    Cross the border and then what? Greece can’t afford to give its own people free housing and food, how can they be expected to provide it for 100,000+ immigrants. They say they dont want hand outs, that they will work to earn a living and in their own countries im sure that was great but other countries have their own people struggling to find steady employment. They have a responsibility to their own people first.

      @@gonnabeok it's because of some stupid international law, that pretty much states that if a refugee from a war zone country is allowed to get asylum in any country they first land. They land in Greece because of EU law which states once a refugee is granted asylum they can move to other countries within the EU. So they go to Greece first, trying to end up in Germany, Norway, Sweden etc. The problem is the countries in between like Bulgaria, Hungary are not accepting of any immigrants because they are now immigrants because they would have had asylum. So Greece doesn't grant them asylum or try to delay the process this way there's no major movement of unknown immigrants within Europe.

You know the keys to a new car and in an apartment, free schooling free healthcare, that's why they come all the way across Africa to Europe. For the freebies. They have plenty of safe countries to stop in in route. They're know they're going to Christian nations and let their of Muslims and the two don't mix. So the only logical explanation is for the freebies because Muslim countries they would have to work and take care of themselves and their families.

      When the only other option is for sure death than they gamble on possibly living. Some obviously make it so it is worth the risk for some. However I would not get pregnant. They can't tell their husbands no but if they could. Than maybe the males would stay and fight the war on their doorsteps and many have stayed behind. If I had my own house I'd open it up for a mother and her kids. But here I am a mother seperated from her kids due to a housing issue. I find it unfair to give immigrants housing and food and everything else when it is hard enough for people here. Just like the Greek man said we want to help we just can't afford it. WE NEED TO TAKE CARE OF OUR OWN AND THEN IF WE CAN WE OFFER HELP.

    I think she really means well and wants to help people and especially the children. There are a lot of of children who suffer because of the war in Syria/Iraq. Absolutely no doubt about it! However, the picture which shows the majority of people who come to Europe looks a little different. It's just not correct and dishonest to always show little children in Greece, Calais, Italy etc. It's not the reality! Dear BBC, please take the risks regarding mass immigration into consideration and stop with the lying and the dishonesty.

    We have the United Nations that should look into the reason for the people leaving their country because of conflict between the two factions of Islam, find a solution or support the one that is moderate and help them to fight their own war instead of people fleeing their country and going to other countries as refugees. Europe or other countries have their own problems in running their countries, you cannot expect them to solve this crisis even though it is very sad to see children suffering. Bold decisions and honest effort is required from the UN to deal with the current refugee situation.

      +Paloma84 Don't worry about it, the taxpayers and EU pay for their food/medicine/shelter.. Some of them even refuse food and demand money so they can go out and buy their own food however they like.
      And this documentary is very biased.. Most immigrants are men and among them there are also a few quite terrible criminals.. Where are the documentaries about European women and children being raped, insulted and sexually assaulted.. Nowhere, because Immigrants atm. are protected species and speaking about Europeans getting hurt is considered Islamophobia and some would even call you a Nazi for pointing that out.
      Also most of these immigrants are not Syrian, they are mostly financial immigrants. And most of them live on welfare while European homeless people seriously struggle to stay alive.
      I feel bad for these children as well but I feel worse for the future of European children and their future if everyone is just allowed to come in as they please while European taxpayers take care for them.

    Pakistan isn’t in awar? Why are they there?

    • @tiffanieqaisar4632
      @tiffanieqaisar4632 4 года назад +2

      It could be for many reasons! I would think that they are likely from the borders of Afghanistan. Or from religious oppression such as the Ahmadi's a small religious group that is caught in the crosshairs and a Christian version spin on Islam a blending of the two Faith's and it makes them a target practice for the ISIS folks or whatever they are called now... whatever fascist autocracy which is basically a political cult that is the underdog yet somehow the underdogs were given free rein in those regions. So yes, the situation is very complicated. But if you research enough, you'll find that every country of the world has some form of asylum refugee situation for one reason or other. Whether it is based on war, famine, religion, or cultural inclusion, either way it is a human condition in each and all countries and societies of the world. I know this I have traveled enough to see both perspectives from Pakistani or Indian view as well as from a liberal American perspective.
      And PS Yes. Pakistan has been at war on and off since the government was formed in 1947 I think? First for religious freedom from persecution, then on and off invasions from Afghan forces as well as other border issues. For example india still won't help with resources for water and basic electricity. There is still loadshedding where lights switch off on average for 16 hours on average per day. Tell me you wouldn't want to escape that hot hell in summer that lasts 8 months with no proper hydration and proper air conditioning or living situation! It's a nightmare life having to handwash everything and the houses are in harsh elements outdoors. It is no picnic. Africa is that way too. People need better real estate and we have plenty room elsewhere! That's God's truth!
      Also USA has been bombing them secretly for decades going back to the 1980's when the nasty scary Soviets came to pillage and rape their women then. It repeats like a sad echo over the land. I am not saying the land is useless but the region where it's not farmable and inhabitable many places due to global warming. The population and requirements for water and basic resources is what makes it a hard place to build a daily life.
      We all get thirsty hungry tired and homesick. We all bleed the same too. This thinking is so scary to me, that people are fighting so much to survive and we dont understand their perspectives and judge harshly! Just because a person has seen poverty does not mean they are unworthy. All are our brothers. Hands and feet are all alike and wars walls fear poverty gold divides us...

    What people forget is that Syria&Iraq are multi religious countries. Many many years ago Christianity was popular in the middle east and thus there was a large Christian population. Not anymore! Christian numbers are dwindling. There are also Jewish and Yazidi (who are technically not part of any religion) middle easterns who are also small in number. These 3 groups are minority religions and in a very dangerous situation! They are facing genocide and horrors I can't bear to think about. Australia & Slovakia are trying to help these small minority groups to safety in their countries. Slovakia in particular, took in Christians as a matter of dire urgency as Christians are facing death in Syria & Iraq. ISIS hate anyone who does not conform to their sick beliefs! So Yazidis, Jews and Christians are in extreme danger! So please stop with the nasty comments!

    I really like Stacey Dooley and the way she talks to everyone and empathises, even those she really dislikes. But this was ridiculous. Every shot had a kid in it, pretty much, which isn't the reality of the situation when you see the wider shots, and also from talking to people who have seen it first hand. That one 'minor' she was talking to was well into his 20s, obviously. We can't just take all of the world's poor into Europe, and it wouldn't help if we did. They talk about 1000s, but it won't end there. And what of those left behind? Are we just to forget them?
    I am all for helping those in need, but transplanting masses of people is not the answer.
