The Nine Planet 'Genesis Orrery' with orbiting moons
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 30 сен 2024
- The newly designed Genesis Orrery features an individual drive train to each planet from Mars out to Pluto. This allows for more orbiting moons without sacrificing the fluent orbit of the planets.

I can say this is a magnificent , majestic piece of craftsmanship...incredible.
Barry Hughes, The engineering & maths that goes into this is just mind boggling.
@@johnmoore9862 . Yes, I know. I'm part way through building a replica of the Sanderson Orrery and I must say the headaches are getting worse !
utopia. a model is not truth. If the earth rotates and it takes 24 hours to see the sun in the same position vertically again, why do we not face darkness after 6 months going around the sun? is the earth's rotation increasing or decreasing in velocity? How does that go well with physics as they teach us earth's rotation is constant and that's why we don't witness its effects?... they teach this false system in mandatory schools
I would love to see an orrery like this (fantastic work!) being built based on the TYCHOS - ruclips.net/video/ONxst-xcOB8/видео.html
I like how drunk and unstable Uranus appears to be, but not as party going as the earth rotating on its own axis
Yeah, Uranus has a really funky angle.
Good observation. I was reading about it in Sitchin's Genesis Revisited. Not sure how much of what he writes is true.
Absolutely astounding and beautiful.
I am very impressed by this. I also love it features the earth’s rotation. I just wish that it showed all of Saturn’s seven round moons.
That is impressive. At least all of Saturn's moons weren't included. Saturn deserves its own model. Saturn has at least 53 named moons but has 29 moons that have yet to be named. A grand total of 82.
Yes, Saturn certainly does deserve its own model! Maybe one day...
Saturn has 83 now
@@jayceeroh7276 🤦♂️
Now 146!
I'm building a 3d printed one right now--this is like 1000X more beautiful and complex--fantastic work!
Can you help me? I don't want to confuse anyone tho. I'm trying to find a model just like this but that runs off a motor in real time like a clock.
Omg this is so beautiful! Thanks for making it guys. Alll that time to design and build it... It is really out of this world :)
6 13 20 Hello to the Staines & son Team, Wow, just wow! Some people are so talented with their ability to make an orrery. Thanks for the post; much appreciated. Stay safe, keep calm, & be well as you continue making orreries. v
Amazing, just finished 3D printing simple 6 planet Orrery... but this is just majestic.
I'm looking to purchase something similar to this, I want a model that runs on a electric motor that would depict the solar system in real time like a clock.
I cannot make this up: i have the same goal and was thinking this same idea not even 2 minutes before reading your comment. Owning such a piece will truly be an honor and the craftsmanship will be appreciated for years to come
If you had a model like the one shown - 9 planets - the outer planets would hardly appear to move. During an entire human lifetime, Pluto goes about a third of the way around. Even Jupiter, the closest (and fastest) of the outer planets takes almost 12 earth-years to orbit once, so in a lifetime, it would go around 6 or 7 times (if you were lucky to have a long life)
Mike Collins impressed, but still not dissuaded
Let us know if you find it! So far I’ve only seen it as the v expensive Van Cleef watch
Real time is unrealistic
Ow nine planet? Texas projected , Philadelphia to Galilea, Cameroon
Wow I’d love to buy one and have it in my window and connect it with a little solar panel so it rotates by itself during the day :)
Just jaw-dropping. No words to describe this beauty!
I don't know what all is included in this orrery, correct me if I'm wrong but my guess is:
The Sun
Mercury
Venus
Earth: The Moon
Mars: Phobos, Deimos
Jupiter: Io, Europa, Ganymede, Callisto
Saturn: Rhea, Titan, Iapetus
Uranus: Ariel, Umbriel, Titania, Oberon
Neptune: Despina, Galatea, Larissa, Proteus, Triton, Nereid
Pluto: Charon, Styx, Nix, Kerberos, Hydra
Yes , that,s pretty much it at the moment. We plan to make some further additions to the design in the near future.
They cost around $400-$1,000. This one could be around $2,000 though, considering the intricacies
Amazing, but... Now I need a 3D printable file for this
Damn I missed that Kickstarter
That would have to be the most complicated Orrery I've yet seen. Some mad maths calculations there. Congrats.
Found this by accident. A wonderful little piece of engineering and quite inspiring..
Once you fully turn it will it continue to move until you stop it yourself or do you have to keep winding it up?
A magnificent piece of craftsmanship would love to get hold of the schematics to attempt a build if capable would be the best creation I would have ever made no doubt so a huge accolade to you the builder and engineer of a beautiful piece of art
Are the moons of Saturn not on the same plane as the rings? Or is this artistic license?
Just noticed the elliptical orbit of mercury! Is it a spring-mounted mechanism? I've been working on an orrery of the inner planets and wanted to recreate the elliptical orbit myself!
You could use an elliptical gear.
All the other planets: Damnit Uranus! Why are you so weird?!
Schroeder Highway
Now that my friends is craftsmanship
Well done gentleman
This is art
Can you add the asteroid belt? Make it even more insane.
