"We must choose the sight of our next city carefully"
*completely ignores the river*
Sean Bean for advisor, 2016.
Hear hear!
He'd die halfway through the game though
On my first playthrough, I am going to be an Egyptian Warlord named Joffery.
This game are looking like Age of Empires... Are this game a wonder combination of ideas? AoE + Civ ?!
YOUU,LL GETTT KILL HALF WAY IN THEE GAMEE IF YOU TAKE IT
Is Sean Bean going to be the new narrator? He will certainly be a worthy successor.
that would be really cool indeed.
Just be sure he doesn't die.
It'll be weird when the narrator dies partway through the game.
Ever seen Fast 7? lol
I bet the narrator dies somehow an hour into the game.
I love how the unexplored regions of the map are drawn to look like an old explorer's actual map.
It’s crazy to see how much Civ VI has changed since this E3
Who's here bcus this game is free now on Epic Games ? xD
x2
So accurate LOL
Why would anyone pay $60 for this "game". It's basically every other supercell game. Mafia City. This is literally every mobile game that came out in 2010.
Yep just placed the order and have it sitting in my library until I decide to play
I didn’t know epic games offer free games since its viral that they gave free games every Friday
I hope Sean Bean didn't die during the narration
No, but he died in the trailer, twice
I don’t get it.
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
@@jacmacintosh4064 he dies in everything lol
@@davyt0247 Thrice, now.
take a shot every time Sean says our people
I can't do this I'll have a stroke
I tried playing this game, but I died
Aragorn's last words to him really had an effect
Take a shot every time Sean Bean dies in something.
I swear to drunk I'm not the...elemental spirits...
i like how everything is more animated. it's like the units and leaders suddenly got an injection of emotions and feels
For those of you complaining about the graphics, I have two words for you.
Civilization IV.
Graphics are okay.
Civ 4 had decent graphics for its time, and still doesn't look bad imo.
And you could mod it to look better - Blue Marble was quite nice.
Civ IV is awesome. And it is actually playable online. Even though they tried to kill it shutting down gamespy. But community found a way :-D.
So they look like a mobile game, if that's not bad then what's the problem?
A.I. hasnt already settled 7 cities around your capitel and declared war for breathing. 2/10 realism
no Genghis Khan or Gandhi righteously crushing all other civs and having 30+ cities 1/10 realism
I bet they were playing on settler, *scoffs* casuals
Having tanks against musketmen? 8/10 realism if you're playing on prince
it was on easy
Lol I played as Morocco in the desert, the Mongols surrounded me but my gold let me rek them
I love the fog of war, the cities, and the general aesthetic of the game! It's really looking great. However, please please please just FIX THE EXPLOSIONS! I'm sorry, but I just cannot take the game seriously with those explosions :P They're just too cartoony for the game; simply doesn't fit.
did you see the wheel on the artillery? this is fucked up
+William Mills what's wrong whit it it?
It looked like that back in the day
+William Mills what's wrong whit it it?
It looked like that back in the day
+mees arentz wheels didnt look like that, not in that time period .
They should place a button in configs to enable/disable Old Batman Fight Style :P
Hands down the best turn-based strategy game trailer I've ever seen, nice work! :)
Oh hey Ohm
Damn no one cared about this comment
Gg
spoiler Alert: Sean Benn gets kills once you get to the Renaissance era...
He'd still get more work done as an adviser than those crappy advisers in civ 5 have done in my 600+ hours of civ 5
+Marcus Boddy lol, with 600 hours you can't judge the game, maybe when you have played more than one game of civ v you can.
Hm? 600 hours of game-time is quite plenty, no?
In those 600 hours there are several different games with different maps and civs...
Marcus Boddy
The joke --->
(Your head)
+Marcus Boddy done 3000 nub
It appears to be coming along nicely. I'm really looking forward to this.
That fog of war looks great holy shit.
Took getting used to
I just have to say, i love this video. I watched it through the Steam store thing and it sent me chills. the narration was absolutely unfathomable. Just the way he speaks through it and shows us, complimented with the graphics, art style, camera angles, time lapses, combat (I love what they did with the horse combat now :) ), and over all feel of the game. It's just perfect.
