    Nice work! I'm making a replica of the monsters from the Critters movies, and I'm eager to try out Flex Foam-It as the filler.

    I'm looking at using Flex foam-it 3 to make Lekku for a Hera Syndulla (twi'lek) costume, I'm really looking for the lekku to swing with her walk and behave like flesh rather than be rigid like most Lekku, Do you think this would have enough flex and give to swing when the cosplayer is walking and react to movement of her head rather than just being static and stiff?

      +pyromaster55 I think so. I've never made a twi'lek but I've definitely thought about it. I think if its long enough it will definitely swing. Thank you for watching!

    when using flex foam it for a mask with a latex skin, does the mold have to be plaster or silicone? or does it even matter?

  • @doomwizard
    @doomwizard 7 лет назад

    Did the foam squish out between the backer and get on your plaster?
    I was considering trying this but I'm afraid the foam will ruin my mold..
    Love your videos btw!

    I've been thinking of trying this for puppets...the head is about the same size, but deciding between FF-3 and FF-5. Puppets have to stay flexible. The 3 here looks right. I thought it would be too squishy.

    Where did u get that flex foam?
    I know they have it in amazon but it's 25$ plus shipping and in total it is 35$ so I wouldn't have enough money. Please tell my other place where they have a cheaper price, if u do then that would help me so much😸

    So from what I'm seeing on your video you mixed two parts part b, one part a? Because I mixed on a 1:1 ratio and ended up with a SUPER hard foam. Is that where I messed up? And awesome video, thanks for sharing!

      Flex Foam it 4 is better at self skinning.

    How long does the foam casting last? Does it begin to crumble after a time?

    I got a question for you. I'm trying to mold light weight radio control rc planes. I need something that is light weight yet not completely "mushy" I guess I need something that would be considered lightweight and somewhat rigid. What foam it would you recommend, or any other product that you know of that would work?? Thanks, john

      @monsterpartystudio8848  7 лет назад

      Hi John. By mold do you mean cast? If I understand correctly, you want to cast in a lightweight material so it flies better? I would try hi-temp apoxie laminating resins or a low density rigid foam. Hope this helps!

    Is this the " sample size" from their website ?
    Is the end product "squishy"? I'm trying to make like little fake cake squishies and I think this material would be nice..

      @monsterpartystudio8848  9 лет назад +2

      iEllieBean Yeah this is the sample size they carry. The foam is very soft and squishy so definitely would work for what you're looking for. Have fun!

      The Flex foam it line comes in a range of density. flex foam it III (3) is very pillowy soft-squishy. Good for fake cake.

    Was wondering what would the turn out be if you didn't apply the latex layer? Would it still have that smooth surface? Thanks!!

    • @monsterpartystudio8848
      @monsterpartystudio8848  8 лет назад

      I believe it would but you have to release the surface of the mold because the foam will grab on to the plaster and stick.

    Lovely video. I'm having a problem I hope you could maybe help me with; I'm casting little foam spikes that are about 4 inches tall in silicone molds. The foam isn't taking shape or staying 'puffy', when I demold it turns out warmed or sunken in. I'm not sure why this is, maybe you would know what I'm doing wrong?

    • @WatermelonPeppermint

      @gzmsk8 8 лет назад

      If you're using the same foam, I would try to use a higher density foam...this stuff is too fluffy and doesn't hold it's shape the best out of all the soft polyfoams. You could try mixing it for a longer time too. Maybe it's not mixed thoroughly enough.

      Collapsing foam is sometimes caused by changes in temperature. Try piercing, stabbing or slicing the foam on the backside. This opens the the collapsed air bubbles and the piece should expand again.
