      The higher the blue light filter, the less accurate it will be but BenQ has ensured that utilizing low blue light will still give you vivid colors. If you are doing a grade, we would recommend the lowest filter or no filter.

    I bought the 27” one as a second monitor for my 27” iMac. Unfortunately the apple retina screen makes the Benq look dull and lifeless. Is there a set up trick I’m missing?

    • @HuntsPhotoandVideo
      @HuntsPhotoandVideo  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hello! Depending on which iMac you are running and your current settings, the Apple retina screens tend to have a slightly higher pixel density than the BenQ monitors. BenQ also has a matte/anti-glare finish whereas Apple has a glossy, high-contrast screen but colors should render very similarly on both. We suggest doing a full color calibration with your BenQ as well as looking into your color preferences to dial it in.

    How does the 27" 4k work with Mac scaling?

    • @HuntsPhotoandVideo
      @HuntsPhotoandVideo  Год назад

      We have only done very minor testing but from what we can see, the 4k scaling holds up. The Mac retina screens tend to have a higher PPI (163 roughly on the BenQ and 254 depending on the Mac you have) than these BenQ monitors so it's always best to go and test it out before purchasing. Hope this helps!

    I got the benq pd2705U 4k but it seems dim and not as sharp as my iMac 27” .. is that how it’s supposed to be? When the review says the contrast and clarity is excellent, is this acceptable or is my monitor damaged?

    • @HuntsPhotoandVideo
      @HuntsPhotoandVideo  2 года назад

      Hi Jacqueline! It's difficult to say, the iMac displays are high quality and with their glossy finish, the contrast can appear higher. It also depends which iMac you have as they do offer a model with a higher resolution than the BenQ! The contrast and clarity of the PD27 is great but it does take some tweaking (in the settings) to get it properly calibrated to your exact setup.

      Sorry if it gets to you too late, but there's a way around the dim screen, which is activating the DualView through the Display Pilot 2 app (provided by BenQ). When you do so, the brightness surprisignly reaches a very high level (it's very consistent if you choose sRGB on both sides). I'm not sure why it happens and I'm reaching out to their support to make sense of it...

We suggest contacting your local Micro Center (or local computer store) as they will be able to suggest the exact compatible units to go with your motherboard! Let them know what resolutions and maximum framerates you will be working with.

      Hello! It really depends on the lighting conditions in your workspace. For everyday indoor use, 250 nits is plenty bright. If you are working in a brightly lit area with heavy sunlight, it could pose an issue if not using in HDR mode. It comes down to preference!

      @HuntsPhotoandVideo  2 года назад +1

      Hi Benjamin! Unfortunately we have not tested them against each other so we can only give you the minor differences in specs. As far as we can tell they differ in terms of color gammut (BenQ - 99% sRGB & 99% Rec. 709) (LG - 95% DCI-P3 & 95% CIE1976), weight (BenQ - 20.72lb) (LG - 34.1lb), and price! There are likely some more specific working differences but without a true test, it will be difficult to tell as they seem quite similar.

My fear and doubt is that it has 250 nits. Based on your experience, do you think 250 nits is enough? Some of the differences include color gamut (LG - DCP-P3 95% vs BenQ - sRGB 99%), the LG weighs about 2lbs more with the stand, and the LG has a greater swivel/tilt angle. Without a true test it will be hard to see some of the other working differences. We hope this helps!
