This is one of my favorite fights of all time. The story/buildup of course, but then seeing Adesanya nearly KO him in round 1, the narrative mid-fight as the commentators start writing Pereira's obituary on round 4 about how he wasn't ready for this fight, and then BOOM, round 5, that surprise KO.

Why is nobody talking how Pereira moves forward or back ..?
He takes little jumps with both his feet at once, there are no "steps", both legs go together most of the time and they're always under him.
This basically means that, even if he's mid-"step", he can always throw.. He'll just start the movement while in the air, touch floor, let the hands fly.

Adesanya has the most TRAGIC 4 losses in MMA.
    1. Jan - lost to the newly minted champ only AFTER Jon Jones left for HW. Jan was considered by many as not the true 205 champ, yet he outstruck & out grappled the "kickboxer" proving that Jones would have been a bad style march up.
    2. Alex Poatan Pereira - his rival in a previous sport where Adesanya had already lost twice before, once by a brutal KO. Then after winning most of his fight, like in kickboxing, Alex takes the victory.
    3. Strickland - after all the talk, Strickland had the style to throughly beat Adesanya... In kickboxing style no less. Losing immediately after avenging his loss to Alex, who Alex himself KOed Strickland before fighting Adesanya.
    4. Dricus du Plessi - the decandant of the colonizer who, in whatever capacity, said he is the true African champ. Adesanya fought one of his best fights in his title fights overall, and still was over powered & then finally submitted. The Native Son lost.
I wonder if he ever thinks about his career losses & see this picture.
    Careers are athletes stories.