It was such a big pet peeve of mine to have farms and mines around my city in CIV5. Mainly because I wanted the cities to look good and shine without having farm and mining areas blend in with them and make it look all crowded
Sean Bean is why I sit through each of these walkthroughs
1:50 holy shit, he's amazing at narrating this. Seriously, just from his voice alone, i'm more immersed in this than any first person gameplay trailer. He doesn't fuck around on the job, does he? 100% commitment and immersion. Amazing narration. Best i've heard.
SPOILERS! Sean Bean dies in the end.
It would only be a spoiler if you said he lives in the end. Him dying is expected at this point.
One does not simply stand the test of time
Everything looks good to me, except why do the districts look the same for every culture? Its a little weird having an Asian civilization using western architecture.
The game has always been incredibly eurocentric. Why does this Asian civilization have European looking knights? It always annoys me how it's up to the moders to give units a unique feel.
that's because western culture is superior we can't have Asians wielding firearms or vehicles those are far too complex for someone not born on the right continent
i would agree with you, but then i realized that china invented guns, along with my macdonalds happy meal
It's because they want to sell you two dosens of DLC's with units
HardcoreSolo the Chinese didn't invent firearms they invented white gunpowder which is useless as far as warfare is concerned Europeans invented black powder out of coal, sulfur and brimstone. Black powder can be used to fire projectiles while the chinese version is mostly just for fireworks
One of the best game I have ever seen! Perfect job. Well done!
I love cities even more now, there really cool when there more than just one tile wide and I love the visuals, i love them and the civ 5 ones
that's Sean Fucking Bean ... my gosh it is him. If he is the main voice of the ingame's adviser i'll fucking preorder it NOW!
Sadly he dies when you complete the tutorial.
Ciprian Grosu Indeed.
Nicely done, Sean! Never expected him to be this good a voice actor, KEEP HIM! :D
Right away I love that the turns are now represented by the day passing. That little detail makes me so happy. Originally I wasn't the biggest fan of the cartoonish art style, but it is growing on me
This game is going to be amazing. I'm loving more and more about it everyday.
I love how the person controlling the cursor tries so hard to make it look cinematic and smooth. XD
Wow, Sean Bean can turn anything into an epic adventure. Great narration!
Whoa, this looks SO COOL !! Really some work behind this. Props to the Civ devs, y'all awesome :D
"To insure the security of our borders, we must destroy the enemy at its source" Strange connotation today
I feel like I've seen traces of this idea in political environments..
THATS HOW MURICA WORKS
i thought america attacked people it sees as easy targets
+A Humble Bubble Nah That's Ghandi, The Atomic Warlord.
Those knights have a nice animation!
I am entertained and good job to Sean Bean, this was very fun to watch and showed numerous mechanics. Great job Firaxis!
Looks great, the design decisions seem much clearer in this video. Nice job, can't wait!
"In the Game of Civ, you either win or Die!"
I do love that this game series has found a good new look. The graphics are great to look at, the wonders are the monumental buildings they ought to be, the units look and move very satisfyingly.
The new mechanics are great too.
I look forward to playing it.
The 'internal ramp' in the construction of the Great Pyramid is an excellent touch.
Pyramids are older than 12800 Y. Bosnian pyramids are dated to 34 000y.
9:01 Egypt got triggered that China stole the Pyramids.
Very nice video - very well done. Nice mix of game and story - vastly superior to CGI nonsense. Looking forward to this arriving!
It also means that the game will age much better. I love the artstyle.
VI is going to be just as bad as V...Civ IV was the last true to the franchise edition of civ.
You are a square fan?
the graphics make me feel like I'm playing clash of clans
+MisterBastard The DeathStacks were ridiculous, I'd have to build so many ships just to make sure my naval invasion for Montezuma got there just so i could make a point to stop screwing with me, and I liked playing on archipelago maps so you can imagine
i think they need more soldiers in each unit. 4 spearmen seems like it's too small
Agreed.
I hope we can mod it like in Civ V
The Emperor It likely will, and moding should become easier with the new system.
You can merge 3 spear units into an army so 12 spearmen
Nope, thats only in Civ 4
Possibly one of the best narrators I've ever heard in my life.
