    Very informative, spent a lot of my childhood in Longford, visited Granard on many occasions. my grandfather told me all about the troubles, and still very much interested in this turbulent period. Many thanks

    Im surprised as the narreteur use s the verb murder , of a British agent in Ireland ? I would have thought execution , or killing ? Might be closer to the event ?

    My first cousin twice removed General Sean Mac Eoin ambushed the Black and Tans after the burning of Granard at Clonfin and became known as the "Battle of Clonfin"
