- The old axles under my 2018 Jeep JL Sport are the latest versions of the Dana 30 and 35, and they're getting replaced by a set of Mopar 44's. Today we unbolt the rear and get it out of here.
Love how Fred chats about his ol’ co-workers etc . But I’m really enjoying his channel a lot .

Cool Fred, the dealer gets three hours labor to remove the rear axle. Boom - out in a half hour!!! Great work.

It is great to see an expert having trouble doing this on a newer Jeep so I don’t feel so bad fighting my old TJ. Keep up the good work.

You can tell Fred works under Jeeps a lot, at the end when he's pulling the axles away, his head is way down, presumably because he has learned (as have I) that hitting your head on metal Jeep parts hurts lots. 😂

The M220 rear on those is a 44, just narrow. The Rubicon's have the wide track 44.
Hey Fred lovin the build, great video. The 13mm wrench on the e-brake cable trick is great. One thing tho using chrome sockets on impact guns is hard on the sockets. keep the video's coming...

That’s actually a factory Dana 44 in the JL. They don’t put Dana 35’s in Jeep Wranglers anymore.

Wait, I thought the 35 finally left in 06 when they stopped tj/lj production. All jk/jl/jt should have a new style 44. Not sure what difference between jk and jl/jt is other than max tow is wider.

@7:35 that sure looks like a Dana 44 diff cover to me. Unless Jeep changed the 35 cover to look like a 44 in the JL, I'm pretty sure that's a 44 you pulled out.

I think the jl had the "new" 35 which looked very similar to the older Dana 44, so I believe he is correct in swapping it out for a true 44.