It's screaming to have a motor instead of a crank
Donde vives staines son orrery market
Place in time machine, send back to confuse the Greeks.
Or just inform them. They'd already worked out that the Earth wasn't flat and were busy debating whether it was spherical or cylindrical when most of our ancestors were living in mud huts and our highest level of science was making bronze weapons. Making the leap to realising that the Sun was the centre of our system wouldn't have been that hard for them.
Paint it black put it in the dark boom
Where was this when I was a lad in school?!?!?😢
Cremin Lakes
I tried building some thing like this once yet it turned out looking more like two pop cycle sticks. : (
Where i can get that? Beacoise i tried to se if i can buy it on their website but i can't
Where i can buy this?
How did you get the moons to spin???

Where can i buy one?
Wow
This is awesome, so detailed.
i was looking for something like this for long time. is it possible to put a light source at sun, to see how the shadows of moon and planets fall?
You certainly could put a light source there, but since the sizes and distances are severely out of scale, and probably the inclinations a bit off too, it wouldn't be very representative.
I want to buy it
literally 'out of this world'
But it's literally made on Earth...
It's beautiful. And it's fantastic! I gather all the planetary orbits are circular? I mean, you surely haven't made Pluto's orbit to cross that of Neptune?
I'll bet you have to crank for a long time to see Pluto go around once.
Amazingly well done. A shame it's likely beyond the price point I could afford for my desk!
You could always build it yourself! Sure, it’d take years to learn all the how’s and the why’s, and you’d need to invest quite a bit in raw materials and gears, but the juice’d be worth the squeeze.
@@countvladislausdragulia7414 Far from years. The math is fairly simple, but I have too many projects on my plate already :-P
Try another one with Planet Nine (Ophadamia) on it.
Why is uranus rotating in an upside down way, and completes it revolution for 84 years
Where are the Asteroids? (Just kidding... at this scale, even Ceres would not even be a speck of dust!)
One day i'll save up to purchase this. Hope you're still in business by then!
It’s so pretty
you could sell this to hobby goers around the world to build at home model to build just market to profesional hobby shops online, there are a billion of them, and you get the parts many will want to build it and display in home office
This is amazing
Wish the outer planets were rotating on their axes
Cool ❤😊!
Excellent. I want to build one!
Wow this is so cool! I wish they were selling those cool thing
I would love to build one of these. I have got to my shop in order.
Can I use this in my video
Cool, an eclipse every 2 weeks :D
Is Earth the only slanted planet?
Incredible. The best Orrery I have ever seen. 👍👍
This is truly amazing
i was lost this vid for 5 year andi found it!
I hope I get this without Pluto and its satellites
No one :
Not a single planet :
Earth : *_GO BEEEEYBLAAAAAADE_*
A "day" on Jupiter only lasts 10 hours.
Me wants. Me wants. This looks like it has been cobbled together with parts from that eagle moss magazine.
whats the price on that one mate
Can anyone please help
Only it's a geocentric system. Do one in the Tycho Brahe model for the win
Ummmm geocentric ? where did you get that from ?
@@gowdsake7103 the answer was given to you.. Tycho Brahe. Look it up and Malcolm Bowden channel has the info
@@EkonRekon Religion played a role in Tycho's geocentrism also - he cited the authority of scripture in portraying the Earth as being at rest. Presupposition is NOT science
@@gowdsake7103 uhh.. no... Actual real science is behind it. All the science suggests the earth sits still at the center of the cosmos. Every experiment ever done reconfirms geocentrism. The implications!! Is religious!! That's what you desperately want you avoid.
Check out Malcolm Bowden. He has dozens of videos that explain it all.
@@EkonRekon What UTT ER bollocks
Malcolm Bowden ? yet another christian nut case who prefers iron age myth to evidence and study !
Are you a flat earther and creationist as well ?
That is a series gear makers dream device. Love the craftsmanship.
master piece of work
Absolutely magnificent! How much? :)
I would guess it's one of those "if you have to ask, you can't afford it" items. Think I read somewhere they're handmade so I'd wager its not going to be cheap.
I want to buy this
This is soo cool
Can you make a video of the orrery functioning from above and try to make it as long as possible okay?
We will be finishing the six planet Genesis soon, I will take birds eye footage of that for you.
Thanks
there are 8 planets
Absolutely stunning
The planets orbit distinctively slow
The Earth is spinning like crazy!
well done!!
Geniuses
This is art.
Awsome
the best model of solar system forever! majestic!
wow cool
That's simply stunning.
You guys are frikkin genius!!
That is the most astonishing thing that I have seen in years.
I ended up on this video through your website when googling how to build an orrery on my kitchen ceiling.
If you ever need any voice-overs, like a phone system or for a video, I'd love to work with you.
where can i buy this? ;P
satisfying
Majestic Der Zeit
I need this to find out how many spins It needs for all planets to line up
Well.. it's about 440 000 000 000 times the age of the universe in real time if we disregard inclinations. I doubt the mechanism would last that number of cranks. The period may be a little shorter depending on what approximations are allowed in the mechanism's gearing and how closely they line up.
Why id Venus blue? :D
