    Ben, congratulations on the first cutting this year. I thought it was going to be a impressive first round for you. I hope you get the rain you need for the second cutting. If you cared to share it, i would like to know how you got starting with the hay business, what equipment you started with, just a little back story from where it started to where you are with it now. I think it would make a great video, and i think most of us, your subscribers would enjoy it. Thanks for another great video. See you on the next one.

    My old New Holland 654 had a buzzer like yours, no monitor and it was twine wrap. As I said in a previous comment, I really liked the NH, but when I had a roller go out and the shop told me it would be maybe up to 10 grand, my son and I went together and bought the John Deere 450E net wrap. It works great shorter wrapping time and storage outside is better, or less loss. The down side it the cost per bale of the net wrap, but that's works out okay for now. Thanks for sharing, I hope you have a great day!

    Struggling here to make dry hay in ne Wisconsin, thunderstorms and very humid, anyway we have acquired this Hesston baler that’s exactly like yours, this thing will wrap if your not careful especially if some hay is a little damp, so l found out that you can fit a scraper bar for the starter roller to hopefully stop this from happening, it comes later this week so I’ll tell you how it goes when we finally get a break from the weather.

    • @khtractors
      @khtractors  Месяц назад +2

      Let me know how the scraper goes, that’s something I’ve considered. Thanks for watching

      @@khtractors good news on the scraper, we set it up to have absolutely minimum clearance, certainly makes these balers less troublesome with wrapping when hay is sometimes on the damp side in spots, couple other things we’ve done with improvements, all new pickup tines, removed the bale ramp, yes you now have to back up, but along with reverting to single tie, no longer have twine undoing itself and being a nuisance when moving the bales, one other thing we’ve done, fitted a voltage regulator right in the control box along with an adjustable potentiometer so to regulate the speed of the tying arm, this takes the guesswork out of the amount of twine on the bale, makes a tidy job, hope this helps.

    I know this is off the subject, but I've noticed you drive a school bus. Are you the transportation director for your school? I taught HS Ag/FFA for 36 years...drove a school bus all that time...retired from that out of Arkansas and am now the TD for a school in SW Missouri. Well...anyway...best wishes. I enjoy your channel a lot and I'm trying to get started doing some videos of my own. Although I'm not real tech savvy! lol