Awesome video, really enjoyed it and it captured the feeling of the game imo
They need to remove the effect that makes everything else stop when you attack something, lasting until the animation is done.. Those 4-5 seconds get really annoying when you have 15+ units that needs moving around. Would also look cooler if you could command them all after one another, making it seem they attack all almost at the same time
yuppppL
I love the new ideas they added, the districts looks really cool, the map and the new policies and I saw the roads didn't collide either (Damn you roads in civ V). But why make it so cartoonish? Civ is supposed to be one of the best and most serious strategy games around.
what made you think that it was serious? Have you seen the leaders in Civ 4?
what made you thinl that it was serious? Have you seen the leaders in Civ 4?
Comparing to the latest game, Civ V not IV,
and to be honest, CIV V looks a lot like this gameplay wise (troops and stuff) but with way better graphics and design overal
Besides CIV IV was released in oct 2005 there will be 11 years inbetween those, you'd think they mature a lot, no?
Let's be real, civ is not a 'serious' strategy game. You can't call it serious with Ghandi dropping nukes
I wish every civilization would be like that!!
THIS LOOKS AMAZING! Can't freakin wait!!
This is what they showed at the E3 demo - at least I got a Civ 6 pen and notebook.
Oh man, if the base game is already looking THIS good, just imagine what the DLCs would bring.
Are you satisfied?
@@ambiorixeburones6206 lmfao boi go cry about getting conquered by Rome
Thank you Sean Bean now i really want this game now
whaha played that very first CIV. Just look at it. That's where it all started. Now I feel old (but good)
Will we be able to blow up mountains
why did the downgraded to cartoon like aesthetics
Because it needs to be easy to read, because there is a lot of info that needs to be represented in a small amount of space.
+The Leaf Thinker It's not that, if it was that it would just mean the makers aren't skilled enough to design the UI in a user friendly way and same time maintaining high standard which I find difficult to believe. Instead it might be that they want younger players to get interested of the game. And possibly also related to the fact that they target larger audience, and thus want to keep the hardware specification requirements at low level.
wopmf4345FxFDxdGaa20 Yes, that is a good point. They have been trying to introduce a new generation to the awesomeness of Civilization. In my last comment I wasn't really thinking deeply, I was just reciting Firaxis' response.
It's not just about graphics or UI that is easy to read. It feels cartoony overall, these gesticulations, facial expressions feel like watching cartoon for kids :/ It's like with movies - actors can be ugly, but they have to ACT WELL and different depends of what movie is about. Civ is a serious one, imo. Building an empire from scratch, its problems, diplomacy with other civs and also wars. Why Civ VI is half-jokingly? It's not a game about superheroes...
Gandhi fist fucks you with nukes. I don't think the Civ games were ever trying to be serious.
Just wow... That's why i love Civ Team.. They never fail to impress u.. love ya guys
This story was epic
lots of new mechanics for Quill18 to teach us
"I ask only for the strength to defend my people!"
Civilization V has the most epic intro.
Didnt want this video to end!
Sean Bean in Civ? Will he die halfway through the game?
He would die after the intro loll
I Really hope they add space colonization...
That's a game entirely by itself civilization beyond earth
Ezra Patty I Mean it would be so much cooler if you could branch out of earth and start colonizing other planets. it would add like an extra 10+ hours to the game.
Beyond earth is beyond bad.
+Perky Bellsprout without rising tide
+CosmicMapping then I've got bad news for you, this game won't contain space colonization, although I find it cool as well, just look at BE how big of a fail it was
I must have seen this like six times now, and I know a lot of people say it's better not to, but I just can't help but get hyped.
The preview brings back memories. I can't wait!!!
At 5:56, Ned Starke is a noob, attacking over a river, no wonder the Starkes lost Winterfel.
HYPE
I hope this UI is a placeholder.. It looks appallingly bad.
In my personable opinion they should of kept with the art design (of-course changed it a bit) of Civ V and the UI as-well of-course the UI will change as this is alpha but the art style wont.
I dunno about keeping _all_ of the Civ V UI. I'm always terrified that I'll accidentally denounce somebody when I go to renew a declaration of friendship. The buttons are so small and close together! Although, granted, it is visually appealing.
The diplomacy UI was bad i will agree but everything else i really liked.
