    Great tips! Just bought my first tig welder, this same Everlast typhoon 230. Can’t wait to get it up and running!

    💵 Tip for beginners out there: I backpurge with nitrogen. Same effect, much cheaper where I'm from. Ofcourse in sanitary we use highest quality argon, but for exhausts in my shop it's nitrogen, it does the job well enough. Differences are on microscopic level, corrosion resistance inside the pipe is equal to argon - since welding such thin stainless doesn't requite much heat that would otherwise change properties of the material if welded on much higher amps.

    I'm a beginner and the amperage in action was very helpful

      If your welder is an inverter you won't need as much amps

    It's very important to understand that argon is heavier than the air so it goes down from the cup, and it fills the pipe like water when you purge.

    the typhoon is cool.
    only pain is when scrolling for minutes to adjust frequencies. That needs updating.

    kind of cool! How do you tidy up the welds inside tho, lets say it`s a longer pipe - I don`t see a die grinder being long enough to get in

      @davidtrace5709 6 дней назад

      You don’t do anything to the purged interior.

      @@davidtrace5709 so it`s waste of time making intake or exhaust piping then as the humps will affect airflow

      Up to 5/16”single pass. Up to 1”multi pass. That’s what the Everlast site under min/max for the 230.

      Are you to going use DC with Helium and sharp tungsten or AC with high frequency and rounded TIP?

      @@Beechnut985 No Helium. It still should do 1/4 inch aluminum.

    i enjoyed the video.... but i would enjoy it even more if you actually had arc shots. in 2025 there literally is no good reason to not have a quality arc shot included in your videos. you can achieve this with any modern cell phone and a few $30 amazon ND filters. please think about upgrading your content to include this.
