when I make mine I will try and elevate the front part of the holder. That way the fish will pull the rod, making it bend towards the water to aid in hooking the fish. May be a challenge since the rod may slide down. Would have to figure that part out. How to keep the rod from sliding backwards.
Now im Sitting here Watchin And Drinkin 7.5% beers and thinkin " Noow i need to git my hand on some of them " ! i Can carve a Gnarly Pipe and pikeJawdropper bait but Heeel no i can Not Weld if so my life Dipended on It / Paul Roger Nilsson - North Sweden ! i do think an Oring as the backrest would have been more secure for that nighttimesleepintheChair (after watching) just because ive had pike trying to take the rod and Carp also when ive not notices/droved off . Thumbs Up
Build one for a spin cast reel on a 6 foot pistol grip rod please. There is a lot of those rod and reels in Mississippi. We could use your DIY help sir
I think it's just safe to assume it's going to be awesome. We can just get that out of the way and move on from there. However, you didn't have enough PPE........
All this stuff he makes is way cool but is absolutely NOT the reason I watch him.......couldn’t care less about the projects.....he just cracks me up!!!!
Hey Keith I just watched the roast video earlier today you guys were AWESOME thanks for more great ideas .BTW. What line is the orange line on that one reel?
@@FishinNStuff have you thought about doing this and picking the rod tip up in the air for circle hooks? This seems like a great rod holder but I’d like to see it more vertical?

I love it. Great idea and great job Keith. Gonna make me one.
This is a great build thanks
Really neat 👍👍👍💯💯💯🙌🙌
Not bad, my area has very little current so I think I would put the rods on an angle away from each other to give some spread but this is cool.
Very cool build !!

Keith, damnit son, I gotta go and get me a welder. How about a vid on which welder is best for damoney. Tanks in advance
I'm a fan of miller welders but honestly for little projects like this a cheap harbor freight 110volt one will do just fine.
And which ones might be good to learn with...I am looking around bow. They are not expensive and want to do some of these small projects.
They had one on sale fit 179 dollars last time I went to harbor freight , I believe fit the money fit small projects it would be great