IM IN LOVE WITH THIS! Cant wait to get it :D
Ned Stark giving advise to another kingdom isn't exactly healthy for him and his family, I guess someone should give him a... HEADS UP.
who's here after epic games announced that this game is gon be free?
x2
already downloading
I am grateful I am alive at this wonderful time of history
Time to go back and play CiV
If there's one trace of Gandhi I quit XD
Nukes are the answer
just destroy him before he learns how to make nukes.
There will always be players like me who embrace their inner Gandhi while playing >:)
Hi :)
Shaheem Osborne your not ghandi he would wait to show himself
Please tell me Ned Stark is one of the leaders. >.
Of course he isn't...
Thanks, Captain Obvious!!
There will be a mod ...
ugh, that is blasphemous
So hyped can’t wait when it comes out!!
Looks great! Can't wait for it! :D
I love how the fog of war is meant to look like those ancients maps.
Ughhhh the game is just too cartoony. I like the way they are going with the game mechanics actually i love it, but the art design i wished they would of kept it like Civ V
also Would you be interested in a trade agreement with England?
Oh god.. not another settlement in need
Another settlement needs our help, here ill mark it on your map.
Gosh darn it Preston..
"bah" said Preston "humbug"
Looks really good. I think I'm looking forward to this Civ more than any of the others. The way you can see every building on the map is awesome, this is long overdue imo.
They seem to have made a big effort to kind of shake up the traditional way of doing things, and I'm all for it.
GREAT WORK !
9:40 "This war may have been a poor choice."
Not a massive fan of the new super-cartoony art style, but apart from that I'm very much looking forward to this :)
This game looks stunning, can't wait!
amazing totally
Love the city overhaul (should have been done back in V) but guys, after 5 iterations, time to change more than just the paint job. We need new techs, new time periods, a random tech tree and new post 2000s gameplay instead of just stuck in post cold war dynamics and political systems.
There is a desperate need for new victory conditions. Who still takes UN seriously? You'll have to watch old Wonder Woman TV to see that bloated sad excuse of bureaucracy painted in positive light. Alpha Centauri? Love the optimism but jumping from late CIV tech to interstellar travel is skipping about a hundred years of necessary physics and material science and maybe even a WWIII. Realistically, you'll need experience in orbital base building, asteroid mining, moon/mars colonization to even begin sending colonists to AC - that's 1/4 of a game right there!
I'm sorry but after five games, just changing city tile is not gonna convince me to shell out for VI.
jea, a new age is really needed, post modern age pojecting the next 100 years would be really cool (we know basically all big techs that will happen without even going into space, although that would be nice too)
there was a game like civ (clone) that added that a long time ago...don't remember the name right now, it had the "orbital layer" with stations and stuff.
I feel like when Beyond Earth didn't do so well it scared them off of doing anything outside of just following history.
If this doesn't come with it (it probably won't) we NEED that as an expansion.
The purpose of the UN was never to ensure world peace. The purpose of the UN was to prevent another World War by increasing the communication between nations.
And so far we haven't had another world war. The UN ain't prefect, but it wasn't intended to be. Americans and ex-Imperialist countries are way too harsh on the UN. You don't hear many people from small countries that normally get fucked over in wars complaining about the UN.
@wigwarm, if the Mongols didn't blaze through Europe, some of the European tech advances would have been a century or two delayed. Without the Spanish invasion of the new world, the sth Americas would still not have discovered iron/steel. China was dragged kicking and screaming into the industrialized age and so on. There shouldn't be a roadmap to civ advances and I've always hated that the tech tree in CIV is pre-shown and static throughout the series for all factions; it made sense in I but now the devs are just too lazy or timid to mess with the 'God formula'.
I'm not saying a completely randomized tech tree - just some branch randomization so tech X wouldn't ALWAYS lead to gunpower like some pre-ordained destiny.
Pls add Zeppelins..
looks stunning cant wait
I can't wait for this
This looks like a pretty good mobile game.
great video I can't to play the new civ 6. I hope they take full advantage of religion even in the late age in the game.
Building an Eiffel Tower right next to the crops.. couldn't laugh harder
Amazing sound effects!
And now its free on Epic Games Store :)
this looks boring
